Father, we thank You for the testimony of past revivals and even reformations, for revivalists and reformers, patriarchs, apostles and prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. We ask for revival of salvation, first love and reformation in ourselves, our churches, families, friends and even all peoples, 1 Tim 2:1-4, for this pleases You, since You desire all people groups and positions to be saved and come to the knowledge of The Truth, 1 Tim 2:3-4.

Jesus, revive and reform us, our pastors, leaders, churches, cities, regions, states, nations and indeed as You live, let all the earth be filled with Your glory, Numbers 11:24, Ps 72:19, even as the waters cover the seas, Isa 11:9. Hab 2:14. Shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 4:6, enlighten the eyes of our understanding, Eph 1:17-18, love Y and let us be sanctified and washed in The Truth of the Water of Your Word, John 17:17, Eph 5:25-26, until You present us to Yourself as Your glorious church with no spot or wrinkle or any such blemish, Eph 5:26-31, this mystery is great, but I speak of Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33.

Let it be, Holy Spirit, that we participate with Your sanctifying work, 1 Pet 1:2, so we may by The Spirit put to death the deeds of the flesh, Rom 8:13, and thus by not by our might, nor power, but by My Spirit, says The LORD, Zech 4:6, may we walk in the works You prepared in advance for us to do, Eph 2:10, and thus make ourselves ready as The Bride for Jesus Christ Our Husband, Rev 19:7, and receive the final capstone of white linens, pure and bright, for the fine linens are the righteous deeds of the saints, Rev 19:8...

It is through Jesus Christ The Mediator of this New Covenant, 1 Tim 2:5, inaugurated by the offering of Yourself once for all, Heb 12:24, we offer these prayers with thanksgiving for obtaining the eternal inheritance, Heb 9:15, in advance, Mk 11:24, for by a single offering He has made perfect for all time those who are being sanctified, Heb 10:14, so we may obey the eternal Gospel to fear God and give You glory, Rev 14:6-7, for if You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with You is forgiveness, that You mayest be feared, Ps 130:3-4.

And lastly we thank You that You were in Christ by The Fullness of The Spirit without measure, Jn 3:34, reconciling the world back to Yourself, not counting our sins against us, and have given us the same ministry of reconciliation, 2 Cor 5:19. Help us do the work of an evangelist, and thus fulfill that ministry, 2 Tim 4:5. May we be serve You in our spirit in the preaching of the Gospel of Your Son, Rom 1:9, that we might bear much fruit, Jn 15:7-8, not only of The Holy Spirit, Gal 5:22-23, but a harvest of souls in order to bring others from the nations into Your sheepfold, Jn 10:16, helping You as Your helpmeets, gathering and calling others to come, Luke 14:21-23, to the Marriage Supper of The Lamb, Isa 25:6, Matt 22:1-2, and to the discipleship of sanctification by continually knowing Truth by continuing in Your Word, John 8:31-32, and continuing to patiently continue to call all of us to the holiness without which no one will see The Lord, Heb 12:14, as Your holy people, Your own possession, called out of darkness into Your marvelous light, enabling and emboldening us with Power from on High to be witnesses, Acts 1:8, proclaiming Your excellencies 1 Peter 2:9. Thank You Father, Thank You Jesus and Thank You Holy Spirit, 2 Cor 13:14, in Jesus' Name, Jn 14:13-14, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We join with you in this powerful cry for revival, sanctification, and the ministry of reconciliation, standing firmly on the truth of God’s Word. Your prayer is a beautiful alignment with Scripture, and we lift it up together, believing that the Lord hears and will answer according to His perfect will.

The longing for revival is a holy one, for it is God Himself who stirs the hearts of His people to return to their first love (Revelation 2:4-5). We echo your plea for salvation, reformation, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Church, that we may be washed by the water of the Word (Ephesians 5:26) and made ready as a pure and spotless Bride for Christ (Revelation 19:7-8). The sanctifying work of the Spirit is essential, for without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). Let us not grow weary in pursuing righteousness, for the Father desires a people set apart for His glory.

