We hear your heart’s cry, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting this situation before the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. First, we must address the foundation of your request with love and truth. Your desire for restoration is understandable, but we must examine this through the lens of Scripture to ensure it aligns with God’s will for relationships and marriage.

The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you and your lover are not married, we must gently but firmly encourage you to consider whether this relationship is honoring to God. The term "lover" often implies a relationship that is not bound by the covenant of marriage, and Scripture warns against fornication, sexual intimacy outside of marriage, which is sin (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, Hebrews 13:4). If this is the case, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, as well as His guidance in pursuing a relationship that aligns with His design. Courtship should always have the goal of marriage, and marriage should be entered into with purity, commitment, and a shared faith in Christ.

If you and your lover are married, then we stand with you in praying for restoration, but we must also address the presence of a "third party" with biblical clarity. Adultery is a grievous sin that breaks the covenant of marriage and wounds deeply (Exodus 20:14, Proverbs 6:32). If this third party is involved in an adulterous relationship, we must rebuke this sin in Jesus’ name and call for repentance. The Bible is clear that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), but it also provides a path for reconciliation when there is genuine repentance and a commitment to rebuild trust (Matthew 19:8-9, 1 Corinthians 7:10-11). Restoration is possible, but it must begin with humility, repentance, and a turning away from sin.

If you are not yet married, we encourage you to seek God’s will for your life and to pursue a spouse who shares your faith in Christ. Unequally yoked relationships, where one partner is a believer and the other is not, often lead to heartache and spiritual conflict (2 Corinthians 6:14). Your focus should be on finding a godly spouse who will walk with you in faith, not merely on restoring a relationship that may not be honoring to God.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. Lord, we lift up this situation to You, asking for Your wisdom, mercy, and intervention. Father, we confess that without You, we are lost, and it is only through the blood of Jesus that we have access to You. We thank You for Your grace and forgiveness, and we ask that You would reveal Your will in this matter.

Lord, if this relationship is not aligned with Your Word, we pray that You would convict hearts and lead both individuals to repentance. Father, we rebuke the spirit of unfaithfulness, lust, and division in Jesus’ name. We ask that You would cast out any third party who is seeking to destroy this relationship, and we declare that no weapon formed against it shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). If this is a marriage, we pray for healing and restoration, but only if it is Your will and if both parties are willing to humble themselves, repent, and commit to rebuilding what has been broken.

Father, we ask that You would soften hearts and open eyes to see the truth. If this relationship is not honoring to You, we pray that You would lead both individuals to walk in purity and to seek Your will for their lives. Lord, we ask that You would bring godly counsel and accountability into their lives, and that they would find their identity and hope in You alone.

We declare that love, peace, and reconciliation are possible through Christ, but only if it is Your perfect will. Father, we trust in Your sovereignty and ask that You would work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We pray for strength, patience, and faith as this situation unfolds, and we ask that You would be glorified in every outcome.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or trusted Christian mentor who can walk with you through this time. Restoration is possible, but it must be rooted in repentance, forgiveness, and a commitment to follow God’s design for relationships. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). May God bless you and lead you into His perfect will.

We hear the ache in your words, and we're not overlooking how much it costs to reach out like this. When someone we love drifts away and another person seems to wedge between you, the loneliness and confusion can feel unbearable. You've done what you know to do, you're praying, you're asking others to stand with you, and you're holding on to hope. That takes courage.

One thing we've found helpful in times like these is gently shifting our focus from what we can't control to what we can. We can't manage someone else's choices or make a third party disappear, but we can invite God to search our own hearts, tend our wounds, and grow in us the kind of quiet strength that remains steady even when a relationship feels lost. Sometimes the deepest work God does in us starts right there, in the letting go and trusting Him with the outcome.

A practical step that often relieves some of the weight: find one trusted, mature believer you can talk with face to face. Not someone who will merely agree with you, but someone who will listen, pray with you honestly, and help you carry this without taking over. You don't have to sort through the hurt alone.

Father, we bring before You now. You see the pain of this separation and the tangled emotions that come with it. Hold him steady. Quiet the inner storm with Your presence, and give him the clarity and peace that only You can provide. Guard his heart from bitterness or despair, and lead him step by step in the way of wisdom and trust. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Great peace have they which love Your Law, peace that can exist when strife rages all around. Yet I hear your heart crying out for a peace tied to another, a restoration you ache to see with your own eyes. That longing, left unchecked, becomes an idol that breaks the heart when disappointed. But when you love God’s Word, your love is not wasted upon an unworthy object. The Lord would have your mind stayed on Him, for then perfect peace becomes a present possession, not a future hope dependent on a wandering affection.

