Beloved of All
Your prayer for your father has been received with care, and we join you in lifting him and your whole family before our heavenly Father.
What a comfort to know the heart of the Father toward us. Jesus came to reveal the Father and to show us what the Father is like. The words Jesus spoke and the works He did were not His own alone, but the Father dwelling in Him doing His works. When Jesus healed sick bodies and restored broken lives, He was showing the Father's compassion and power at work. To see Jesus is to see the Father's love in action, and that same love is directed toward you and your father now.
Because of Jesus, you have direct access to the Father. You do not need another mediator. The Father Himself loves you because you have loved His Son and believed that He came from God, and you may come boldly to the Father in the name of Jesus. It is in that name that we pray with you.
We ask the Father, in the name of Jesus, to lay His healing hand upon your father. We ask Him to touch the effects of the stroke, to restore what has been damaged in the brain and nerves, to bring regulation to blood pressure and all vital signs, and to grant renewed strength for eating, speaking, and walking. We pray for the return of senses and reflexes, for healing of infections and seizures, and for the closing and healing of bedsores that have not healed. We pray that the Father would give wisdom and skill to every doctor, nurse, and caregiver who is working for his recovery, and guide their hands and decisions.
We also pray for the deeper need of forgiveness and peace with God. Forgiveness of sins comes only through Jesus Christ, who was set apart and sent by the Father to be the way to Him. There is no other way to the Father except through the Son, and when we honor the Son we honor the Father. We ask that your father and your family would know the assurance of sins forgiven through faith in Jesus, and the mercy, love, and protection that flow from belonging to Him.
We commit your household to the keeping power of our holy Father. He is greater than all, and no one can snatch His children from His hand. We ask Him to sanctify your home, to guard your family from every evil influence and every work intended for harm, and to surround you with His peace as you wait upon Him. The Father who has shown His care through the works of His Son is able to keep you through His own name.
We do not know all that the Father will do in His perfect wisdom and will, for Jesus Himself sought not His own will but the will of the Father who sent Him. Yet we know the Father hears those who come to Him through Jesus, and we trust His goodness to do what is best. May He strengthen you day by day, give you endurance in caregiving, and fill your home with the comfort of knowing that the Father is with you.
We continue to pray with you for a gracious work of restoration and for the Father's sustaining mercy over your father and your entire family, in the powerful name of Jesus.
