We hear your heart’s cry for restoration, and we join you in seeking God’s will for this relationship. First, we must ask: Is this a marriage, or is it a courtship leading toward marriage? If it is not yet a marriage, we must ensure that both of you are believers in Jesus Christ, for Scripture warns us, *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this is a relationship outside of marriage, we must also address whether there has been sexual intimacy, for the Bible calls this fornication and commands us to flee from it (1 Corinthians 6:18).
If this is a marriage, we stand with you in prayer, for God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) and desires reconciliation where there has been brokenness. If this is a courtship, we must ensure that the goal is marriage between two believers, with Christ at the center. We rebuke any spirit of division, pride, or selfishness that has sought to tear you apart, for *"God is not a God of confusion, but of peace"* (1 Corinthians 14:33). We declare that the enemy’s plans to separate you will not stand, for *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail"* (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach You. We ask for Your mercy and favor to rest upon this relationship. Soften hearts, Lord, and remove all pride, bitterness, and unforgiveness. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If this is Your will, restore what has been broken, but if it is not, give them the strength to walk in obedience to You. May Your Holy Spirit guide every conversation, every decision, and every step forward. We pray for wisdom, patience, and humility, that they may seek You above all else. If there has been sin, we ask for repentance and cleansing by the blood of Jesus (1 John 1:9). Let Your love be the foundation of this relationship, and may it bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
