The Scripture says, “Whether we be afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation.” Let not this mother, then, be swallowed up by her present distress, but understand that these very trials, if borne with faith, can work in her that patient endurance which the Apostle extols. The dangers from her former husband and the lack of bread are not proofs that God has forsaken her; they are a summons to run to the mountain of prayer, even as Christ withdrew to the lonely place to teach us where true help is found. Let her cry out from the depths, not merely for a safe house or a steady income, but first for the bread that endures unto eternal life.

Yet let her not expect deliverance to come in the manner she imagines. For when the Lord Himself was born, His mother fled by night, the innocents were slaughtered, and lamentation filled the air. Out of those very contraries God wrought salvation for the world. So, too, He may permit this season of want and fear in order to draw her away from every false refuge and to make her cling to Him alone. I charge her, then, to put on lowliness of mind and to cast away all pride that whispers she can manage by her own strength. “Blessed are the poor in spirit,” says Christ, for such are emptied of self and ready to be filled by grace.

Do not seek after the fickle applause of the multitude or the comfort of friends who speak smooth things but leave the soul in its sickness. Rather, seek handfuls of true and sober companions who will point you to the Cross, not merely to a full cupboard. If, for a time, you are isolated, yet you are not alone; the Lord is near to the crushed heart, and He will send what is needful. But stretch every nerve toward the one thing that is necessary: your own salvation. For now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation. No brother, no mother, no well‑meaning intercessor can redeem the soul that neglects its own salvation. The man who threatens you can destroy the body, but he cannot touch the soul that has hidden itself in Christ.

Let her, therefore, cry out with tears, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” This is the true deliverance: to be loosed from the chains of sin and to be found in Him, partaker of His sufferings, that she may also partake of His consolation. Our hope for her is steadfast, because we know that the God of all mercies can turn the wilderness into a harbor, the storm into a calm, and the enemy’s malice into her eternal gain. But let her not delay; let her seek the Lord while He may be found, and let us all join our prayers to hers, that both her temporal safety and, far more, the salvation of her whole household may shine forth to the praise of His glory.

Your heart for this family is clear, and we are bringing these urgent needs before the Lord with you. The weight of finding safe housing without income, while facing threats from a man in the grip of addiction, is a crushing burden. We are praying for God to make a way where there seems to be no way, to provide shelter and to be her defender. Cry out to Him as David did, for He is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

While we lift up her practical needs, the deepest cry of your request takes us to the heart of everything. You asked most importantly for her deliverance and salvation. That word, salvation, holds the whole answer. It is found in one person alone, that name which means the Lord saves. There is no other name given among men by which we must be saved. It is not a prize she earns by being good enough or pulling herself up; it is a gift of God’s grace, received through simple faith in Jesus Christ. The Scriptures declare that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

This salvation is a work God does within a person. He gives the will and the desire to turn to Him, and then He provides the power to follow through, working in her so that her heart is made single in its focus. For no one can serve two masters. The world offers temporary relief, but only Christ offers eternal forgiveness and a clean heart. He came with a single, clear mission: to seek and to save that which was lost. He understands suffering, having been perfected through it Himself, and He is able to meet her in the depths of her fear and loneliness.

We are also praying specifically against that isolation and for supportive, godly friends to surround her. In one sense, when a person trusts in Christ, they are brought into a new family that runs deeper than blood. He stretches out His hand toward His disciples and says, “Here are my mother and my brothers.” We pray she will not only find safety from the threats nearby but will also find a true home among the people of God, where she can be pointed again and again to the straight gate and narrow path that leads to life. We stand with you in faith, trusting that her eternal safety is far more important than any earthly calm, and that the One who is making a captain of our salvation will bring His own safely home.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with this heartfelt prayer request. It has been on our hearts and minds these past days as we continue to lift up this dear sister and her precious sons before the Lord. We have prayed earnestly for their safety, asking God to surround them with His protective angels and shield them from any harm or threat from the enemy. Father, we ask that You would provide this family with safe, stable housing and meet all their physical needs according to Your riches in glory.

We have also interceded for this mother’s heart, asking the Holy Spirit to comfort her in her loneliness and draw near to her in a tangible way. Lord, we pray You would bring godly, supportive friends into her life—believers who will walk alongside her, encourage her, and remind her of Your love and faithfulness. Most importantly, we have cried out for her salvation, asking that the eyes of her heart would be opened to the truth of the Gospel and that she would experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

If You have already moved in miraculous ways—if she has found safety, provision, or a breakthrough in any of these areas—we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report! Please share how God has answered so we can rejoice with you. If the battle still feels heavy, we want you to know we are not stepping away. We will continue to stand in the gap, lifting this family up in prayer until Your perfect will is accomplished in their lives.

May the Lord bless this dear sister and her sons with His peace that surpasses all understanding. May He strengthen her faith, provide for her every need, and draw her into a deeper relationship with Him. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
