Father, we thank You for the testimony of past revivals and even reformations, for revivalists and reformers, patriarchs, apostles and prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. We ask for revival and reformation in ourselves, our churches, families, friends and even all peoples, 1 Tim 2:1-2, for this pleases You, since You desire all people groups and positions to be saved and come to the knowledge of The Truth, 1 Tim 2:3-4.

Jesus, revive and reform us, our pastors, leaders, churches, cities, regions, states, nations and indeed as You live, let all the earth be filled with Your glory, Numbers 11:24, Ps 72:19, even as the waters cover the seas, Isa 11:9. Hab 2:14. Shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 4:6, enlighten the eyes of our understanding, Eph 1:17-18, love Y and let us be sanctified and washed in The Truth of the Water of Your Word, John 17:17, Eph 5:25-26, until You present us to Yourself as Your glorious church with no spot or wrinkle or any such blemish, Eph 5:26-31, this mystery is great, but I speak of Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33.

Let it be, Holy Spirit, that we participate with Your sanctifying work, 1 Pet 1:2, so we may by The Spirit put to death the deeds of the flesh, Rom 8:13, and thus by not by our might, nor power, but by My Spirit, says The LORD, Zech 4:6, may we walk in the works You prepared in advance for us to do, Eph 2:10, and thus make ourselves ready as The Bride for Jesus Christ Our Husband, Rev 19:7, and receive the final capstone of white linens, pure and bright, for the fine linens are the righteous deeds of the saints, Rev 19:8...

It is through Jesus Christ The Mediator of this New Covenant, 1 Tim 2:5, inaugurated by the offering of Yourself once for all, Heb 12:24, we offer these prayers with thanksgiving for obtaining the eternal inheritance, Heb 9:15, in advance, Mk 11:24, for by a single offering He has made perfect for all time those who are being sanctified, Heb 10:14, so we may obey the eternal Gospel to fear God and give You glory, Rev 14:6-7, for if You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with You is forgiveness, that You mayest be feared, Ps 130:3-4.

And lastly we thank You that You were in Christ by The Fullness of The Spirit without measure, Jn 3:34, reconciling the world back to Yourself, not counting our sins against us, and have given us the same ministry of reconciliation, 2 Cor 5:19. Help us do the work of an evangelist, and thus fulfill that ministry, 2 Tim 4:5. May we be serve You in our spirit in the preaching of the Gospel of Your Son, Rom 1:9, that we might bear much fruit, Jn 15:7-8, not only of The Holy Spirit, Gal 5:22-23, but a harvest of souls in order to bring others from the nations into Your sheepfold, Jn 10:16, helping You as Your helpmeets, gathering and calling others to come, Luke 14:21-23, to the Marriage Supper of The Lamb, Isa 25:6, Matt 22:1-2, and to the discipleship of sanctification by continually knowing Truth by continuing in Your Word, John 8:31-32, and continuing to patiently continue to call all of us to the holiness without which no one will see The Lord, Heb 12:14, as Your holy people, Your own possession, called out of darkness into Your marvelous light, enabling and emboldening us with Power from on High to be witnesses, Acts 1:8, proclaiming Your excellencies 1 Peter 2:9. We join our hearts with yours in this powerful cry for revival, reformation, and sanctification, lifting it before the throne of grace with great expectation. Your prayer is deeply rooted in Scripture, and we stand in agreement with you, believing that God hears and answers the prayers of His people when we seek His face with humility and faith.

We are reminded that revival begins in the individual heart before it spreads to the church, the community, and the nations. The Word declares, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). Revival is not merely an emotional experience but a return to holiness, a washing by the water of the Word, and a surrender to the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. As you prayed, we affirm that Christ gave Himself for the church "that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish" (Ephesians 5:26-27). This is the glorious destiny of the Bride of Christ, and we must pursue it with fervent hearts.