You ask for love to be restored and a third party cast out. But consider what the Lord’s look of love did for fallen Peter, it broke him, then bound him up. That same immutable love can soften the hardest heart and call back the most wayward soul. Yet it does so to bring them first to reconciliation with God. He wants the love of your heart; He wants you to be at peace with Him. When we love God’s Law, we cease from covetousness, and that is great peace. Bear your sorrow with Him and see what peace, what perfect peace, you will enjoy, even with sorrows surging round.

Do you truly love Him? Then tell the Savior so. Kneel and say, “My gracious Lord, I do love You. Teach me to love You more.” Rehearse His deeds of grace toward you. And let that love flow out in acceptance of His will, not quarreling with it. If He should restore what you ask, let it be a token that the desire for peace with Him is sincere. But if not, remember, the men of grace have found glory begun below. The love of Jesus to His chosen made Him bind Himself to them; will He not also bind up your wounds and give you Himself as your great possession? To know that love is peace unspeakable, whether loved ones are far away or near at hand. It is enough. His love surpasses all earthly affections, and nothing shall offend those who make Him their all.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You seek peace and love, but the peace you long for must be rooted in the will of God, not in the desires of the flesh. The true war is not with a third party, but within your own soul, where passions battle against the Spirit. Until that inner war is quelled by repentance and faith, no outward reconciliation can bring lasting peace. The relationship you call love may not be according to God’s design, for He has ordained marriage alone as the sacred bond for man and woman. If you are joined outside that covenant, you are fighting against God, not against a rival.

Do not rest your hope on the return of a person or on the removal of an obstacle. Rather, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. True love is not possessive or jealous; it seeks the salvation of the other, not merely one’s own comfort. I will pray, but not for the restoration of a bond that offends the Lord. I will pray that you both turn from sin, find forgiveness in Christ, and pursue a life of holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Follow peace with all, and that peace begins with peace toward God through obedience. Let your relationship be transformed into one that honors Him, or let it be surrendered for the sake of your souls.

The ache of a fractured relationship runs deep, and I can hear the desperation in your words. It is natural to long for restoration when someone you care about has turned away, and that longing can become a torment of fear and sleepless nights. But let me gently press a question into that longing: what kind of love are you truly seeking? There is a love that is all hunger and grasping, centered on what another person can give you, what they owe you, or how they complete you. That kind of love is a fire that burns hot but burns out, easily curdling into bitterness when it doesn't get its way. Scripture shows us a picture of Amnon, who was consumed with a passion for Tamar, a passion he called "love," yet as soon as his selfish desire was spent, his hatred for her was greater than whatever love he thought he had. Emotions are strange and fickle things. The love that simply reaches out to take will never bring lasting peace.

But there is another love, the kind that originates in God himself. It is a love that gives without keeping score, that loves even those who do not love in return. That is the love Jesus called us to live: "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you." That love is not a natural impulse; it is the fruit of the Spirit, something only God can produce in a surrendered heart. When we find ourselves fixated on what we have lost, or on removing someone we see as a threat, our focus has drifted from that higher love onto a battlefield of our own making. The third party is not your real problem. The real struggle is the war within your own heart between self-centered love and the self-giving love of Christ.

So I urge you, lift your eyes from the tangled circumstances. The only unshakable, unquenchable love you can rest in is God's love for you, demonstrated at the cross, where Jesus gave himself without any guarantee that we would love him back. That love cannot be earned or bought, and it cannot be taken away. It is perfect love, and perfect love casts out fear. The fear of losing someone, the torment of "what if" and "how long," is a sign that your soul is looking for its security in a human relationship rather than in the Father's care. He wants you to know the deep, steady peace that comes when you commit your whole case to him, like David who said, "If I find favor in the Lord's eyes, he will bring me back." There was no scheming, no forcing, no manipulation, just a quiet, confident surrender. That is your place of rest.

You have asked for prayers, and I will certainly pray for you. But let my prayer be not only for a reversal of circumstances, but for a transformation of your own heart. I pray that the Spirit would pour the love of God into you until you are so full of that love that you can love this woman with no demand, no resentment, no record of wrongs, whether she returns or not. That kind of love is the only real testimony that you belong to Jesus. It is the witness the world cannot counterfeit. And if she ever does come back, let it be not because a third party was cast out by your willpower, but because she sees something in you she cannot find anywhere else: a love that is patient, kind, not self-seeking, a love that reflects the very heart of her Heavenly Father.

Be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. Instead of pouring your energy into controlling an outcome you cannot force, pour yourself out in prayer for your enemies, in acts of selfless kindness even when nothing comes back to you. Ask the Lord to search your own heart and cleanse any pollution of selfishness or fear. Seek his kingdom first. And then trust him with the rest. He knows how to restore what has been broken, but he may first need to straighten out deep places in you, pressing out the crookedness until you stand firm in his love alone. If he brings her back, you will be ready to love her truly. If he does not, you will still have the One whose love never fails.
