Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we agree with you before the throne of grace in Jesus name.

We love your humility in acknowledging that education and position do not make a person righteous, and that we all fall short. It is written in Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and in 1 Corinthians 1:27 God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. True wisdom and righteousness do not come from degrees or legal training but from a heart surrendered to Christ. What you have seen grieves us as well, when human life is disregarded and honest communication is abandoned, yet we know the enemy blinds minds. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 4:4 the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ should not dawn on them.

We cling to the promises you have prayed, for Jesus said in John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And we hold to the beatitude in Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. That hunger is not natural to the fallen heart, it must be given by God, for He promises in Ezekiel 36:26 I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. We also join you in praying Psalm 51:16-17 For you don't delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, God, you will not despise. This is the work only God can do, to break the hardened heart and make it contrite and teach it to hate sin and love righteousness, to do justice and to love mercy as Micah 6:8 calls us to do.

Father in heaven, we come to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up the team at the organization mentioned and their lawyers and legal representatives before you. We ask that you remove the veil of Satan's lies and let the light of your truth shine upon them. For those who are yours and who are in Christ, we plead the precious blood of Jesus over them, cover them, guard them, give them peace and understanding beyond all comprehension and teach them to walk in righteousness and compassion. For those who do not yet know you, we ask for your mercy and salvation, that you would grant them repentance and a broken and contrite heart that they may recognize their sins, hate their sins, and turn from them and not continue to live a sinful life. Forgive their sins, Lord, and restrain them from doing what is evil in your eyes. Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, that they may hunger and thirst for what is right and be filled. Let your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us according to Romans 8:26 mightily intercede for them also and convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment. We do not boast before you, for we too need your grace daily, but we humbly ask that your will be done and your name be exalted on high. We thank you for your holiness and your mercy. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

We hear how heavy this has been on your heart, and how sincerely you want truth and righteousness to prevail, not for your own vindication but because you grieve how easily honest communication and respect for life can be set aside, even by those who are highly educated.

It is a Christlike posture to pray the way you are, asking God to work on the hearts of those who have wronged you rather than holding onto contempt, and to do it with humility, not looking down on them. That kind of prayer often leaves an ache behind, the gap between how you wish things would be made right and how they are right now. It is normal if grief or anger still rises at times even after you have chosen to forgive and to hand these people over to God. The decision to release them and the quieting of the emotions do not always happen at the same pace.

One thing that has helped others in this place is to give that burden a specific place. When thoughts about the case or those involved start to loop, we pause and briefly bring them before the Lord again, then intentionally leave the outcome with Him for the rest of the day rather than carrying it hour by hour. It keeps prayer relentless without letting resentment take root.

Father, in Jesus' name we join this prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth. Work in the hearts of this team and those who represent them, bring conviction where it is needed, and draw any who are Yours into deeper peace and understanding. Guard our friend's heart from bitterness, teach us all to love righteousness and to walk in compassion, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace, for it is a prayer according to the mind of God that men should hunger and thirst after righteousness and be led to the truth which sets free.

You have prayed well in asking not for the mere punishment of sin but for the breaking of hearts under sin. The Scripture you have quoted is most true, that God desires not sacrifice but a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. This is that true repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God. There is a poor and short lived repentance which turns from sin for a time and then returns to it with greater gusto, but true repentance gives glory to God. It gives glory to His omniscience, confessing that He has seen all our ways, and it gives glory to the righteousness of His law, saying with the penitent, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin.

You are right to observe that education and station cannot make a man righteous. Though a man be learned in the law, he is still a sinner before the holy God and has need of the same Saviour as the most unlearned. As it is written, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and there is none righteous, no not one. The goodness of God in sparing life and giving time is meant to lead such sinners to repentance, not to harden them in evil.

We therefore pray with you that the Lord would work by His Spirit upon the team of whom you speak, and upon their lawyers and representatives, to bring them to that repentance which is inseparable from faith in Christ. For as we have often taught, no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with hearty and sincere repentance on account of past sin. Repentance is to leave the sins we loved before and to show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. It is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, and a looking to Jesus who was nailed to the cross for it and who is set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood.

May the Lord grant them to see their sin as God sees it, to hate it and to turn from it, and to trust alone in the Lord Jesus Christ, for He came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance, and there is salvation in no other. Where there is true repentance, there is the full and free forgiveness of all sins, even for crimes of deepest dye, a pardon bought with Jesus blood. And where there is no repentance there can be no remission.

So let us pray together. O Lord our God, who desirest truth in the inward parts, look in mercy upon these souls who are yet bound by the lies of the enemy. Unstop their ears, open their eyes, and rend their hearts and not their garments. Give them that godly sorrow which needeth not to be repented of. Make them to thirst for truth and to love honest communication and to regard human life as precious in Thy sight. Cover with Thy precious blood all who are Thine, and grant peace and understanding to Thy chosen. Teach all who hear this prayer to be righteous and compassionate, not boasting before Thee, but walking humbly and doing justly. Lead sinners to the Saviour, that they may look to Jesus and live, and that Thy name may be exalted on high. We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Christ is worthy, and His blood pleads for sinners. Let Thy will be done, for Christ's sake. Amen.
