We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who is enduring severe gastric problems and heartburn. We know that physical affliction can weigh heavily on both body and spirit, and we stand with you in faith, believing in the healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bible reminds us in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." Our God is not only a forgiver of sins but also a healer of diseases. We trust in His mercy and power to restore your health. Jeremiah 30:17 says, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." Let this promise be a comfort to you as we pray.
We also recognize that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." It is important to care for our bodies with wisdom, seeking medical advice and making choices that honor God. We encourage you to seek godly counsel and treatment while trusting in the Lord’s provision.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother who is suffering from gastric problems and heartburn. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch to be upon him. Restore his health, ease his pain, and strengthen his body according to Your will. We trust in Your promise to heal and restore, and we ask that You would guide him to the right care and treatment.
Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for him as he seeks to honor You with his body. Help him to make choices that align with Your Word and to trust in Your provision. Surround him with Your peace and comfort as he waits on You. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed, and we thank You for Your faithfulness.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to trust in His timing. Remember that even in suffering, God is working for your good (Romans 8:28). Lean on Him and on the support of fellow believers as you walk through this trial. May the Lord bless you with His peace and healing.

Brother, we are so sorry you’re in this discomfort. Stomach pain and burning can wear you down fast, and we want you to know we hear how draining this is, and we’re standing with you in it.
Because you mentioned it’s severe, we’d gently encourage you to have a doctor check things out, if you haven’t already. Sometimes our bodies give clear signals that need medical attention, and getting wise help is never a lack of faith, it’s part of how God cares for us. We’re praying alongside you, not instead of that step.
In the middle of pain that won’t let up, it’s easy to feel alone. But you are not forgotten. The Lord who sees you knows the ache you carry right now, and He invites you to rest your heavy body and worried heart in His hands. We’re asking Him to bring relief, to guide any treatment you receive, and to settle your spirit with His steady peace.
Father, we lift up our brother to You now. You know exactly where this gastric trouble and burning are hitting him, and You know how tired he is. Please bring tangible relief, ease the pain, settle his stomach, and restore strength. Give skill and insight to any doctor he sees. In the waiting, give him patience and a deep sense that You are with him, holding him up. We ask this in Jesus’ name.

Your note is before me, and it is no small thing to be afflicted with a burning pain that rends the rest from both body and mind. Yet I would have you consider that the very iron of your suffering may be the nail upon which you hang your hope upon the Lord Jesus. He is not unacquainted with griefs; He bore our infirmities. The Physician of souls is also the Healer of bodies, and in the days of His earthly ministry, He rebuked fevers and stilled the raging of the inward man. I pray that as the sun sets, you may find the cooling shadow of His wings.
But mark you, the health of the body is a fleeting thing. A more enduring healing is that which He gives to the spirit. If you have never yet been healed of the greater plague of sin, O that this burning in your breast might be the fire that drives you to the fountain opened for sin and for uncleanness. There is pardon at the cross, and with it comes a peace that can sweeten every bitter cup. Yet if you are already His, then trouble not yourself overmuch; for the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Even the least promise, the simplest touch of His grace, can bring relief. Rest in His wise love, and He will either remove the thorn or give you strength to bear it.
We join our prayers with yours, that the Lord would put forth His hand and touch you, and that you may soon again eat your bread with gladness and singleness of heart, praising the name of the Lord who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases. Till then, cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.

Why do you ask for prayer as though you were dull of hearing? The fever of your stomach and the burning of your heart are not hidden from the Lord, who made the body and knows its every affliction. Yet I must speak plainly, because we are always in need of prayer, not only when we feel our weakness, but most especially when we think we have no need. Do not exalt yourself in your sickness, saying, "I have prayed, I have asked the saints to pray," and then lie back as one who sleeps.
If we wake, we shall not need the help of others so desperately, but if we sleep, the prayers of a thousand righteous men will profit us nothing. The body cries out, and rightly you seek healing, but the soul also must be roused. For what does it profit a man if his stomach is calmed, yet his heart still burns with the acid of envy, strife, or dullness toward the word of God? I have seen many who receive ten remedies and show no fruit, yet later, by one blow of grace, they are made entirely whole.
So I say to you, do not judge your health merely by appearance, as though a partial easing of pain were the whole cure. Christ, when He touched the fevered woman, did not merely quench the heat but gave her back perfect health all at once, a thing no physician's art could do. Seek Him, then, with such importunity that He is constrained to enter your house. Beseech Him, saying, "If you have judged me faithful, abide with me," and do not cease to apply the medicine of repentance and thanksgiving.
There is health here, and temperance. Turn from what feeds the burning, both in diet and in disposition, and run to the place where prayer is made, for we enter heaven when we enter there, not in place but in disposition. May the Lord, who opened Lydia's heart, open yours to attend to these things, and may He grant you the full health that belongs to those who love Him, now and forever, world without end. Amen.
