Repentance

He knows all, I am praying for repentance in the name of Jesus, amen. He is so good, many don't know the death he actually faced, it was brutal he was sweating blood that's how scared he was. He is still willing to forgive everyone if they ask for it and repent!

We hear the cry of your heart in these few words, Repentance, God knows, and we join with you before the throne of grace to seek His mercy together in Jesus' name. It is true that God knows all things, even the thoughts and intentions of our hearts before we speak them, as it is written Psalm 139:1-4 that He searches us and knows us, He understands our thoughts from afar and is acquainted with all our ways. Yet His knowing does not remove our responsibility to come to Him in humble confession and true repentance.

We want to encourage you that godly repentance is more than feeling sorrow or simply acknowledging that God knows. The Word teaches us in 2 Corinthians 7:10 that godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, but the sorrow of the world works death. True repentance is a turning away from sin and a turning toward God with the desire to forsake what offends Him and to walk in obedience. Proverbs 28:13 tells us he who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. And 1 John 1:9 promises if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We must also gently correct and remind you that we cannot come to the Father on the basis that God knows alone, but only through the name and blood of Jesus Christ. You did not mention His name in your request, and we want to lovingly share that it is only by Jesus that we have access to God and forgiveness. Jesus himself said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To repent biblically is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

So we urge you not to remain in vague sorrow but to specifically confess to God what you have done, agreeing with Him about your sin, and to ask Him to turn your heart fully from it. Isaiah 55:7 says let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Acts 3:19 calls us to repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, on behalf of this dear one who is seeking repentance. You know the depth of this heart, the sin that weighs upon the conscience, the things done in thought, word, and deed that have grieved Your Spirit. We confess together that we have all sinned and fall short of Your glory, and we ask for Your mercy. Lord, grant this soul a true and godly repentance, not just regret but a holy turning away from sin. Wash this heart clean by the blood of Jesus shed on the cross. Forgive as You have promised when we confess, and cleanse from all unrighteousness. Give strength to forsake every sin and to walk in newness of life, filled with Your Holy Spirit. Restore the joy of Your salvation and renew a right spirit within. Help this one to trust fully in Jesus as Lord and Savior, to believe that He alone is the way to be reconciled to You, and to live daily in obedience to Your Word. We ask that You would bring times of refreshing and peace that comes from knowing sins are blotted out. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Redeemer, amen.

We encourage you to continue in open confession before God, and if needed before a trusted pastor or mature believer for accountability as taught in James 5:16, and to immerse yourself in the Word and in prayer. Do not let the enemy keep you in shame after you have confessed, for Psalm 32:5 shows the blessedness of the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. If you have repented and believed on Jesus, receive His forgiveness by faith and go forward to forsake sin and pursue holiness, knowing He will keep you and help you walk in victory.

Thank you for putting this so simply and honestly. When you write "God knows," we hear both humility and hope, wanting to come clean before Him rather than hide.

We want to encourage you that repentance is not measured by how perfectly you feel in the moment. Often there is a clear decision to turn and do things differently, and then a slower process where your heart and emotions catch up. Feeling lingering guilt or struggle afterward does not mean your decision was not real. It often just means God is still doing His steady work in you over time.

That is why walking this out with someone else matters so much. Healing and change are almost always gradual, and having one trusted pastor or mature believer who can check in with you regularly, pray with you, and help you stay accountable makes it harder to slip back into old patterns alone. You do not need to share with many, just one faithful person who will walk with you consistently.

We are praying for you and we care about you.

Father, we lift up this heart to You. You see what is spoken and unspoken, and You welcome an honest turn toward You through Jesus. Give clarity, strength for each next choice, and trusted support nearby. Draw close and keep guiding day by day. In Jesus name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

God knows indeed, and that knowledge is both searching and merciful. He looks not as man looks, for man looks upon the outward appearance, but the Lord looks upon the heart. And seeing our powerlessness to grasp divine things, He visits us in grace and renews the fountain of our strength and the center of our nature by giving us a new heart and a right spirit. Your brief cry for repentance is precious before Him, for a desire to turn from sin and to be made right with God does not arise from nature alone.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. This is the sacrifice He will accept. Not mere words or outward service, but a heart broken before Him. No one ever worshipped God with his whole heart unless he worshipped Him with a broken heart. When God has put sweetness into our hearts, it is then that breaking develops the sweetness. Even for the most grievous sin, there is acceptance if you bring Him this sacrifice.

