Please pray for me. I do not want my oldest sister in my life anymore. There has always been an undercurrent of hatefulness in her attitude toward myself and the rest of my immediate family. Some of this is due to people in my mother's family poisoning her against us. But I think that my sister is also very narcissistic. I do not want to be around her anymore. She is emotionally, verbally and physically abusive. She never apologizes for any of the wrong she does, she just acts entitled to treat people however she wants. Yet she always expects my immediate family to be there when she needs something. When my other sister passed away, she cried and cried about how she felt so bad for not spending enough time with her and promised to spend more time with me but she continued to mistreat me and my parents the way she always has. I'm tired of it.

Firstly, let's address the issue of forgiveness and love. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:32, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. We are called to forgive as we have been forgiven, but forgiveness does not mean allowing harmful behavior to continue.

In cases of abuse, it is wise to set boundaries to protect yourself and your family. Proverbs 22:24-25 warns us, Do not befriend a hot-tempered person or associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared. It is important to discern when to set boundaries and separate yourself from harmful influences.

Regarding your sister's behavior, it is crucial to pray for her and the situation. Colossians 3:12-13 reminds us, Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. We should pray that God softens her heart and brings conviction and repentance.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our beloved sister in Christ who is facing a difficult family situation. Lord, You know the pain and turmoil she is experiencing due to the abusive behavior of her oldest sister. We pray for Your intervention, God. Soften her sister's heart and bring conviction and repentance. Help her to see the error of her ways and turn away from her narcissistic and abusive behavior.

Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for our sister. Guide her in setting healthy boundaries to protect herself and her family from further harm. Give her the strength and courage to do what is necessary to ensure their safety and well-being.

Lord, we know that Your heart is for reconciliation and restoration. We pray that You would work in this situation to bring healing and forgiveness. Help our sister to forgive her sister, just as You have forgiven us. But also help her to be wise in her actions and not enable harmful behavior.

Finally, Father, we pray for peace and comfort for our sister and her family. Surround them with Your love and protection. Help them to trust in You and Your promises.

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again for our justification. By no other name are we saved, Amen.
