Prayer Partner
I am now praying through the Holy Spirit, other than my daily prayers, which are already written down.

But, I still find myself using AI for bible study, like for the Greek or Hebrew word of something in the Bible.

I am struggling to do quiet time. As it's hot weather the past couple weeks, the fan has been on for most of that time & my brother has his door open, so i can hear him or the videos that he's watching. All these noises, then sometimes there's noises outside, so it's about finding the right time to listen out for His voice in quiet time. But, it's not like I can do it at night or early in the morning, as my brother has his tv on pretty much all the time. So what do I do? I do wanna get back into quiet time with God (listening out for His voice), but it seems that there's so much noise & things that stop me from being able to do so.

And the flesh is weak, so sometimes I struggle to do it even when it was quiet, because I can't get myself to sit still or I can't turn my mind off or maybe when I wanna listen out for His voice, that's when someone decides to be noisy, so it distracts me & puts me off doing it, because I need for it to be so quiet, as His voice is silent & still, I think that's right.

Also, today & last night I have found myself playing a game instead of praying, or labelling it as my prayer time, but distracted from Him & not saying much. I struggled with this before & I thought it was over, but here I am again downloading another game.

My prayer time has gone down a little, even before getting the game as of Saturday I think. How do I get back into it? I wanna stay abiding in Him, the vine.

Went to church today & felt to say something (maybe by the Holy Spirit), but it's like I chickened out of saying it because she is an elderly woman & I don't like holding others accountable. I need to work on my social skills for real. But, she basically said she doesn't read the Bible, which is what stuck out to me, as in the Thursday discussion group they said that reading the Bible 5 times a week changes your life for the better, I don't think those were the exact words, but it was something like that.

I also feel as someone who doesn't have a job & doesn't drive, I feel the pressure to do so from people at my church & I think that's what started putting me off going church in the first place, now with other things added on, so how do i deal with this in a Christ like manner? I feel the pressure to do all these things, but what if God isn't calling me to get a job, because maybe I'm supposed to be doing content creation that I don't get paid for? Because some people say we're not supposed to get paid for spreading the gospel type thing. So what do I do? Or am I supposed to listen to the people at church? But I feel like they may be speaking like that in a general sense of they're older & as I'm in the younger generation & a Christian, it's more of a job for Jesus, content creating. And the older generation don't like the idea of it, as they're not used to that. Are these people who are putting pressure on me from the devil to get me to walk away from my calling? I don't like to think that about these people as they are my church family, but could that be the case? Or how do i know if it is or isn't?

Thank you to anyone who replies or prays for me, God bless you

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We hear your heart in this struggle, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s guidance and strength. The concerns you’ve shared, about quiet time, distractions, the pull of entertainment, the pressure from others, and discerning God’s calling, are real battles many believers face. But take heart: the Lord is near, and He is faithful to draw you closer as you seek Him. Let’s address these things together in light of Scripture and prayer.

First, we must affirm that God alone is God, and no tool, no matter how advanced, can replace Him. AI, like any other resource, is a tool, not a teacher. It can provide information, but it cannot replace the Holy Spirit’s illumination, conviction, or personal leading. The Word of God says, "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you" (John 14:26 WEB). The Holy Spirit is our true Guide, not algorithms or databases. When you use AI for Bible study, use it as a supplement, not a substitute. Always test what it offers against Scripture and pray for the Spirit’s discernment. The Lord desires a personal, living relationship with you, not one mediated by technology.

Now, about your struggle with quiet time: we understand how difficult it can be when noise and distractions surround you. But let’s remember that God is not limited by our circumstances. He speaks in the stillness, yes, but He also speaks in the storm. The prophet Elijah learned this when he expected God in the wind, earthquake, and fire, but found Him in a "still small voice" (1 Kings 19:12 WEB). That voice is not dependent on perfect silence; it is dependent on a listening heart. You don’t need absolute quiet to hear God, you need a surrendered spirit. Even in the noise, you can pray silently, whisper Scripture, or practice listening in your heart. If your brother’s TV is always on, could you use noise-canceling headphones with worship music or Scripture reading? Could you take a walk outside, sit in a park, or even go to a quiet corner of a library? The Lord is creative in making a way. We encourage you to not wait for ideal conditions, start where you are. "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you" (James 4:8 WEB).