See then how you may weigh your repentance. True repentance, the work of the Spirit of God which God accepts, gives God glory. It glorifies Him by confessing that His law is holy and just, by loathing evil because it is so hateful to the heart of Jesus, and by setting the sinner ever afterwards craving after holiness. Law and terrors do but harden when they work alone, it is a sense of blood bought pardon that dissolves the heart of stone. Ask before the Lord whom no man can deceive, do you know anything of such a repentance that makes you avoid present sin because of the love of God who died for you.

And there is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. Whatever your life has been until now, however sinful, there is forgiveness with God. Divine pardon is the only forgiveness possible, for no one can remit sin but God only, and He does it for Christ's sake. God for Christ's sake has forgiven all who come to Him by faith, and He forgives continuously and eternally. He has no buts in His forgiveness. You make a clean breast in confession and He will give you a clean breast by absolution. If you are unfeignedly penitent and sue for forgiveness, He says, I, even I, am He that blots out your transgressions for My own sake.

May the Lord grant you that saving grace which is inseparable from faith. Repentance and faith go together, the repentance which ejects sin as an evil tenant and the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart, the repentance which purges the soul from dead works and the faith that fills the soul with living works. Give Him your heart, for He says, My son, give Me your heart. Without your heart all is an abomination to Him, to pray or to sing or to serve without your heart is solemn mockery. You cannot give Christ a piece of a heart, for a heart that is halved is killed. Give it at once and freely and thoroughly, that you may know the Lord not with the head only as another man's God, but with the heart to say, My Lord and my God, and so be at peace.

We pray that He who knows your heart will give you a broken and contrite spirit, that He will show you the blood bought pardon in Christ Jesus, blot out your transgressions, renew you to love holiness and to loathe sin, and teach you to walk before Him in newness of life to His glory alone.

God knows your heart and hears even this brief cry for repentance, and that is itself a sign of His mercy at work in you. He does not desire to punish, but to bring you to a true sense of your sins, so that becoming humble and condemning your own sins before Him, you may hasten to receive remission through Jesus Christ alone, who alone is the Redeemer and the one who brings forgiveness.

Do not despair, even if you feel stained after coming to faith. There is no second washing of baptism, but the profit of repentance is never taken away. The Lord taught His own disciples who already believed to pray, Our Father, forgive us our debts, and He gave the laws of the church to that same prayer, to show that even after baptism we may still wash ourselves from offenses. He remembers our sins not to shame us, but to make us modest, and He commands us to forgive others so that we may be set free from bitterness and receive His pardon with good hope in His unspeakable mercy.

Yet true repentance is more than words or a moment of tears. Scripture warns that Esau sought the blessing carefully with tears and found no place of repentance, because his grief was not true repentance and his life proved it. In the same way, John the Baptist came in the garment and life of repentance, preaching, bring forth fruits worthy of repentance. God, who is long suffering and of great mercy, forbears His wrath for a time, calling you to amendment, not to remain in sorrow only, but to turn.

Therefore bring your sins to remembrance before Him now, confess them plainly, and ask for forgiveness in the name of Christ. Do not sleep after the stain, but continue washing away pollution by repentance, by tears, by prayers, and by works of mercy, and by forgiving those who have sinned against you as you ask to be forgiven. Forsake what has led you away from Him and walk in a pure and sober life, showing by your deeds that your turning is real.

I pray for you that God, who is rich in mercy and long suffering, will grant you a humble and contrite heart, a true confession, and the grace to bear fruit worthy of repentance, that you may know the forgiveness that comes only through the blood of His Son, be cleansed with a clean conscience, and live in the hope of His glory.
