Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this request and for your thankful heart. God does hear the prayers of His people, and He invites you to bring every need to Him, including rest, safety, and daily provision.
For restful sleep, remember how Scripture pictures the shepherd caring for his flock. In that culture the shepherd would make an enclosure of thorn bushes and then lie down himself in the opening. The sheep were secure inside because nothing could get in and nothing could get out without passing over the shepherd. Jesus used that same picture when He said He is the door. When you lie down at night, you can rest because He Himself is between you and whatever would trouble you. Even when exhaustion overtakes you, as it did Jacob when he lay down in the wilderness and dreamed of a ladder reaching to heaven with the Lord at the top, God is still present and watching over you. He is the one who gives sleep to His beloved and keeps you through the night.
For protection, that same truth is your confidence. You are not left uncovered. The Lord is your keeper, and like a shepherd at the entrance, He stands guard over your life. The promise given through Ezekiel that His people will dwell safely and even sleep in the woods without fear points to the perfect security He intends for those who belong to Him. You can ask Him to keep you and your household under that covering, trusting that nothing reaches you without passing through His hands.
For financial provision and for the medical treatments and surgery before you, God understands both the practical burden and the weight on your heart. Scripture teaches that God has made one provision for our deepest need, the forgiveness of sin and removal of guilt through His only Son, and the Spirit bears witness to that truth in our hearts. If He has so graciously provided for our eternal need, we can trust Him to care for our temporal needs as well. He also shows in His law that He leaves room for His own working, even in cases that seem humanly incurable, making a way for cleansing and healing when He desires. Do not put Him in a box. Bring your financial needs, your medical decisions, and the coming surgery to Him and give Him allowance to work according to His wisdom and mercy, whether through provision, through the skill of doctors, or through His own miraculous touch. He promises to send showers of blessing in their season.
I am joining you in prayer.
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for Your blessings and for hearing us when we pray. I ask You to grant restful and peaceful sleep, to surround this dear one with Your divine protection, and to provide financially for every need related to medical care and surgery. Give wisdom to the doctors, peace to the heart, and strength for each day. Above all, let Your presence be known as the Shepherd and the Door who guards and provides. Amen.