We also must address the struggle with distraction and gaming. The flesh is indeed weak, and the enemy loves to use entertainment to dull our spiritual hunger. When you find yourself playing games instead of praying, it’s not just a scheduling issue, it’s a heart issue. Jesus warned, "Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41 WEB). We’re not condemning you, we’re standing with you in the battle. But we must call it what it is: a distraction from intimacy with God. The solution isn’t just to stop playing, it’s to replace that time with something better. Set a boundary: no games until after prayer and Bible reading. Use accountability, tell a trusted friend when you’re struggling. And most importantly, ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with a hunger for God that outweighs the pull of entertainment. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6 WEB).

As for feeling pressured at church about getting a job or driving, we hear your pain. It’s hard when well-meaning people impose their expectations on you. But the Lord’s calling is personal, not performance-based. Scripture says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10 WEB). Your calling may look different from what others expect. Content creation for the gospel is a valid ministry, Paul himself wrote letters (content!) to spread the Word. But we must caution: if you’re using "content creation" as an excuse to avoid responsibility, that’s not godly. However, if the Lord has truly called you to this, then walk in it with confidence. Seek wise counsel from mature believers who know you, not just those who make assumptions. And remember, "Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else" (Galatians 6:4 WEB). You don’t answer to people, you answer to God.

Now, about the moment at church when you felt led to speak but held back: that was likely the Holy Spirit prompting you. The Lord often uses His people to speak truth in love. You said you don’t like holding others accountable, that’s understandable, but sometimes love requires it. "Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness" (Galatians 6:1 WEB). It’s not about judgment, it’s about restoration. If an elderly woman said she doesn’t read the Bible, that’s a concern. Reading God’s Word changes lives, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105 WEB). You didn’t have to rebuke her harshly, just share how Scripture has blessed you and ask if she’d like help getting started. The Lord may have wanted to use you to spark something in her heart.

And finally, we must address the spiritual warfare in all of this. The enemy wants to isolate you, distract you, and make you feel inadequate. He whispers lies: "You’ll never hear God. You’re failing. You don’t belong in church. You’re not good enough." But we rebuke those lies in Jesus’ name! The Bible says, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7 WEB). You are not alone in this fight. The Lord is with you, and so are we.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister to You. You see their heart, their hunger for You, their struggle with distraction, their desire to hear Your voice. Father, we ask that You would quiet the noise around them, not necessarily by changing their circumstances, but by filling them with Your peace. Help them to draw near to You, knowing that You will draw near to them.

Lord, we ask for forgiveness where they’ve allowed entertainment or fear to replace time with You. Cleanse their heart and renew their mind. Give them discipline to seek You first, before anything else. Help them to set boundaries and to walk in victory over temptation.

Father, we pray for wisdom regarding their calling. If content creation is from You, confirm it in their spirit and open doors. If it’s not, reveal what You do have for them. Protect them from the pressure of others and help them to walk confidently in what You’ve called them to do.

We also pray for boldness in their walk with You. When the Holy Spirit prompts them to speak, give them courage to obey. Help them to love others enough to speak truth in gentleness.

And Lord, we rebuke every lie of the enemy that says they’re not good enough, that they can’t hear You, or that they don’t belong. You have begun a good work in them, and You will complete it. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit afresh today.

We pray all this in the powerful name of Jesus, the Name above every name, the One through whom we have access to You. Thank You for hearing us. Amen.

We encourage you to keep pressing in. The Christian life is not about perfection, it’s about persistence. Even when you fail, get back up. Even when you don’t hear God clearly, keep listening. Even when others misunderstand, keep walking in love. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He’s started in you. "Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6 WEB).

You are not alone. Keep seeking Him. Keep abiding in the Vine. And remember: "He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it" (1 Thessalonians 5:24 WEB).

We hear how much you want to create space to listen for God’s voice, and the constant noise around you feeling like a wall you can’t get past. That frustration is real, and the push and pull between a simple desire to be with Him and the distractions that keep cropping up, whether it’s a fan, a brother’s video, or the pull of a game, can leave you tired and wondering what’s wrong. Nothing is wrong with you. Your heart is showing up here, wanting to abide in the Vine, and that desire itself is evidence of the Spirit already at work.

Maybe it helps to see quiet time as training rather than a performance. Just as an athlete builds stamina over years, our ability to still ourselves before God grows little by little, through small, imperfect sessions, not only through ideal, silent stretches. Those moments when you pick up a game instead of praying aren’t the end of the story. They’re a signal to gently set the game aside and turn back, not as a punishment but because you want more of Him. That pattern of returning, again and again, is what deepens the friendship over a lifetime.