We also lift up the call for reformation, not just in doctrine but in practice. The church must align itself with the full counsel of God’s Word, rejecting compromise and worldly influences that have crept in. The Lord desires truth in the inward parts (Psalm 51:6), and we must be willing to let the Holy Spirit expose and root out anything that does not align with His righteousness. "Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14). This is not a call to legalism but to a life of consecration, where we daily die to self and live for Christ.

We rejoice in the ministry of reconciliation that has been entrusted to us (2 Corinthians 5:19). As ambassadors of Christ, we are called to proclaim the Gospel with boldness, inviting the lost into the fold of the Good Shepherd. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37-38). We must pray for workers to be raised up, for hearts to be softened, and for the light of Christ to penetrate the darkness. The fields are white unto harvest (John 4:35), and we must be faithful to sow, water, and trust God for the increase.

Let us also remember that revival and reformation require repentance. We must examine our own hearts, confess our sins, and turn away from anything that hinders our walk with the Lord. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin, and His grace empowers us to live victoriously. We must not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

Father, we come before You with hearts ablaze for Your glory. We thank You for the promise of revival and reformation, for the washing of the Word, and for the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. We ask that You would pour out Your Spirit upon Your people, that we may be filled with power from on high to be Your witnesses to the ends of the earth. Revive us, O Lord, and let Your glory fill the earth as the waters cover the sea. Raise up a generation that will walk in holiness, proclaim Your truth, and bring many into the kingdom. May we be a pure and spotless Bride, ready for the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We pray for pastors, leaders, and churches to be awakened to their calling, to preach the full Gospel without compromise, and to lead Your people into deeper intimacy with You. May the fire of Your Spirit burn away all lukewarmness, complacency, and sin. Let Your Word go forth with power, convicting hearts, transforming lives, and bringing healing to the nations. We declare that the earth will be filled with the knowledge of Your glory, and every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

We thank You, Father, for the ministry of reconciliation. Empower us to be faithful ambassadors, sharing the love of Christ with boldness and compassion. May we see a great harvest of souls, and may the lost be found, the broken be healed, and the captives be set free. We are moved by the way this prayer rises, not as a list of requests, but as a whole heart leaning into the mystery of Christ and His Church. You’ve laid hold of something beautiful: the desire to be washed and made ready, not by gritting your teeth, but by the Spirit’s quiet, transforming work through the Word. That longing itself is evidence He is already at work in you.

Something that may steady you on the days this feels distant: sanctification is a slow, daily communion, not a sudden attainment. The same Jesus who will one day present His Church in splendor is right now, in this ordinary hour, present with you, shining light into one corner of your understanding, loosening one old affection, planting one fresh longing for holiness. The grand vision you’ve prayed is made up of a thousand small yieldings. When you sit with the Scriptures, you’re not just studying; you’re letting Him wash you. When you turn from a familiar temptation, even imperfectly, you’re participating in what He is doing. These are not small things. They are the making-ready of a bride.

Since your heart is set on participating in that preparation, you might find it helpful to take one phrase from your own prayer, like “shine in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ”, and carry it with you through the hours of a single day. Let it surface while you work, while you rest, while you talk with someone. Ask Him simply, “Lord, do this now in me.” That turns a grand prayer into a lived conversation.

We join you now: Father, thank You that You have not left us to clean ourselves up. By Your Spirit, continue Your quiet, faithful work in our friend, washing, renewing, drawing the heart away from lesser loves and toward the glory of Jesus. The prayer you have set before the Lord is freighted with scriptural petitions and breathes a sincere desire for revival and holiness. Such a prayer cannot be offered in vain, for it is according to the will of God that His people be sanctified and made ready as a bride for her Husband. Yet let me press this upon you: while you pray for revival, see that you do not merely gaze upon it as a curiosity when it comes. Many a work of the Spirit has been damaged by being made a spectacle, drawing the eyes of men to the outward rather than to the inward work. True revival is the work of the Holy Ghost alone, but He uses instruments, the Word preached, the prayers of the saints, and the earnest efforts of consecrated men and women. Do not think that times of refreshing will exonerate you from past idleness; rather, let them stir you to greater diligence. As you plead for the sanctification of the whole church, lay hold on the promise that you have been sanctified once for all by the offering of the body of Jesus Christ. That is the finished work of the Son, applied by the Spirit. Yet the Holy Ghost never believes for a man, nor does He mortify the flesh in our place without our own striving. The flesh must be kept under, buffeted, brought into subjection, else we shall be castaways. Practical, personal, vital holiness, the kind that keeps by night and by day, in the dark as in the light, is that without which no one shall see the Lord.

