Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we thank you for coming to the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved.

We agree with your heart that the truth is what sets men free, as it is written in John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and that Jesus Himself is that truth, for He said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Apart from Him, even the most educated and learned remain bound, for the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving as written in 2 Corinthians 4:4. Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places as written in Ephesians 6:12, and so we do not look down on these lawyers and representatives with pride, for we ourselves have fallen short, as written in Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. We humbly acknowledge with you that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a heart righteous, only Christ can.

We are encouraged by your humble spirit that does not wish to boast but desires their repentance and restoration, and we pray with you that God would grant them what you quoted from Psalm 51:16-17 For you don't delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. How beautiful that you are asking not for vengeance but for brokenness, for a hatred of sin and a love for what is right and compassionate. This is the heart God honors. We also claim with you the promise of Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, and we ask the Lord to create that very hunger where there is now disregard for human life and honest communication.

We pray together now, Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up the team and their lawyers and legal representatives that were mentioned. Lord, we ask that You shine Your light into every place where Satan's lies have bound them. Remove the veil from their eyes and let them know the truth that is in Christ Jesus. We plead the precious blood of Jesus over those who are Yours, Your chosen ones, and we ask for Your covering of peace and understanding over them as they walk through this difficult time. Give them wisdom and compassion beyond their own ability. Father, we ask that You work deeply on the hearts of those who are acting unrighteously, that You would grant them a broken and contrite spirit, that they would recognize their sins, confess them, and turn from them, hating what You hate and loving what You love. Forgive their sins as only You can, and by Your Holy Spirit restrain them from doing any further evil in Your sight. Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, that they may do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with You as written in Micah 6:8. Let Your will be done in this situation, and let Your name be exalted on high. We thank You that Your Holy Spirit intercedes for us according to Your will as written in Romans 8:26. We trust not in the wisdom of men but in Your power and Your mercy to save and to transform. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

We were moved by how faithfully you have been lifting this situation to the Lord. Watching people who are educated and entrusted with the law act in ways that feel dishonest and dismissive of human life is a real grief, and we hear how heavy that has been on you.

We join you in asking God to stir in the hearts of that team and their representatives a deeper hunger for what is true and right, and to protect and give wisdom to the believers involved. We also want to pray for you as you carry this burden.

One distinction that helps many who are praying through this kind of hurt is between a settled decision to release the debt and the slower healing of emotions. A decision can be made quietly before God to not hold onto revenge or contempt, while the feelings of anger, disappointment or sorrow often take longer to soften. Making that decision does not excuse what happened and does not require rebuilding a relationship, it simply frees your heart to keep entrusting justice to God.

It may help to give this prayer a contained place in your day, a set time to bring these people and this case before the Lord and then intentionally leave the outcome in His hands, rather than carrying it hour by hour.

Father, we lift this team and their lawyers to You in Jesus name. Work in their hearts to love truth and to turn from what is wrong, and cover Your people with peace and understanding. Guard our friend from bitterness, give wisdom for how to pray and when to rest, and let Your will be done. Amen.

We have joined our hearts with yours in this burden which you have laid before the throne of grace, and we count it a right and needful prayer that you have offered.

You have asked well, for you have asked for that which God delights to give, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. As it is written, the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, and where there is true sorrow for sin, where there is an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, where there is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, that repentance has been produced by the Spirit of God and it is as much a gift of His grace as pardon itself.

You pray that those who are bound by Satan's lies, the team and their lawyers and legal representatives, may have an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. This is to pray according to the mind of Christ, for He is the Truth that sets men free, and He is the Sun of righteousness who alone can shine into darkened understandings. We do not pray that God would bless them in the continuance of any evil way, nor that He would prosper dishonesty or the disregarding of human life, for God cannot bless that which His holy Law condemns. His Law is holy and just and good, and the fault is with us when we transgress it. Rather we pray as you have prayed, that God in His great goodness would lead them to repentance.

For the goodness of God is meant to lead sinners to repentance. He spares life, He gives time, He affords the light of truth, not that men may harden themselves, but that they may turn to Him. True repentance gives glory to the omniscience of God, confessing that He sees all, and it gives glory to the righteousness of God in His Law, saying with a sincere heart, I have sinned and done evil in Your sight. And true repentance gives glory to the grace of God in Christ Jesus, leaping for joy at the thought that God has set forth His Son to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood.

Remember, as the children's hymn so simply puts it, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. It is not a poor and short lived sorrow which turns from sin for a season and then returns to it with greater gusto. It is a practical repentance which yields works meet for repentance, and it lasts, for it is wrought by the Spirit and linked inseparably with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. No faith can be genuine but such as is consistent with hearty repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Him who died for sinners.

Therefore we will pray with you that the Lord will work upon their hearts, that He will make them to hate the sin they once loved, and to thirst after righteousness as a man thirsts for water. That He will cover with His precious blood all who are His chosen and all who truly trust in Christ, giving them peace and understanding and a compassionate heart. And that He will teach all who hear this prayer, whether learned in the law or unlearned, that there is no salvation but through Jesus Christ alone, who loved the Church and gave Himself for it, and who has redeemed us from among men.

If any feel their repentance is shallow and their faith is small, let them look to Jesus. It is beholding Him who bled and died that begets repentance and faith together. Look to Him now, and ask for that deep and lasting work of grace, for sweet sister repentance is charming company at the feet of Jesus, not sorrow for unpardoned sin, but sorrow for pardoned sin, laid upon Christ and put away forever.

May the Lord grant to those for whom you intercede, and to you who intercede, that unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness which only He can give, that you may be filled, and that He may have the glory.
