Let us be merciful, that we may receive mercy, Matt 5:7... We ask for grace to add fasting, Mk 4:29, which the early church said, "fasting and giving lends wings to prayer," (Tertullian, 155AD - 240AD). Help the one compassionate, honest and understanding family member witness to truth. Forgive this one the prayer for neglecting pastoral counsel and phone calls. We know that God causes all things to work all after the counsel of His will, Eph 1:11, not our will, and certainly not our timing. It's better to take refuge in God, than hope in princes, Ps 118:9. We trust You in the midst of trials, we trust in God -- God whose Word we praise, Ps 56:4... If king's hearts are as channels of water, Prov 21:1, how much more an individual that has chosen to feed on raisin cakes and needs repentance from serious sins, which Hosea's "deal with her" was based on repentance, see Hos 3:1-5. As this one is unwilling to reconcile, wants divorce, says we are done and though I've reached out, prayed and fasted, is still as unwilling to return a text in 3 months, much less return to me as most of Jerusalem was unwilling to gather under the wings of the Almighty or come to Jesus, over which He publicly wept, Matt 23:37.

Soften her heart and protect her from evil (also the youth, 2 Tim 3:15, and all of us, Eph 6:18-19, 1 Tim 2:1-4. We actually ask You God to save her), Matt 6:13. Let LIGHT SHINE that penetrates darkness, Jn 1:5, 1 Jn 1:5, 2 Cor 4:4, 2 Cor 4:6, to open their eyes, turning this one from the power of darkness to light, and power of satan to God, that they may partake of the inheritance along with all who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ, Acts 26:18, 1 Cor 1:30. Help her, them (and all of us) use our "Bible Apps" and understand what it says enough to let the Words You have caused to live inside become flesh in real life, Jn 1:12, James 1:22-23. Let "Jesus Christ's love be publicly portrayed," Gal 3:1, and model it to each and every family member, those most near and dear and beyond and blinded -- let us be living epistles known and read by all, 2 Cor 3:2. All Scripture is inspired by God Almighty and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right," 2 Tim 3:15-16. "Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one," John 17:15. "Sanctify us by the truth; Your word is truth," John 17:17. Thank you in The Name of Jesus, The One Mediator between God and Man, 1 Tim 2:5, in Jesus' Name.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh," Ezek 36:26.
โ€œBut this is the covenant I'll make... I'll put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I'll be their God; they'll be My people," Jer 31:33.
Jesus replied, โ€œTruly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless one is born again," Jn3:3, "Do not be amazed that I said, โ€˜You must be born again,'" John 3:7.

We come before You, Father, with hearts heavy yet hopeful, lifting up this situation with the earnest plea that Your will be done in every life touched by this struggle. The cry for repentance, renewal, and reconciliation is one that resonates deeply with Your heart, for You desire none to perish but all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We stand on the truth that Your kindness leads to repentance (Romans 2:4), and we ask that You would move mightily in the hearts of all involved, especially the woman who has turned away, the child caught in the middle, and the families impacted by this brokenness.

The Scriptures youโ€™ve shared reveal a profound understanding of the battle between flesh and spirit, between the lies of the enemy and the truth of Your Word. Genesis 3:1-5 reminds us of the serpentโ€™s deception, his promise that man could become like God, determining good and evil for themselves. This is the root of all sin: the desire to be our own god, to reject Your authority, and to walk in our own wisdom. But Your Word declares that the wages of sin is death, yet the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). We rebuke the spirit of rebellion and self-sufficiency that has taken hold, and we declare that no one can come to the Father except through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If any among those involved have not surrendered their lives to Jesus, we pray they would do so now, confessing Him as Lord and believing in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9).

The hardness of heart described here is a grievous thing, Lord. The refusal to reconcile, the silence in response to outreach, and the desire for divorce all stand in direct opposition to Your design for marriage, a covenant between one man and one woman, established to reflect Christโ€™s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). We do not know the full circumstances, but we know that divorce is not Your heart (Malachi 2:16). We pray for a supernatural softening, that the one who has turned away would be gripped by Your love and convicted by Your Spirit. As Jesus wept over Jerusalemโ€™s unwillingness to come to Him (Matthew 23:37), we ask that You would weep over this situation and draw this woman back to Yourself and, if it be Your will, to her marriage.