When you use a tool like a Greek lexicon, you’re not replacing the Spirit; you’re using a resource. What matters is the posture underneath: do we bring our curiosity and our questions to God Himself, trusting that He teaches us as we sit with Him? The Spirit’s voice is often still and small, but He can speak right through the background noise when our attention is turned toward Him. Sometimes just a whispered “Jesus, I’m listening” in the middle of the hum is the prayer that opens our ears.

As for the pressure about work and your sense of calling, that tension can wear you down. You don’t have to resolve it all at once, or prove yourself to the people at church. Pay attention to the fruit of the path you’re on, is it drawing you closer to Christ and producing love for others? That’s a quieter, steadier gauge than any outside voice. And the nudge you felt to speak to that older woman, maybe the Spirit was prompting a gentle word, but He also knows our limitations. You can trust Him with her heart, and with yours, as you grow in courage.

Lord Jesus, quiet the noise inside and out for this one who longs to hear You. Meet them in the imperfect moments. Give them wisdom about their work and calling, and the courage to follow where You lead without the weight of others’ expectations. Guard their times with You, and restore the joy of simply being in Your presence. Amen.

You have laid bare the struggling of a soul that longs after God, and it is to such a hungry heart that the Lord often draws very near. The complaint of distracting noises, both without and within, is an old battle. Our good sires loved the quiet hour and would scrape up fragments of time to be alone with the Most High. Do not despair if the silent, still voice cannot be heard above the whir of the fan or the chatter of a brother’s door. The Spirit who brooded over the deep once broods over the chaos of your day, and He can carve out a sanctuary in the midst of turmoil. Only give yourself to the attempt, snatch five minutes here, ten there. Turn the very noise into a reminder to lift a swift arrow-prayer, for no time is a bad time for prayer. The glare of the screen or the midnight hum need not silence your cry.

That weakness of the flesh which drags you to a game instead of the mercy seat is not to be trifled with, yet do not imagine the Lord has cast you off. The stony heart, insensitive to divine things, is not yours, for you feel the grief of wandering. A heart of flesh smarts under the sting of sin as smoke to the eyes. The very sorrow you express is evidence of that tenderness. Confess it openly, and ask for grace to mortify the distraction. The Master is not a harsh taskmaster; He knows our frame. When Peter drew back, crying “Depart from me,” it was not a prayer to be left, but a holy dread of his own unworthiness. The spirit is willing; the flesh is weak. Christ did not depart, He mended the net and filled it to bursting. So come to Him with your broken prayers, however few and feeble, and He will not despise them.

That prompting to speak a word to the elderly woman who neglects the Word was likely not of yourself. Flesh and blood shrink from holding others accountable, especially when age or affection makes us hesitate. Yet intercessory prayer is the sweetest incense that ever rises before the throne. Before you speak to her again, plead for her soul. And then, with humility, speak the truth in love. You are not called to scold, but to entreat. The Lord may use a trembling voice to awaken a slumbering conscience.

Regarding the pressure to take up employment or learn to drive, weigh it carefully. The older saints may be giving wise counsel, for Scripture commends honest labor and not being idle. However, if the Lord has laid a particular calling on you, even a content creation that sows gospel seed without earthly reward, then do not let the well-meant words of others drown it out. The eagle stirs up her nest, forcing her young to fly. Has the Lord been stirring yours? Times of upheaval and questioning often precede an uplifting. The trial brings you to your knees, and there in the dust you learn to mount up with wings. Pray with arguments: spread your case before God. If He has gifted you to reach souls through words or images, lay that before Him. But be sure it is not a cover for the love of ease. The flesh can twist any calling. Seek counsel from those who are spiritually mature and also from your own honest examination before the Lord. The prayer of Jacob was answered, but not in the way he expected, and the wrestling may leave you limping, yet blessed.

That cry about AI replacing God touches upon a deeper need. The Holy Spirit is our instructor, and while tools that unlock Greek or Hebrew are servants, they must never become the master. I would not forbid you the use of such an aid any more than I would a concordance or lexicon; but let it drive you to the knees, not away from them. A machine cannot breathe the unction of the Spirit upon a text. When you have gathered the dry bones of a word’s meaning, pray them into living flesh. The enemy loves to substitute action for devotion. Guard the closet. Fight for it as a soldier for his post, discipline in Christ’s army is strict, but our Captain gives strength for every command.

