Rest well

We join with you in this request for rest in the heat and for safety, justice, healing and open doors, and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is in His name we have access to the Father.
We know how difficult it can be to find true rest when the heat is oppressive and the mind is burdened with concern for loved ones who are about to travel. Scripture reminds us that our rest and our protection come from the Lord Himself. Psalm 4:8 says, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. And Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. He is our shade and our keeper even in the hottest season, as Psalm 121:5-6 promises, Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
We also lift up your close ones as they prepare to travel. We ask for the Lord's keeping power over every mile. Psalm 121:7-8 assures us, Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. And Psalm 91:1-2 declares, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.
You have asked for justice, blessings, favor, healing, protection and mighty miracles and open doors. We agree with you that God is just and He loves justice, and that He is able to make a way where there seems to be no way. Revelation 3:8 reminds us that He sets before us an open door, which no one is able to shut, when we walk faithfully with Him.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We ask You to grant peaceful and refreshing sleep and true rest despite the heat. Cool and comfort this one, provide relief, and let Your peace guard heart and mind through the night. We ask for Your hand of protection over close loved ones as they travel soon, keep them from all harm and accident, guide their steps and bring them safely to their destination and back again. Lord Jesus, bring Your justice where there has been wrong, pour out Your blessings, favor, healing and protection, and work a mighty miracle. Open the doors that no man can shut and close the doors that should not be opened, according to Your perfect will. Let Your goodness and mercy be evident in every area of need. We trust You as our refuge and shade, and we rest in Your faithful love. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We are praying with you for real rest in this heat and for peace over your loved ones as they get ready to travel.
It makes sense that hot nights make good sleep hard to come by, and that you would carry both your own need for rest and concern for those close to you at the same time. We hear how much you are asking God for, justice and favor, healing and protection, and for doors to open where you need a mighty answer. We are bringing all of that to Jesus with you.
One small thing that sometimes helps when sleep feels broken up by heat and worry is to keep a simple note for a few nights, what time you settled in, what was on your mind, and how you felt in the morning, and to share it with a trusted pastor or counselor, and with your doctor if rest continues to be difficult. Alongside prayer, that kind of record can help someone who knows you give better care.
We are also praying you and your loved ones can confirm travel plans together beforehand and cover each step in prayer, so you all have peace as they go.
Father, we lift this dear one to You in Jesus' name. Grant refreshing sleep even in the heat, calm their heart and body as they rest, and keep their loved ones safe on every mile of their travels. We ask for Your healing, Your protection, Your favor and justice in the situations weighing on them, and that You would open the right doors in Your perfect way. Give them Your peace tonight and in the days ahead. Amen.

Beloved of All
Your longing for rest in this heat and your care for those who must soon travel have been brought before the Lord, and it is good to cast such cares upon Him who neither slumbers nor sleeps.
There is a sleep which the Lord giveth to His beloved. It is not the sleep of carnal security, like Saul lying in fleshly ease, but the sleep of one who can say, I will lay me down and sleep, for thou Lord makest me to dwell in safety. When the heat lies heavy upon the body and the night brings little refreshing, remember that He giveth His beloved sleep, the sleep of contentment and of security. May the Lord in His mercy grant you such quiet rest, that your body may be recruited and your spirit refreshed, for even natural sleep is a preparation for fresh service when we awake.
For those who travel, we ask the same keeping. The oversight of the Shepherd secures the safety of all the flock, and they are all numbered and each one in particular is known to Him. May He set His hand about your loved ones by day and by night, and bring them in peace to their desired haven.
You have asked for justice, blessing, favor, healing and protection, and for open doors by a mighty miracle. The Scriptures tell us that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves are full of healing virtue to change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. So we look to Christ alone for healing of body and soul, for pardon and healing are joined together, and when the Sun of Righteousness rises upon His people with healing in His wings, forgiveness and restoration come as one gift from His hand.
For justice and favor and open doors, we leave these in the hands of Him who does all things well and in His own time. He is a God of perfect justice and abundant mercy, and where He opens a door no man can shut.
Let us pray together.
O Lord our God, Thou who givest sleep to Thy beloved, grant to this Thy servant refreshing rest even in the heat, and quietness of spirit in Thy keeping. Spread Thy wing over those who journey, and keep them in safety under Thy watchful eye. Thou great Physician, lay Thy healing hand upon every infirmity, and let pardon and healing flow from Christ our Head as from a great conduit of grace. In Thy righteousness bring forth justice, and in Thy goodness bestow favor and protection. Where doors are shut, do Thou in Thy mighty power open them according to Thy perfect will, that Thy name may have the glory. Keep us all sleeping and waking in Jesus, until that blessed sleep in Jesus which shall end in joyful waking at His coming. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we ask it. Amen.