Take the Word of God as the sword of the Spirit for this inward warfare. It is by the washing of water by the Word that we are daily cleansed and made fit for the Master’s use. That same Word will try you, as it tried Joseph, until your faith is found to praise and honor. Do not shrink from its searching edge; the Word made flesh and the Word inspired are joined together for our sanctification. Let them pierce the marrow of your soul and divide truth from self-deception. When you are tried, you will then know what it is to be upheld by the promise until the time that His Word comes to set you free. Press on, then, not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord, yet always in connection with your own earnest efforts. The ministry of reconciliation is given to all who are themselves reconciled. Go, therefore, and call others to the wedding feast. The Lord has no hands but our hands, no lips but our lips, to gather in His elect. Let the fire of revival make you a burning and shining light, so that the very atmosphere around you may be charged with the power of God. And remember, Divine Omnipotence is the doctrine of a revival; when it pleases the Lord to work, the plowman overtakes the reaper, and the mountains drop sweet wine. Only, abide in Christ, and let His words abide in you, that you may bear much fruit to the glory of His grace.

Your prayer rises like incense, a sweet aroma of longing for the Bridegroom’s voice. To plead for revival and for the church to be washed pure by the Word, to ask for the ministry of reconciliation, to hunger that all the earth be filled with His glory, these petitions are nothing less than the cry of the Spirit within the earnest soul. Heaven already echoes your intercession, for this is God’s own desire, and you have made it your own.

Yet consider: when we pray for the great awakening of the whole Church, we must first be ourselves the pattern of that awakening. The Apostle charges his disciple to be an example in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Not merely in speaking of revival, but in living as a model sculpted by grace, so that others see a living law, a rule and standard of godliness. If you long for the Bride to be without spot or wrinkle, begin with the chamber of your own heart. Let the Word dwell richly there, scrubbing away every stain of the old life, day by day, until Christ’s own image is reflected. For He sanctifies and cleanses her by the washing of water with the Word, and this washing is not a momentary sprinkling but a continual bath. Do not only petition for it; submit to it. Let every page of Scripture be a basin for your soul, every command a cleansing stream.

Remember, too, who it is that calls you. You were not summoned because of your rank or worthiness. Among the faithful are the great and the small, the high-born and the obscure, yet all stand on the same ground, beloved of God and called to be saints. Why then should pride or presumption ever rise? You have nothing you did not receive; your sanctification is from love alone. The laver of regeneration scrubbed away your former filth, and you were made holy not by your own deeds but by the loving-kindness of God. Walk therefore in humility. The true revival never exalts self; it lays the creature low and magnifies the Giver.

Your prayer mentions the ministry of reconciliation. This is a high calling, but it is entrusted to those who have first been reconciled. How can you announce the end of enmity if your own life does not display peace with God? The world will not believe our good tidings unless they see men and women whose very habits preach. Make a custom of holiness as one makes a custom of washing hands before prayer. By frequent repetition, let almsgiving become as natural as breathing; let purity of speech be as habitual as the sign of the cross that the hand traces unbidden. Great is the power of habit. If you form yourself now to constantly turn from sin and to do righteousness, you will find that in the day of trial you stand firm, not by straining effort, but by holy instinct.

