Repent

We hear your heart’s cry for repentance, and we rejoice that the Holy Spirit is drawing you closer to the Father. Repentance is not a one-time act but a daily posture of turning away from sin and turning toward God. The Word tells us in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This is the promise we stand on, His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

First, let us address the foundation: salvation through Jesus Christ. There is no repentance without first surrendering to Him as Lord. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If you have not yet confessed Jesus as your Savior, we urge you to do so now. Repentance flows from a heart that has been redeemed by His blood. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Now, for daily prayers of repentance, we encourage you to begin with these simple yet powerful declarations and petitions, rooted in Scripture:

Morning Prayer of Repentance:
"Heavenly Father, I come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. I thank You for the gift of this new day and for Your unfailing love. I confess that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. Search my heart, O God, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way (Psalm 139:23-24). Forgive me for the sins I have committed, whether in thought, word, or deed. Cleanse me with the blood of Jesus, and create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me (Psalm 51:10). Help me to walk in obedience to Your Word today, and let my life bring glory to Your name. I surrender this day to You, trusting in Your mercy and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

Evening Prayer of Repentance:
"Father God, I come to You at the end of this day, grateful for Your faithfulness. I ask that You would examine my heart and reveal any areas where I have fallen short. If I have sinned against You or others, I repent and ask for Your forgiveness. Your Word says that if we confess our sins, You are faithful to forgive us (1 John 1:9). Thank You for Your mercy. Help me to learn from my mistakes and to walk in Your ways. Guard my heart and mind as I rest, and fill me with Your peace. I commit this night into Your hands, trusting in Your protection and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

In addition to these prayers, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily. Psalm 119:11 says, "I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Meditate on Scripture, and let it guide your thoughts and actions. Here are a few verses to reflect on as you seek repentance:
- "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:7).
- "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded" (James 4:8).
- "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:8-9).

We also want to gently address the importance of walking in holiness. Repentance is not just about feeling sorry for sin, it is about turning away from it. If there are areas in your life where you are knowingly disobeying God’s commands, such as sexual immorality, idolatry, or ungodly relationships, we urge you to surrender those to Him now. The Bible is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). If you are in a relationship that does not honor God, whether it involves premarital sex, an unequally yoked partnership, or a same-sex relationship, we encourage you to seek God’s will and align your life with His Word. True repentance requires action.

Finally, remember that repentance is a gift from God. It is His kindness that leads us to turn from sin (Romans 2:4). You are not alone in this journey. We stand with you in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to empower you to walk in righteousness. Let us pray for you now:

"Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would draw them closer to Your heart. Lord, You are faithful and just to forgive their sins and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. We pray that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, giving them the strength to turn away from sin and walk in obedience to Your Word. Help them to hide Your Word in their heart so they may not sin against You. Father, if there are areas in their life that do not align with Your will, reveal them and give them the courage to surrender those to You. Surround them with godly community and accountability. May their life be a testimony of Your grace and mercy. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen."

Keep pressing into God, dear one. His arms are open wide, and His grace is sufficient for you. We are here to support you in prayer and encouragement as you walk this path of repentance and renewal.

What a holy hunger you’ve shared, to want to turn back to God not once, but day and night. That desire itself is a gift, and we’re glad you reached out.

Repentance is so much more than feeling bad for what we’ve done wrong. It’s a daily reorientation, a turning of our heart back toward the Father who is always facing us with open arms. Some days the turning feels clumsy or half-hearted, but the very act of showing up again is what He honors. We don’t need to manufacture sorrow; we simply bring ourselves, our frailty, our weariness, our uneven steps, and ask Him to redirect our path.

One simple practice that many have found helpful is to bookend the day with a quiet, honest prayer. In the morning, you might say something like: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on me, a sinner. And at night, before sleep, you could place the day just as it was into His hands: Father, I turn away from what displeased You today, and I turn toward Your forgiveness. Renew a right spirit within me as I rest. There’s no magic in the words; the power is in the turning.

As you keep bringing your heart back to Him in this way, we’re praying alongside you.

