Your prayer has been heard and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord according to His Word.
We agree with you that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings should be made for all people, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity, for this is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, as it is written in 1 Timothy 2:1-4. We pray this without exemption, whether we like those in authority or not, for it is our duty, and we thank God for hearing us.
We ask the Lord to have mercy and to save. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, by repentance from sin and faith in Him, for there is no other name by which we must be saved. We pray for leaders, for troops, for civilians, for believers and unbelievers in every place you have named, in the Middle East, in Israel, in Ukraine and Russia, in Asia and the Pacific, in Europe, Africa, the Americas and Australia, and here in our own land, that the gospel of Jesus, the true Messiah, would go forth with freedom and clarity and that many Jews and Gentiles would be saved, as God desires all to come to repentance.
We ask for wisdom and guidance for commanders in chief, prime ministers, presidents, governors, legislators, judges and generals, and for pastors and spiritual leaders. We pray that God would make them like channels of water in His hand and direct their counsels, that He would thwart the plans of the wicked and establish what is just. We pray that He would teach the fear of the Lord, for the prophet says Come, you children, listen to me, I will teach you the fear of the Lord, and this fear must be taught and learned with wakeful attention. We pray for restraint, for humility to know what to say and how to say it, and for protection from deception and false teaching.
We pray for protection. We ask the Lord to protect leaders and troops and to keep them from death where it is His will to show mercy, to protect civilians and not allow them to be placed in harm's way for evil purposes, and to guard the innocent from violence. We pray for precision and restraint in conflict, that if force must be used it would be directed only against military targets and not against peoples, and we ask for angelic protection, for His loving kindness and truth to guard those in danger. We put on the armor of God and pray that all who belong to Christ would stand having girded their loins with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, having shod their feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.
We pray for peace, knowing that peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy. Christ came to make peace between heaven and earth, and He said Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. The peacemakers are called sons of God. We ask that the peace of God would rule in our hearts as an umpire when thoughts contend within us, choosing what endures over what seeks revenge, and we ask for peace in the churches, in homes, among nations, and for the peace of Jerusalem. We pray that wars and rumors of wars would not alarm us beyond trust in Christ, remembering that these are the beginning of birth pains, but that God reigns and works all things after the counsel of His will.
We pray for godly alliances between free nations, for the strengthening of what is good and the diminishing of evil alignments, for freedom of speech and press and for open doors for the Word, that we may make disciples of all nations as Christ commanded. We pray for unity not in mere politics but in truth and righteousness, that the gospel would not be hindered.
We submit ourselves to God, to His government and to His Word, asking for His mercy on the worst, His blessing on the best, and His guidance for all, knowing the Lord God Omnipotent reigns. Let the peace of God guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as we continue in prayer with thanksgiving.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.
