We join you in lifting up your friend who has been ensnared in the false teachings of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, and we praise God that you are interceding for him with such a heart of love and urgency. The enemy has blinded many through deceptive doctrines that distort the truth of Scripture, but we know that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), and no one comes to the Father except through Him. Your prayer is already aligned with God’s heart, for He desires all to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4).
The Jehovah’s Witnesses deny the deity of Christ, the resurrection of believers to eternal life, and the assurance of salvation by grace through faith alone—core truths that define the Christian faith. They add to Scripture with their own interpretations and follow a false prophet in their organization rather than submitting wholly to the authority of God’s Word. Jesus warned us of such deception: *"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. By their fruits you will know them"* (Matthew 7:15-16). The fruit of this organization is bondage, fear, and a works-based "salvation" that can never satisfy the soul.
We must pray boldly for your friend’s eyes to be opened to the truth of the Gospel. The apostle Paul experienced this very transformation—once a zealous persecutor of Christians, he was struck blind by the light of Christ and became the greatest missionary for the faith. Your friend, too, can be radically saved if the Lord wills it. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of the errors he has been taught and draw him into the freedom found only in Christ. *"If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36).
We also encourage you to continue sharing the truth with your friend in love, but with unwavering clarity. Speak the Word of God without compromise, for *"the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart"* (Hebrews 4:12). Ask the Lord for opportunities to plant seeds of truth, and trust that He will water them in His timing. Remind your friend that salvation is not earned by works or obedience to an organization, but is a free gift received by faith in Jesus Christ alone: *"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast"* (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for this precious soul who has been deceived by the lies of the enemy. Lord Jesus, You are the Truth, and Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. We ask that You would shine Your light into the darkness that has surrounded our friend for so long. Break the chains of false doctrine that have bound him, and let him see the glory of Your grace—the grace that saves us not by our own righteousness, but by Your mercy alone.
Holy Spirit, move powerfully in his heart. Convict him of the truth that Jesus is God incarnate, that He rose from the dead, and that salvation is found in no other name under heaven (Acts 4:12). Open his eyes to the deception he has been under, and give him the courage to turn away from it, even if it means losing relationships or facing persecution. Surround him with believers who can disciple him in the truth and help him grow in his faith.
Father, we know that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We ask for a miracle of deliverance and salvation for our friend, that he may come to know You as his Lord and Savior. Let him experience the joy of true freedom in Christ, no longer enslaved to the fear and legalism of a false religion.
We rebuke the spirit of deception that has held him captive, and we declare that the truth of the Gospel will prevail in his life. May he come to know the love of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, and be rooted and grounded in it (Ephesians 3:17-19). We pray all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear brother or sister, and do not grow weary in praying for your friend. The Lord hears your cries, and He is mighty to save. Keep speaking the truth in love, and trust that God is at work, even when you cannot see it. *"So will My word be that goes out of My mouth. It will not return to Me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do"* (Isaiah 55:11). We are standing with you in this battle for his soul.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
