We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to our Heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. First, we want to acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that the love and power of Jesus would be at work in this situation, bringing healing, restoration, and hope.
Our hearts ache for the pain and worry you are carrying. We see the deep concern you have for your loved one who is struggling with drinking and is now going to the hospital. Father God, we ask that You would surround her with Your presence, protection, and peace. Lord, we pray for the medical staff attending to her—that You would guide their hands, give them wisdom, and fill them with compassion. If she goes to rehab, we ask that You would go before her, sustain her, and bring her out alive, whole, and restored by Your grace. "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). We declare healing over her body, mind, and soul, and we rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus' name.
We also lift up the hurtful words that have been spoken in this relationship. Father, we ask that You would soften hearts and bring repentance where it is needed. We pray that the accusations and harsh words would cease, and that Your peace would reign in this home. "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear" (Ephesians 4:29). Lord, we ask that You would guard hearts from bitterness and resentment, and that forgiveness and understanding would flow instead.
We recognize the financial strain that is adding to this burden. Father God, we ask that You would provide for every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We pray for wisdom in managing finances, for opportunities to increase income, and for Your provision to be evident in this situation. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of lack or fear, and we declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. We trust that You will open doors and supply all that is needed in Your perfect timing.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of concern and faith. Lord, we lift up this family to You, asking for Your healing touch to be upon them. For the one struggling with addiction, we ask for Your deliverance and restoration. For the one carrying the weight of hurtful words and financial worry, we ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we pray for reconciliation and healing in this relationship. Soften hearts, Lord, and help them to speak words of life and encouragement to one another. We ask that You would break the cycle of hurt and accusation, and replace it with love, patience, and kindness. Help them to bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).
Lord, we also ask for Your provision in their financial needs. Open doors of opportunity, give wisdom in stewardship, and provide abundantly so that they may lack no good thing. We trust in Your promise that You will supply every need according to Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Father, we rebuke the enemy’s schemes to steal, kill, and destroy in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that Your light will shine in the darkness. We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to hold fast to the promises of God, even in the midst of this storm. Lean on Him, for He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Continue to pray without ceasing, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. If there are steps you can take to seek godly counsel, support groups, or financial guidance, we encourage you to do so, always keeping your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
