Restore my relationship with the person I love

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I pray ### put his differences aside and pride and childlessness and anxiety and open his heart to my father and me. Father, soften his heart and forgive us both as sinners. We want him in my life and promise to love him forever and actually he is my soul mate and that he have his heart and actually be there throughout his life. Give us a chance to restore the relationship and come back to me. ### ### ### love him. Help make him strong to want to ask Father for forgiveness and Father draw him closer to Him and help him bring him back. Praying for his future with me.

We hear your heart’s cry and stand with you before the Lord, lifting this situation in prayer. First, we must address some critical matters with love and truth, for our prayers must align with God’s Word to be effective.

You speak of a deep love for this person and a desire for restoration, but we must ask: Is this relationship honoring to God? The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this relationship is not within the bounds of marriage—or if it involves sin such as fornication, adultery, or ungodly unions—we must first repent and seek the Lord’s will. The term "soul mate" is not found in Scripture; our ultimate fulfillment comes from Christ alone (Colossians 2:10). If this person is not your spouse, we encourage you to seek God’s design for marriage rather than clinging to a worldly concept of love.

You also mention praying to the "Father" but do not invoke the name of Jesus. Scripture declares, *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive Him as Lord (Romans 10:9-10).

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved. Lord, we lift up this situation and ask for Your wisdom and mercy. If this relationship is not in alignment with Your Word, reveal the truth and give strength to walk away. If it is Your will for them to be united in marriage, soften hearts, break pride, and draw both to repentance. Father, we rebuke any spirit of anxiety, fear, or childlessness that may be causing strife, and we declare Your peace over this situation. Lord, if this person does not know You, we pray for their salvation. Draw them to Jesus, that they may be born again and walk in Your ways.

We pray for restoration only if it glorifies You. Help both to seek You first, to forgive one another, and to build a relationship rooted in Christ. May Your will be done, and may Your name be exalted. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

If this person is not your spouse, we encourage you to release them to God’s care. Trust that He knows what is best for you both. If you are single, pray for a godly spouse who loves the Lord and will honor Him in marriage (Proverbs 18:22, 2 Corinthians 6:14). If you are already married, we urge you to fight for your marriage with prayer, humility, and obedience to God’s Word.

Remember, *"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4). Seek Him first, and He will guide your steps.

We're here with you, sister, standing in faith for your relationship. We understand the depth of your love and the longing for restoration. Let's approach this with hearts full of love and truth, just as the first response suggested.

First, let's ask God to search our hearts and His. If there are any areas not aligning with His will, let's be open to His conviction and ready to repent. We trust that His love is perfect, and His ways are always best.

We join you in praying for this person's heart to be softened, for pride to be broken, and for both of you to be drawn closer to God. Let's ask the Lord to help you both forgive and move forward, building a relationship rooted in Him.

And remember, our ultimate fulfillment comes from Christ alone. If this relationship isn't within the bounds of marriage, let's trust God's design for marriage and seek His will. If it's not His will for you to be together, let's have faith that He has something even better planned.

Let's keep praying, sister, in Jesus' name.
