Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we are moved by your humility and compassion in praying for those who have opposed you.

Your heart reflects what our Lord teaches, to pray for those who may be bound by deception and to desire their redemption rather than their condemnation. It is true as you quoted, you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, John 8:32, and Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life, John 14:6. Apart from Him there is no true righteousness, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23. Education, position, or knowledge of the law cannot make a person righteous, only a transformed heart through Christ can.

We echo your prayer that the Lord would give them what He promises to those who seek Him, blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, Matthew 5:6. We pray that God would replace a heart of stone with a heart of flesh, Ezekiel 36:26, and grant the broken and contrite heart that You will not despise, Psalm 51:17, which you so beautifully quoted. When sin is confessed, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9.

We also remember that the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth, John 16:13, and intercedes for us according to the will of God, Romans 8:26-27. It grieves us also when human life is disregarded and honest communication is abandoned, for the Lord desires justice and mercy and humility, Micah 6:8, and it is a joy to the righteous to do justice, Proverbs 21:15. The enemy is the father of lies, John 8:44, and only Christ can break those chains.

So we pray together with you.

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We lift up the team and their lawyers and legal representatives before Your throne of grace. Lord, You see every heart and every motive. We ask that You pierce any darkness and deception with Your light and truth. Give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that only You can satisfy. Create in them a broken and contrite spirit, that they may recognize their sin, hate their sin, and turn from it. Forgive them as You forgive us when we repent, and keep them from doing what is evil in Your eyes. Cover Your chosen ones and all who belong to Christ with the precious blood of Jesus, grant them peace and understanding and wisdom beyond their own. Teach us all to be righteous and compassionate as You are. Stir every heart involved to love truth, to honor human life, and to speak honestly. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ and trust Your Holy Spirit to continue interceding. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in this intercession, for the effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much, James 5:16. Continue to pray with love and without boasting, keeping your own heart humble before the Lord, knowing that we too are saved only by grace. May the Lord sustain you with peace as you hunger for His righteousness.

We were moved by your prayer for a thirst for truth and righteousness, and by the humble way you brought these lawyers and the whole team before the Lord. It is painful to watch people disregard honest communication and human life, and we hear how deeply that grief sits with you, even as you refuse to boast or look down on them.

What stood out to us is your focus on the heart. Lasting change does not come from feeling bad for a moment when caught or under pressure, but from a deeper work where a person truly sees wrong for what it is, owns it before God, and turns to walk a different direction. That kind of turning is something only God can do, and your prayer for a humble, contrite heart captures it well. We join you in asking the Holy Spirit to keep interceding where words fall short.

One steady way to keep praying without growing weary is to keep your intercession anchored there, asking God to open eyes to truth and to give the courage to act on it, while leaving the timing and the outcome in His hands. It helps guard your own heart from carrying bitterness that was never yours to carry.

Father, we lift this team and their representatives to You in Jesus name. Cover those who are Yours with peace and understanding, and work in every heart to love truth and to choose what is right and compassionate. Give our friend rest as they trust Your will to be done. In Jesus name, amen.

Your cry for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness has been heard, and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is a good and necessary prayer, for such a thirst is not of nature but of grace. The heart that truly longs for truth and righteousness is a heart that the Spirit of God has touched. You have prayed well in citing that word, The truth shall set you free, and in pleading Psalm 51, that the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. This is the very repentance we must seek for these souls and for ourselves.

We pray with you for the team at that place, and for their lawyers and legal representatives. We do not ask God to wink at sin, nor to bless any course that is evil in His eyes, but we ask Him to do that which only He can do, to work upon their hearts by His Spirit, to give them that true repentance which gives glory to His omniscience and to His righteous law, which says not that the law is hard but that we are carnal, sold under sin, and which therefore hates sin and turns from it.

For there is a repentance that is poor and short lived, a turning away for a time and then a going back with greater gusto. But the repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God is practical and lasting. It may be described as the children's hymn so simply puts it, to leave the sins we loved before and show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. It is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, and a looking to Jesus who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood.

We therefore plead the precious blood of Christ alone for the saving of sinners, for there is no other name under heaven whereby we must be saved. We ask that those who are His chosen may be covered and kept in peace and understanding, and that those who are yet bound by Satan's lies may be led to see the goodness of God which ought to lead them to repentance. How great is His goodness in sparing life, in giving time, in sending truth to their ears. May that goodness melt what hardness would not break.

We pray that the Lord will stir their hearts to recognise their sins, to hate their sins, and to forsake them, not in their own strength but by looking to Jesus. For no faith can be genuine but such as is consistent with hearty and sincere repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Christ who was nailed to the cross for it. May they be brought to weep not with a bitter despair, but with that sweet sorrow at the feet of Jesus which grieves for pardoned sin because it pierced so loving a Saviour.

And for you who have brought this burden, take comfort and continue in relentless prayer. If you would have deeper repentance and a fuller thirst for righteousness, look to Jesus. Ask for an increase of faith and it will grow, and with it repentance will deepen. He who has begun a good work will perfect it.

We commend you and all those for whom you pray to Him who is the Sun of Righteousness, who rides upon the heavens and whose light no darkness can impede. May He create in all a clean heart and renew a right spirit within, that truth may be loved, righteousness pursued, and His holy name exalted.

We have prayed, and we will continue to pray, that His will be done, and that where there is true repentance there may be known the full and free remission of sins through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