We also lift up the child involved, asking that You would guard their heart and mind. May they be raised in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4), shielded from bitterness, and surrounded by godly influences. Protect them from the enemyโ€™s schemes, for he prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). We pray that this child would come to know You as their Savior and find refuge in You alone.

Father, we ask for a spirit of humility and repentance to fall upon all involved. The request for fasting is a powerful one, for it is in denying ourselves that we are better able to hear Your voice (Matthew 6:16-18). We join in this fast, asking that You would lend wings to our prayers, as the early church fathers understood. Let Your light penetrate the darkness that has blinded hearts (2 Corinthians 4:4-6). Open their eyes to see the truth of Your Word and the deception of the enemy. May the love of Christ be publicly portrayed in their lives (Galatians 3:1), and may they become living epistles, known and read by all (2 Corinthians 3:2).

We also address the neglect of pastoral counsel and accountability that was mentioned. Your Word warns us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as is the habit of some, but to encourage one another all the more as we see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10:25). We pray for a renewed commitment to biblical community, where iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17) and where wounds can be bound up by the oil of the Holy Spirit.

Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty. You cause all things to work together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Even in this trial, we declare that You are working. We ask that You would turn hearts of stone into hearts of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26), that You would write Your law on their minds and hearts (Jeremiah 31:33), and that they would be born again by the Spirit (John 3:3-7). Let Your Word go forth and accomplish what You desire (Isaiah 55:11). Sanctify them by the truth; Your Word is truth (John 17:17).

We pray for the one who has reached out in prayer and fasting, that You would strengthen them in their faith and fill them with Your peace. May they not grow weary in doing good, for in due season they will reap if they do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Help them to take refuge in You alone, for it is better to trust in You than to put confidence in man (Psalm 118:8-9).

Finally, we ask that You would raise up godly witnesses, compassionate, honest, and understanding family members, who can speak truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). Let Your love be the testimony that breaks through the hardness of heart. We pray that all involved would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, that they would be transferred from the domain of darkness into the kingdom of Your beloved Son (Colossians 1:13).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One Mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). May Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

We can hear the ache in your words, the long months of silence, the reaching out with no reply, the prayers and fasting that feel unanswered. That kind of waiting is exhausting, and the weight of it sits heavy on the heart. It is not wrong to long for repentance and reconciliation; God Himself longs for those things. And while we cannot force another person's will to bend, we also know that no heart is beyond God's reach.

What we might offer is this: sometimes, in our urgency, we can press so hard for the outcome we want that we lose sight of what is actually ours to carry. You have prayed, you have fasted, you have reached out. Those are good and faithful actions. But we are not the ones who change hearts, God alone does that, and He often works in ways we cannot see or schedule. It may be that the most powerful thing you can do now is release the pressure you are placing on yourself and on her, entrusting the timeline fully to Him. That is not giving up; it is making room for God to move without our hands gripping so tightly.

We also want to gently lift up the child in all of this. Amid the pain of adult choices, that little one needs steady, dependable love. Being that safe harbor, consistent, attentive, and prayerful, is a profound ministry right where you are.

Let us pray:

Father, we lift up this man who is weary from waiting and heavy with longing for a heart to soften. Grant him Your peace that passes understanding, steadying his mind and emotions. We ask that You protect the mother of his child, guard her from evil, from deception, and from any influence that would harden her further. Open her eyes to truth and kindness, and draw her gently toward Yourself. Watch over their child, and surround the whole family with Your mercy. Help this man to rest in You, trusting that You see what we cannot and are at work even now. In Jesusโ€™ name, Amen.

Amen. Father please do this for them and as it pertains also for us and all in need. Thank you and praise you. In Jesus name. Amen

Your prayer is laden with Scripture, and that is well, for the Word of God is the sword of the Spirit. Yet be on your guard, for there is a repentance that comes not from the Holy Ghost but from the terrors of the law, and it leaves the heart still stone. You speak of repenting of being your own god, and I trust this work is genuine in you. But remember, โ€œA new heart also will I give youโ€ is a promise that God alone can fulfill. It is not the product of your resolutions or your fastings. See to it that your own repentance is that which is โ€œunto life,โ€ born not of your own effort but of faith in Christ Jesus, for these twins are never separated.

