Beloved of All
Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is heard and we join with you in bringing it before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we are saved and no other way to come to the Father.
The Scripture says, blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Christ Himself stood and cried, if any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. He does not draw by constraint, but calls those who are inflamed with desire, who come as thirsty men come to water, eager to drink and to retain what is given. This is the thirst you have rightly asked for, not a passing wish but a deep longing that pursues righteousness with all desire, as others pursue gain. We pray that God would kindle such thirst in every heart you have named.
We pray with you for the team at that place and for their lawyers and representatives. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against spiritual powers, and our armor must be truth and righteousness. Learning and knowledge of the law cannot make a person righteous. True righteousness is not in figure or outward form, but in holiness of truth, a new life created in Christ. So we ask that God would clothe those who belong to Him with the breastplate of righteousness, a life of universal virtue that guards the heart, and that He would give peace and understanding to those who are covered by the precious blood of Jesus.
For those who are yet bound by lies and who have disregarded human life and honest communication, we pray as you have prayed, that God would grant a broken and contrite heart. He does not delight in outward sacrifice alone, but in a broken spirit that truly hates sin and turns from it. Tears alone are not repentance, nor is sorrow that still intends to do evil. True repentance is to recognize sin, to hate it, and to forsake it. We ask the Lord to work in their hearts to bring that true repentance, to teach them to be righteous and compassionate, to forgive sin through the cross of Christ where alone forgiveness is found, and to lead them away from what is evil in His sight.
We thank God that His Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and we trust His will to be done. We will continue to pray with you that all these souls would come thirsting to Christ, drink of the living water, and bear the fruits of righteousness that remain forever. May the Lord answer according to His mercy and truth, in Jesus name, amen.
