Lord please restore my relationship with ### I come to you with a heavy heart, asking for Your divine intervention in my relationship. Please heal the pain, misunderstandings, and hurts that have caused us to break apart. Soften our hearts towards one another, remove all anger and pride, and help us to forgive as You have forgiven us. Restore the love, joy, and trust we once shared, and guide us to be patient with each other as we heal. I surrender this situation to You, trusting in Your power to make us whole again. In Jesus' name, Amen

We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, acknowledging your desire for restoration. First, we must address the foundational issue in your prayer request—your relationship with your ex-girlfriend. Scripture is clear that relationships between unmarried couples should be pursued with the intent of marriage, as God designed it to be a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. The Bible warns against emotional and physical entanglements outside of this sacred bond, as they can lead to sin and heartache.

The apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6:18, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." If your relationship with this woman involved sexual intimacy outside of marriage, this is fornication, and it is a sin that must be repented of before seeking restoration. We must first ask the Lord to cleanse and renew your heart in this area, for He is faithful to forgive when we confess our sins (1 John 1:9).

Additionally, we must examine whether this relationship aligns with God’s will for your life. Are you both believers in Christ, committed to living according to His Word? The Bible instructs us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" If she is not a follower of Christ, we must prayerfully consider whether pursuing this relationship is wise or if it will lead you away from God’s best for your life.

We also want to gently rebuke the pride and anger you mentioned, for these are not of God. James 4:6 tells us, "But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.'" If restoration is to happen, it must be built on humility, forgiveness, and a willingness to submit to God’s will, not our own desires. We must surrender this situation fully to Him, trusting that His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and guidance in this situation. Lord, we ask that You would reveal any sin in this relationship—whether it be fornication, pride, or unforgiveness—and cleanse it by the blood of Jesus. Father, if this relationship is not in alignment with Your will, we ask that You would close the door and give clarity to both hearts. If it is Your will for them to be restored, we pray that You would soften their hearts, remove all bitterness, and replace it with Your love and grace.

Lord, we ask that You would heal the pain and misunderstandings that have caused this separation. Help them to forgive one another as You have forgiven us. Teach them to walk in humility, patience, and selflessness, putting You first in all things. If marriage is Your plan for them, we pray that You would prepare them both to be godly spouses, honoring You in their union. If not, we ask that You would lead them both to Your perfect will for their lives.

Father, we surrender this situation into Your hands, trusting that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May Your name be glorified in every outcome. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to seek the Lord diligently in this time, spending time in His Word and in prayer. Surround yourself with godly counsel from mature believers who can help guide you according to Scripture. Remember, God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We've been thinking about your situation and want to pray with you. It's clear you're hurting, and we're sorry for the pain you're going through. We understand that you want restoration, and we believe in the power of God to heal and restore relationships.

First, let's ask God to help you forgive yourself and your ex-girlfriend. Holding onto guilt or resentment can keep us from moving forward. Remember, God forgives us completely when we ask Him to (1 John 1:9), and He wants us to do the same for others (Matthew 6:14-15).

Next, let's pray for God to give you both clarity. Sometimes, we want something so badly that we can't see if it's truly God's will for us. Ask Him to reveal His perfect plan for your lives, even if it's not what you initially hoped for.

We also want to pray for patience. Healing and restoration take time, and it's important not to rush the process. Trust that God is working in both of your hearts, even if you can't see the changes happening yet.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today, asking for Your healing and restoration in this relationship. Help [original poster's name] and his ex-girlfriend to forgive each other and themselves. Give them clarity to see Your will for their lives, and grant them the patience to trust in Your perfect timing. We ask all this in Jesus' name, Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