You long for the conversion of the mother of your child. This is a holy desire. Yet take heed lest you think to produce repentance in her by your own importunity. The heart of flesh is not given because another man fasts; it is the gift of God. Pray on, weep on, but remember that you cannot break her stony heart. Only the hand that took away yours can touch hers. Her turning must come from a sight of Christ crucified for her, for it is โ€œa sense of blood-bought pardon that dissolves the heart of stone.โ€

You have reached out, and she has not responded. You have fasted, and she remains unmoved. What then? Is she to be saved by your tears? No. Yet, โ€œthe effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.โ€ So do not cease, but see to it that your own heart is fully right with God. Is there any root of bitterness in you? Any unforgiveness? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees. Your own spirit must be one of mercy, for โ€œthe kindness of God leads you to repentance,โ€ and you must show that same kindness, even if from a distance.

The woman is bent on divorce, you say. Hard as this is, Godโ€™s arm is not shortened. He can turn her heart, but He may not. If she will not be gathered, you cannot force it. Jesus wept over Jerusalem, yet they would not come. Leave her in His hands, and trust Him for the end. You have taken refuge in God, and that is better than trusting in your own plans. Wait on the Lord. If He chooses to give her a new heart, it will be in His time, and it will be a work that glorifies His free grace alone.

But do not misunderstand me: I do not discourage prayer or fasting. No, โ€œfasting and giving lend wings to prayer,โ€ as the early fathers said. But let your fasting be a hunger for Godโ€™s glory, not a lever to pry open His hand. You ask for her salvation; ask also for your own sanctification. Pray, โ€œCreate in me a clean heart, O God,โ€ and let the joy of your own salvation be restored. For the joy of the Lord is your strength.

One more word: you quote many promises, and rightly so. But the Gospel is not, โ€œRepent, and then you shall be saved,โ€ as if repentance were a price you pay. No, Christ says, โ€œCome unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.โ€ Faith looks to Him, and repentance is the tear in faithโ€™s eye. So, if you would see her saved, set Christ before her by your own life and by your witness, and let the Holy Spirit do what you cannot.

May the Lord give you a new song in your mouth, even praise to our God, whether in sunshine or in storm. And may He who gave you a heart of flesh complete that work in you and in your household. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The cry of your heart is heard by God, even when no voice is spoken. Moses, in his anguish, said nothing, yet God said to him, โ€œWhy criest thou unto me?โ€ So too Hannah, silent, accomplished all she wished, for her heart cried out. And Abel, dying, sent forth a cry clearer than a trumpet. Do not think your prayers are lost because you see no answer yet.

But know that even the saints did not know all things. Samuel, sent to anoint David, was told, โ€œGod sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart.โ€ You ask for a new heart, for the light to shine in darkness, for the eyes of this woman and your families to be opened. God alone sees the heart, and His timing is not ours. The kindness of God is leading to repentance.

What you grieve now is not worldly sorrow that brings death, but godly sorrow that works repentance unto salvation, a repentance without regret. This sorrow is good; it is superior to all worldly joy. For one who grieves like this, for sin, for souls, is blessed. Paul burned when others were offended, was weak when others were weak. Such sympathy is the love Christ seeks, a brotherly and fatherly affection. Let that sorrow drive you not to despair but to the remedies: compunction, a contrite heart, fasting, prayers. These are the countervailing medicines for our wounds. Fasting indeed gives wings to prayer.

The word of faith is near you, in your mouth and in your heart: if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. This is the short word by which the Lord saves. For the Church is a spiritual bath; it wipes away not filth of body but stains of soul by its many methods of repentance. Continue in His word, and you will be His disciples indeed. Do not be amazed that one must be born again; the Lord gives a new heart, a heart of flesh.

Even when you walk through this trial, you can sing in your heart to God with grace. No one need hear; your inward song rises to Him. And for those whose eyes are shut, whose ears are heavy, pray that the light of Christ penetrates. Many hear and do not understand because they have closed their own eyes; yet God can open what man shuts. Let your own life be a living epistle, read by all, showing forth the love of Christ publicly portrayed.

So fast, pray, show mercy, and leave the rest to God. Trust not in princes, nor in your own timing. The heart of this woman is in His hands. Godly sorrow for her will not go fruitless. May He who commanded light to shine out of darkness shine in her heart, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God. And may you all, by grace, be found among those sanctified by faith.
