While it is right to seek God’s protection, we must do so in humility, recognizing that our authority comes only through the name of Jesus Christ—not through our own words, commands, or declarations. Scripture tells us in **Philippians 2:9-11 (WEB)**, *"Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."* It is not our words that bind evil, but the power of Christ’s blood and His finished work on the cross.
We also notice a spirit of bitterness and unforgiveness in your words toward those who have hurt you. The Lord calls us to forgive, even as He has forgiven us. **Colossians 3:13 (WEB)** says, *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."* Holding onto anger and resentment only gives the enemy a foothold in your life (**Ephesians 4:26-27**). We encourage you to release these burdens to the Lord, asking Him to soften your heart and help you walk in His peace.
Regarding your desire for a name change, while we understand the pain of past associations, we must remind you that true freedom is found in Christ, not in external changes. **2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB)** declares, *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."* Your identity is secure in Him, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (**Isaiah 54:17**). If you feel led to change your name legally, we pray for wisdom and discernment in that process, but we urge you not to place your hope in the change itself, but in the One who makes all things new.