Jesus, we lift our friend to You, thank You for kindling this desire for daily repentance. Keep them from shame and discouragement, and instead deepen their trust that Your mercy is fresh every morning. Teach them to rest in Your finished work even as they walk in honest turning. Draw them ever closer to Your heart, and let this rhythm of repentance become a quiet, steady companionship with You. Amen.

Dear friend, I have considered your request, and I am thankful for any soul that desires to turn from sin unto the living God. Yet I must gently caution you that true repentance is not found in the mere reciting of prayers, however many or earnest they may be. It is a grace which the Holy Spirit works in the heart, and it flows from a sight of Christ crucified.

When you ask for daily words to repeat, I fear lest you should fall into the error of thinking that repentance is a set of phrases or a task to be performed. Rather, repentance is a constant turning from sin and a turning unto God, accompanied by a simple faith in the Lord Jesus. Every day, indeed every hour, we need to behold the cross and see there our sin laid upon the spotless Lamb. That sight will break the hard heart and make the eyes flow with tears of holy grief, yet it will also fill the soul with a sweet peace that passes understanding.

But if you would have a form of words to guide your thoughts, I would urge you not to lean upon any written prayer as a mere incantation. Instead, let your soul pour itself out thus:

"Lord God, I confess that I have sinned against Thee. I have done evil in Thy sight, and without Thy mercy I am undone. But Thou hast commanded me to repent and believe the gospel. I come to Thee in the name of Jesus. Forgive my many transgressions for His sake. Break my heart, O Lord, and make me hate the sin that nailed Him to the tree. By Thy Spirit, cause me to walk in newness of life this day. I trust wholly in the blood of Christ; be merciful to me, a sinner. Amen."

But remember, dear soul, that such words are but the outward sign. The true sacrifice God will not despise is a broken and a contrite heart. Repentance is not a single act, done once and finished; it lives as long as faith lives. You will need to repent and believe all your pilgrimage through. Look not to your own feelings or tears, but to Jesus only. It is His goodness that leads to repentance, and His love that melts our enmity away. Go then to Him just as you are, and let your prayer be ever this: "God be merciful to me a sinner."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for simple daily prayers to repent day and night. This very longing is a mercy from God, who in His great longsuffering grants each new day as a space for repentance. For there is not a single day pure from sin, but in something greater or less we all offend; yet He does not exact punishment at once, but bears with us, that we might turn to Him. Therefore never despair, but let your daily sins drive you daily to the Loving One.

The present life is night, filled with snares and dreams that pass away. We go forth to a fight, to a tempest and a storm in the marketplace. We need weapons, and prayer is a great weapon. Especially do we need prayer early and by night. When you rise at dawn, before the day’s business, make God propitious by supplication. Kneel and say from your heart: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Forgive the offenses of the night and of yesterday, and arm me with Your light to walk honestly as in the day.” Then go forth with confidence, for you have put on the armor of light, and no enemy can harm you while God is gracious to you.

When evening falls, examine your conscience. Recall the day’s wounds, the stumblings in thought, word, or deed. Again draw near and pray: “O righteous Judge, strong and patient, be merciful to me a sinner. I have fallen many times today, but by Your long-suffering grant me forgiveness. Give me a watchful and sober heart, that I may sleep in peace and rise to serve You anew.” And always let the prayer our Master taught us be on your lips: “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” This prayer belongs to believers, and by it Christ shows that even after the laver of baptism, the profit of repentance is not taken away. He bids us ask daily for forgiveness, reminding us that we may always wash away our offenses, so long as we approach with humility and forgive others from our hearts.

Do not let the multitude of your falls cast you down. If we sin every day, let us entreat Him every day. His mercy is unspeakable; He did not command us to pray thus in order to condemn, but to lift us up. So let your whole life become a constant turning to the Light. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Keep these simple prayers morning and evening, and you will learn to walk soberly, ever repenting, ever receiving grace.

I would really appreciate your prayers. I've been repenting of my anger towards my mother for the abuse that she allowed to happen in my childhood but can't see or feel anything happening.