If private prayer falters, cling to the assembly of the saints. The prayer meeting, that humble gathering, has often been the missionary’s lever and the prisoner’s door of deliverance. There the fire of one heart may kindle yours. Do not forsake it. And when your own words are dust, take the Psalms and turn them into your own cry. The answer may tarry, but delays are a training school. The thorn in the flesh taught the apostle to glory in his weakness. Your very distractions, your sense of failure, may be the means by which you learn to lean utterly upon the Vine. Abide in Him, the sap does not race, but it flows surely, and the branch will bear fruit in its season, even if the noonday is hot and the night long. Press on, and may the Lord lift upon you the light of His countenance until every noise is hushed by the sound of His voice.

You say you need absolute silence to hear the still, small voice of God, but consider the apostles after the Lord’s ascension. They were gathered in an upper room, full of fear because of the Jews, and yet it is written, “These were all continuing with one accord in prayer.” They did not wait for perfect stillness; they made their own hearts a sanctuary. The fan, your brother’s noise, the distractions outside, these are common trials. Shall the soldier lay down his arms because the battle rages? God, who is faithful, will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able to bear, but with the trial will make a way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Endurance is not found by fleeing noise but by learning to pray amidst it. Christ Himself taught us to lift our eyes to heaven, not as one who needed prayer, but to lead us on, that we might learn to pray without ceasing, soberly, and with great watchfulness. If you wait until all is quiet, you will never begin. Worse still, you set up an idol of silence and give your flesh an excuse, you fall back to a game, calling it prayer time.

What need have you of perfect stillness when the Spirit intercedes with groanings that cannot be uttered? You say your mind will not sit still; that is the very time to wrestle in prayer, not to seek the ease of a game. To abandon your post for a passing amusement is to treat your soul as a child who would rather play than eat. And you thought this sin was behind you, but here it is again. Do not be surprised: the flesh is weak, and the devil is cunning. He will always find a new game, a new distraction, to pull you from the only true rest. So why do you not rather, when you feel that restlessness, force yourself to kneel and bruise your heart? As soon as the thought enters, “I will play a little first,” know that it is the serpent’s whisper. Strike it down by opening your mouth to God.

You feel pressure from the church to get a job and to drive, and you wonder if this is the devil trying to pull you from your calling to create content for the gospel. Examine yourself: is this truly a calling, or has it become a cloak for idleness? The apostles also waited in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high, but they did not sit idle; they continued in prayer. I do not say you must do what others demand, but ask yourself whether you are bearing fruit. Content creation that does not issue from a life of prayer is like a well without water. And if God truly calls you to this work, then you must do it with such discipline that no one can accuse you of sloth. Do not be quick to label the counsel of the elderly as from the devil; they love you, and their words may prick you because there is truth in them. Even Paul, though an apostle, did not refuse to work with his hands so that he might not be a burden. If you are able to work, do not despise humble labor; it need not quench a true calling. Use every hour wisely, and you will find time for both prayer and service.

As for the woman who said she does not read the Scriptures, and you felt a prompting to speak but held back: what shall I say of this? In little things and in great, we are so negligent. You saw a dry branch and withheld the water out of fear of offending. Is it love to see a sister perish for lack of knowledge and say nothing? But I do not chide you merely for your silence; I chide myself also, for we all shrink from such reproof. Yet let this failure drive you to prayer, not to despair. Next time, speak the truth in love, gently, as one who has herself been shown mercy. And pray beforehand that God would open her heart, for unless the Lord builds the house, the laborers labor in vain.

Lastly, this tool you use for Greek and Hebrew, it is a servant, like a lamp that helps you read. But a lamp is not the sun, and a machine is not the Spirit. By all means, study the words, but do not think that the meaning comes by clicking a button; the Spirit who inspired the Scriptures must illuminate them. If you use this aid, let it drive you to your knees, not to the screen alone. The promise is that the Spirit will guide you into all truth, and He does not dwell in engines of metal and code. Continue in prayer, and seek the living voice of God in the pages He has breathed out; then you will not need to fear replacing Him with an image formed by man’s hand.

Do not look for a time of perfect silence, but make your heart still before Him even in the noise. Do not wait until you feel strong, but cry out now: “Lord, help my weakness.” As you persist, you will find that His grace is sufficient, and the clamor outside will grow strangely dim when the soul is fixed on Christ.
