We lift up your precious grandson in fifth grade, asking the Lord to guide his steps and shape his heart according to God’s will. Father, we pray that You would surround him with godly influences—friends who love You and seek to honor You in their words and actions. Help him to recognize the difference between those who will draw him closer to You and those who might lead him astray. "Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night" (Psalm 1:1-2).
Lord, we ask that You would give him wisdom beyond his years to make choices that reflect Your truth. Strengthen his resolve to stand firm in what is right, even when it is difficult or unpopular. "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). May he find his identity in You, not in the approval of others, and may his decisions be rooted in a desire to please You above all else.
We also pray for his teachers and the adults in his life, that they would model integrity, kindness, and godly character. Give them discernment to guide him and patience to nurture his spirit. May Your Word be a lamp to his feet and a light to his path (Psalm 119:105), illuminating the way forward in every situation he faces.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of rebellion, peer pressure, or temptation that may seek to influence him. We declare that he is covered by the blood of Jesus and that Your Holy Spirit lives within him, guiding and protecting him. Help him to walk in the freedom and purpose You have for him, free from the snares of the enemy.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who loves him even more than we do and who holds his future in His hands. Amen.
