We lift our voices together in fervent prayer, standing in the gap for military leaders, troops, civilians, and all in authority across the globe. Our hearts cry out to the Lord, who alone holds the nations in His hands, for wisdom, protection, and salvation in these tumultuous times.
First and foremost, we are urged by Scripture to pray for all people, especially those in authority, that we may lead peaceful and quiet lives in godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:1-4). Father, we intercede for presidents, prime ministers, kings, military commanders, and all who hold positions of power. Grant them wisdom to govern with justice, humility, and a heart for Your will. May they seek Your face and be guided by Your Spirit, rather than the counsel of the wicked or the pride of their own understanding.
We pray for the protection of our troops and civilians alike. Lord, You are the God who sees and knows every heart. Shield those who serve in harm’s way, and guard the innocent from the devastation of war. We ask for precision in military operations, that only legitimate targets be engaged, and that civilian lives be spared. Your Word declares that You take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live (Ezekiel 33:11). Let mercy triumph over judgment, and let Your compassion be poured out on all who are suffering.
Father, we recognize the signs of the times as Jesus described, the wars, rumors of wars, famines, and earthquakes in various places (Matthew 24:6-8). These are but the beginning of birth pains, and we ask that You would use even these trials to draw people to Yourself. Let the Gospel go forth with power and clarity, unhindered by the schemes of the enemy. Raise up laborers for the harvest, men and women filled with Your Spirit, to preach repentance and faith in Christ Jesus to the nations (Matthew 9:36-38). May the name of Jesus be exalted in ###, in ###, in ###, in ###, and to the ends of the earth.
We pray for the salvation of leaders and peoples in every nation You have mentioned, ###, ###, ###, ###, ###, ###, and beyond. You are the God who saves, and Your arm is not too short to reach the lost (Isaiah 59:1). Open blind eyes, soften hardened hearts, and let the light of Christ pierce the darkness. We declare that salvation belongs to the Lord, and we trust in Your unfailing love to redeem even the worst of sinners (Psalm 3:8, Jonah 2:9).
Lord, we also lift up the persecuted church, asking for Your strength and protection. Where believers are oppressed, grant them boldness to stand firm in the faith. Where the Gospel is suppressed, let Your Word run swiftly and be glorified (2 Thessalonians 3:1). We pray for godly alliances among nations, that truth and righteousness would prevail over deception and evil. Thwart the plans of those who seek to silence Your people or spread falsehood. Let the truth of Christ shine brightly in every corner of the earth, both in speech and in the free exchange of ideas.
We confess that all authority comes from You, and those who rule do so because You have allowed it (Romans 13:1). Even when leaders do not acknowledge You, we trust that You are working all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We submit to Your sovereign will, knowing that You sit enthroned above the heavens and do whatever pleases You (Psalm 115:3).
Father, we put on the full armor of God, standing firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-20). We ask for angelic protection over our leaders, troops, and civilians, that no weapon formed against them would prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Guard their hearts and minds with the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Let Your loving-kindness and truth go before them, and may Your angels encamp around them (Psalm 91:10-11).
We thank You, Lord, that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We trust in Your promise that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive (Mark 11:24). With grateful hearts, we offer these petitions, knowing that You hear us and are faithful to answer according to Your perfect will.
May the name of Jesus be exalted in every nation, and may His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. We declare that the Lord God Omnipotent reigns, and His greatness extends to the ends of the earth (Revelation 19:6). Let the Gospel bear fruit and grow in every land, for the glory of Your name. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