We are reminded that revival begins in the individual heart, our own hearts, before it spreads to families, churches, and nations. The call to repentance and renewal is not just for the lost but for the Body of Christ, that we may walk in the fullness of the Spirit (Galatians 5:16) and bear fruit that remains (John 15:16). The ministry of reconciliation is a sacred trust, for we are ambassadors of Christ, pleading with the world to be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). May we faithfully proclaim the Gospel, not in our own strength, but in the power of the Holy Spirit (Zechariah 4:6), that souls may be saved and added to the Lord’s harvest.

Let us also remember that true revival is marked by a return to biblical truth. In an age where many have exchanged the truth for a lie (Romans 1:25), we must hold fast to the Word of God as our standard. The Church is called to be a light in the darkness, a city on a hill (Matthew 5:14), and this can only happen as we submit to the sanctifying work of the Spirit and the washing of the Word. We must guard against compromise, whether in doctrine or in deed, for the Lord is coming for a Bride without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27).

We pray now with you, lifting these petitions before the throne of grace:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to You in prayer. We cry out for revival, first in our own hearts, then in our families, churches, and nations. Pour out Your Spirit upon us, O Lord, that we may be cleansed by the water of Your Word and made holy as You are holy. Sanctify us, Father, that we may walk in the works You have prepared for us and bear fruit that glorifies Your name.

Lord Jesus, we ask that You would revive Your Church, that we may love You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Shine Your light into the darkness, that many may come to know You as Savior and Lord. Equip us for the ministry of reconciliation, that we may boldly proclaim the Gospel and make disciples of all nations. Prepare us as Your Bride, spotless and radiant, ready for the day of Your return.

Holy Spirit, we yield to Your sanctifying work. Convict us of sin, lead us into all truth, and empower us to walk in righteousness. Help us to put to death the deeds of the flesh and to live by the Spirit, that we may fulfill the calling You have placed upon us. Fill us afresh with Your power, that we may be witnesses to the ends of the earth.

Father, we thank You for the promise that if we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us (1 John 5:14). We trust in Your faithfulness to complete the work You have begun in us (Philippians 1:6). May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We offer this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to whom be all glory, honor, and praise forever and ever. Amen.

So often we think of revival as a sweeping, external event, but in the quiet places of our lives, the Spirit is already at work, drawing us back to our first love and washing us with the Word one day at a time. Your prayer is itself a participation in that sanctifying work, a simple and powerful “yes” to God’s desire to present us as a radiant Bride.

We’re learning that sanctification isn’t a lonely struggle; it’s a walk where our faithful steps meet the Spirit’s power. When we turn from what drags us down and return to Jesus, the flame of revival is kindled within us, and from there it can spread to our homes, churches, and communities. That daily renewal, that moment-by-moment dependence, is the ground where great harvests grow. It encourages us to remember that the same Spirit who filled the early apostles fills us now, ready to embolden us as witnesses and help us do the work of reconciliation right where we are.

As you continue to pray these grand, glorious requests, consider also choosing one tangible expression this week: maybe a note of encouragement to a pastor, a conversation with a neighbor far from God, or simply a quiet act of service done in Jesus’ name. God often uses our smallest obediences to unlock larger works of grace.

Let’s pray together: Father, thank You for stirring this prayer for revival in every corner of the earth. Begin in us, wash us afresh with the water of Your Word, and let Your Spirit put to death all that is not of You. Make us ready as a Bride who loves her Bridegroom, and fill our mouths with the good news of reconciliation. Help us walk in the works You have prepared, not by our own strength, but by Your Spirit. The prayer you have lifted up is a great and weighty thing, full of the promises of God and the longing of a soul stirred by the Spirit. It is right and good that you bring these Scriptures before the throne, for they are the very cords that bind the heart of God to His people. Your petition rises like incense, and it is evident you have been much in the Word, desiring to be washed by it, even as our Lord cleanses His Church by the washing of water through the Word.

Yet, mark this well: the power is not in the length or the arrangement of the prayer, but in the God who hears and the Mediator who presents it. The Word of God is omnipotent because His will stands behind it. When He commanded light to shine out of darkness, there was light. So too, when His Word goes forth for revival and sanctification, it cannot return void. It will prosper in the very thing for which He sent it. The promise you cling to, that He may present to Himself a glorious Church without spot or wrinkle, is not a wish that might fail; it is the fixed purpose of Sovereign Grace, secured by the blood of the everlasting covenant. Because He willed it, because He has spoken it, it must be done.

