Repentance of Wrath sin

Dear lord I’m heavily sorry of the sin I have committed. The sin of wrath is an awful sin that has made its way back at me in my emotions Father I repent of this sin. I admit of committing this sin and I know what you have don’t on the cross to save me. Help me to repent in Jesus name amen.

We hear your cry for repentance and your deep sorrow over the sin of wrath, and we join with you in humility before our Heavenly Father. The Word of God tells us in James 1:19-20, "So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God." Wrath is indeed a destructive force, not only to those around us but also to our own hearts and souls. We acknowledge that unchecked anger can lead us away from the peace and love that Christ calls us to embody.

You have taken the first and most crucial step by confessing this sin and turning to the Lord in repentance. 1 John 1:9 assures us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." We stand with you in gratitude for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, which has made forgiveness and redemption possible. It is only through His name that we can approach the Father and receive mercy. There is no other name by which we can be saved, Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Let us pray together for your deliverance and transformation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who has confessed the sin of wrath. Lord, we thank You for Your boundless mercy and grace, which You have poured out through the blood of Jesus Christ. We ask that You would cleanse their heart and mind from all unrighteous anger, replacing it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in self-control, patience, and love, reflecting the character of Christ in every situation. Help them to guard their heart and tongue, that they may not sin against You or others in moments of frustration. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and we rebuke the spirit of anger that seeks to take root in their life. Strengthen them, Lord, to resist temptation and to flee from the works of the flesh. May they grow in the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). We pray that You would restore what has been broken by wrath and heal any relationships that have been damaged. Lord, we ask that You would draw them closer to You, that they may find their strength and refuge in Your presence. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on the Word of God daily, allowing it to renew your mind and transform your heart. Ephesians 4:31-32 reminds us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Surround yourself with fellow believers who can hold you accountable and pray with you as you seek to walk in holiness.

Remember, repentance is not just a one-time act but a daily surrender to God’s will. When you feel the stirrings of anger, pause and invite the Holy Spirit to guide your response. Proverbs 15:1 tells us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Let this be your guide in all interactions.

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

Thank you for sharing this honestly. It’s clear that your sorrow is real, and that itself is a sign of the Spirit’s work in you. We don’t take that lightly.

Sometimes anger, or wrath, as you named it, can feel overwhelming, as if it simply overtakes us before we even know what happened. In our experience, that kind of explosive anger often has something underneath it: a buried hurt, a hidden fear, or a deep frustration that never quite got handled. The anger becomes the only way those things find a voice. It doesn’t make the outbursts any less serious, but it can help to see that the anger is often a secondary emotion. That means you’re not a monster; you’re a person carrying pain that hasn’t been fully acknowledged yet.

One practical step you might take is to begin asking the Holy Spirit to show you, right in the moment when the heat starts rising, what’s actually happening under the surface. Not as an excuse, but so you can bring that deeper ache honestly to God instead of letting it erupt sideways. You might even jot down a few words right after a rough moment, not to relive it, but to start noticing patterns. Over time, you’ll likely see the real triggers, and then God can begin to heal those deeper places.

We’re praying with you, not for perfect composure, but for a heart that increasingly finds its safety and its voice in Christ.

Jesus, thank You that this person’s sin has already been paid for. Receive their repentance with joy. Quiet their shame, and teach them to recognize what’s happening inside before wrath takes over. Give them courage to face whatever hurts or fears are fueling this, and walk with them step by step into real freedom. In Your strong name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The burden of your confession is not a strange thing in the ears of Heaven. When you tell of your sin, you put us in memory of the way in which we talked, perhaps 25 years ago, or more, when we, too, felt sin a burden as you feel it now. This weight you feel is not meant to drive you to despair but to the place where the offense went, for from that very place the forgiveness comes: there is forgiveness with Him.

Yet beware of a superficial repentance, for the Lord abhors it. God is not mocked. He sees the loathsomeness of the ulcer through the film which seeks to hide it. That repentance which is worth having turns a man inside out and purges the innermost part of the soul, killing the love of sin so that even if sin could be made profitable and sweet to the man, he could not abide it. The really repentant one hates sin as sin and turns from it with purpose of heart. Do not merely dread the consequences of wrath, but loathe the wrath itself because it offends the God who loved you and gave Himself for you. Repentance makes a rainbow with her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the love of Christ and His great finished work.

For here is the sure word: there is forgiveness. That is a matter of certainty. Notice the broad indefiniteness of it, it does not say there is forgiveness only for a certain sort of sin. Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. Sin must be a great thing to need such a great Sacrifice to put it away, but the forgiveness of sin is according to the riches of God's Grace, as if, in order to get rid of sin, the Infinite Wealth of His great heart of love must be freely spent. The moment a sinner looks to Christ, the burden of his sin rolls from off his shoulders never to return. A sigh, a groan, a genuine confession of sin, a believing glance of the eye to Christ on Calvary, and all is done, your sin has passed away, there is forgiveness and you have received it!

Let this divine pardon work in you that repentance which needs not to be repented of. Evangelical repentance is one of the fruits of the Gospel of forgiveness and no other tree can produce it. Repentance stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven and then repents more than she ever did when she could not spy out forgiveness. Go then, and as you hate the sin that required such a death, rejoice that the forgiveness is eternal, never to be mentioned against you forever. So shall the fear of the Lord take root in your heart, and you shall go and sin no more, walking in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free.

You say you repent, and that is well, a contrite spirit is the beginning of amendment. But let your sorrow be of the right sort, not the sorrow of the world that worketh death. Judas repented, but in an evil way, for he hanged himself. Esau wept too, yet his tears were of pride and wounded vanity, not of a broken heart. True repentance is not merely to admit the deed; it is to weep as Peter wept, bitterly and long, even after the sin was forgiven.

What is the root of this wrath you confess? Do you grieve only that it returned upon your own head, or that you have offended the God who has been so longsuffering with you? He has not exacted swift punishment, though you provoked Him. He bears with you, giving space for amendment, and this very patience is meant to lead you to a thorough repentance. If you stop short, merely naming the sin while the ember still glows within, you deceive yourself. You would be hardening your heart and treasuring up wrath for yourself against the day of righteous judgment.

Do not despair, for despair is more ruinous than the sin itself. The physician has already applied the remedy. Reflect on how the apostles and David became better men, not by a passing word, but by letting the divine word cut to the heart and then turning with their whole soul. Hear Christ saying to you, as to the man at the pool, “Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” Let the medicine of His long patience not be wasted on you. Go now, and as you have confessed, so now amend.