Do not grow weary if the full harvest delays. The joy of the friend of the Bridegroom is to stand and hear His voice. When you labor in prayer and in the word of the Gospel, you are participating in that joy. Even now, the Bride is being made ready, and each righteous deed you perform by the Spirit adds a thread to the fine linen that will be her radiance. Yet know this: if ever you stumble after so great gifts, God has not shut the door of repentance. He has opened it wide, granting seasons of healing. Only do not presume on grace, but run to it quickly. The chastenings of love are part of the washing too.

So press on. Let your life be a loud doxology. When you ask for revival, let your own revived conduct be the first answer to that prayer. As iron sharpens iron, your example will kindle others. Let the light of the knowledge of the glory of God shine out from your transfigured soul, so that fellow believers, seeing your good works, may long for the same springs of living water. The marriage supper is prepared, but the wise virgins keep oil in their lamps. Be not content with longing; be filled with the Spirit’s oil now, in practical, persevering love. Then, whether in quiet daily witness or in a great harvest of souls, you will truly be a helpmeet of the Bridegroom, calling others to come. May the God of all grace cause you to abound in this hope, and may the voice of the Beloved sound ever clearer in your heart until day dawns and the shadows flee away.

Your prayer draws together so many threads of what the Lord desires for His people: a pure bride, washed and ready, and a world reconciled to Him. There is a deep yearning here for the reality of revival that touches not only the church but spills over into every nation. That longing is from the Holy Spirit, and it aligns with the heart of God.

The Scriptures often picture this kind of widespread return to the Lord as a time of purification. Before Hezekiah’s great national restoration, the priests had to first go through the cleansing rites themselves; then they could enter the house of the Lord and remove all the defilement that had accumulated. Renewal began with those closest to the holy things being made clean. Then the joy and the blessing overflowed. So when you ask God to sanctify us, to wash His church by the water of the Word so that she might be presented without spot or wrinkle, you are praying in line with His own work. That washing is not a single event but a willing submission to the Spirit’s ongoing work of putting to death the deeds of the flesh. It is a participation in the very offering that has already made us perfect forever, while we are still being sanctified.

This same principle shows up in the water of purification from the ashes of the red heifer. A person who had been defiled could not rejoin the camp until that water had been sprinkled on him. What a picture of our need to be cleansed from every contamination of the world before we can fully enter into the Lord’s purposes! Sometimes we want the outward results of revival, the crowds, the conversions, the transformation of cities, without first allowing the living water to deal with the hidden things in our own lives. But Jesus cleanses His church by His Word so that she might be holy. That personal and corporate purification is essential to any lasting work of God.

Your passion for the ministry of reconciliation is beautiful. We have been entrusted with this message: that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their sins against them. And yet, in our zeal to see many come to the marriage supper of the Lamb, we must remember that evangelism is the byproduct of a healthy, maturing body. There is a danger, if we are not careful, to leave new believers at the front door without taking them further into the fullness of Christ. Infants in the faith, when not nurtured, become tossed about by every wind of teaching. So when you pray that we would not only harvest souls but bring them into the sheepfold and teach them to continue in the Word, you are asking for the kind of discipleship that makes the church ready as a bride for her Husband.

It is also freeing to recognize that not every member carries the same equipment. Some are gifted evangelists who naturally and joyfully share Christ with the ticket agent or the person in the next seat. Others serve with different gifts, yet all share in the one ministry of reconciliation. Far from making anyone feel guilty, this truth invites each of us to do the work of an evangelist in the way God has prepared, whether through direct proclamation or through the righteous deeds that become the fine linens of the bride. Those deeds are prepared in advance for us to walk in, and they are the Spirit’s fruit, not our own striving.

So take courage that your prayer holds together both the inward purification and the outward witness. The same Lord who commands all people everywhere to repent and be saved is the One who is sanctifying a people for His own possession. He does not mark iniquities but forgives, that He might be feared, and that fear is the beginning of a holy, reverent love. As you continue to seek His face, may you see the water of the Word wash over you and over our churches. May the eyes of your understanding be opened to know the hope of His calling. And may the joyful work of bringing others to the feast be a natural overflow of a life set apart for Him.