You ask for the Spirit’s sanctifying work, and you do well to remember that that work is twofold. There is the sanctification once and for all, accomplished by the offering of the body of Jesus Christ. In that sense, every believer is perfected forever, cleansed as surely as the leper was cleansed who showed himself to the priest. But then there is the daily washing of the feet, the practical holiness worked out in us by the Spirit through the truth. Our poor prayers, which are the feet of our soul running after God, need this constant washing. Our holy things are defiled until Jesus touches them. But oh, the wonder of it! He does not disdain to wash even my feet. He who made heaven and earth, before whom the angels veil their faces, condescends to cleanse my unworthy actions and my feeble prayers. This is the very secret of revival: not that we make ourselves clean, but that we submit to the soap and water of His Word, allowing the Spirit to apply it with power.

Do not think, however, that revival comes by the mere agitation of men. We cannot schedule it, nor can we manufacture it by human zeal alone, however well-intentioned. "Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord." There never was a revival yet brought about but by the Sovereign Spirit brooding over chaos and bringing order and life. The worst season in the Church often follows a false excitement, a revival that had no root. Therefore, let us walk with God in this thing, confessing our dependence. Let us meet Him often in private, wrestling like Jacob until the breaking of the day. Let us be much in that simple, importunate cry: "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." This is the prayer of Christ Himself, and it must be answered.

You long for the ministry of reconciliation to be fulfilled, and for the marriage supper of the Lamb to be furnished with guests. This too is the work of God, yet it is also given to us as a sacred trust. But remember, the minister must first be warmed if he is to warm others. The Church must herself see the King in His beauty before she can adequately call others to behold Him. When Zion travails, she brings forth children. Seek then, for yourself and for your brethren, that first love, that nearness to the bleeding side of Jesus, from which all true power for witness flows. When the heart is aglow with the love of Christ, the tongue cannot be silent. The world will know that a revival has come, not by great fanfares, but by the quiet, deep, and overflowing godliness of ordinary believers, and by the sudden ingathering of the most unlikely souls, those who seemed far off, desert souls made to blossom like the rose.

Be not discouraged if opposition rises, or if some who seemed to run well turn back. It has always been so. The plowman does not look for a harvest without first disturbing the soil. The Gospel is a two-edged sword; it pierces and divides even as it heals. Where the Spirit is mightily at work, the enemy is also stirred. Lay hold, then, on this: "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" The God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, He it is who will make us perfect in every good work to do His will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in His sight. This promise is not a maybe; it is a "shall." Let your soul rest in it. Walk with Him in secret, and you shall see the desire of your heart in His own time and way.

The prayer you have lifted up is filled with a holy desire, and you have woven together many words of Scripture as a garland of supplication. Yet take care that you do not think the sanctification for which you ask is to be found only in lofty words or in the fervor of a moment. The Apostle tells you plainly, “This is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye abstain from all fornication.” For there is an evil that fills the soul like a swine with mire, and wherever it enters it chokes the senses with its foul odor. You long to be made ready as a bride for Christ; then you must put to death every deed of the flesh, not by your own might, but by the Spirit. But do not think this is done without a struggle, without daily dying to the lusts that war against the soul. If you would see revival, let it begin in the secret chamber of your own heart. Wash your soul with tears of repentance as much as with the water of the Word.

You pray for the ministry of reconciliation. This is an excellent thing, for God has committed to us the word of reconciliation. But see to it that you are not at enmity with your brother while you speak of peace. Let not the sun go down upon your wrath, for the devil makes the wound deeper in the solitude of the night. If you would be an ambassador of Christ, let your own life be first reconciled to God in every hidden part. And do not imagine that you can bring others into the marriage supper of the Lamb while your own garment is stained. The fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints, and these are not worked in a day, but by patient continuance in well-doing.

Remember that the Bridegroom came in silence, allowing His friend to put the bride’s hand into His. So now, it is not by loud proclamations alone that the Church is gathered, but by the quiet, faithful witness of those who have been washed and are being sanctified. The Holy Spirit descended not while Christ was yet present, but after His ascension, that we might learn to long for Him earnestly. So let your longing for revival be purified by a patient waiting, and by that holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. Do not only call upon the name of the Lord, but depart from iniquity. Then your prayer will rise as incense, and you will see the glory of God filling the earth as the waters cover the sea, beginning with the quiet conquest of your own soul.
