Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you together in Jesus name in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we are encouraged by the humility and brokenness in your request. You are right to acknowledge that education and position do not make anyone righteous before God, for it is written in Rom 3:23 that all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and in 1 Cor 1:20 that God has made the wisdom of this world foolish. Even those trained in the law can be bound by sin and lies when their hearts are not surrendered to Christ, and we agree with you that only God can change the heart.

We love your hunger for what Jesus promised in Matt 5:6, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, and for the freedom that comes only through Him, for Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and in John 8:32, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. True righteousness and true compassion are not learned in schools but are given by the Holy Spirit to a repentant heart. You quoted well from Psalm 51:17, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise, and we cling to the promise in Ezek 36:26, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

So together we pray, Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we ask for Your will to be done. Lord, we lift up the team and their lawyers and legal representatives that were mentioned, and we ask that You pierce through every lie of the enemy that has bound them. Where there has been disregard for human life and for honest communication, bring conviction by Your Holy Spirit. Give them a broken and contrite heart that hates sin and turns from it, and grant them repentance that leads to life. We pray that those among them who are Yours, who are chosen in Christ, would be covered by the precious blood of Jesus, kept in Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and taught to walk in righteousness and compassion. For those who do not yet know You, we pray for salvation, that they would confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, for in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Forgive their sins as they repent and turn to You, and let them no longer do what is evil in Your eyes. Stir their hearts, Father, and create in them an unquenchable thirst for Your truth and Your righteousness, that they would love what You love and hate what You hate, and that they would speak truth and act justly. We thank You for Your holiness and for Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us according to Your will in Rom 8:26. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ on high and we trust You to work even in this difficult legal situation for Your glory and for good. Let Your will be done, Heavenly Father, in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfastly in this prayer, for God hears the prayers of the righteous and He desires truth in the inward parts as in Psalm 51:6. Keep praying that God would not only restrain evil but transform hearts, and keep guarding your own heart from bitterness or pride, remembering that we too stand only by grace. We stand with you asking that the Lord would make His truth known and His righteousness prevail.

We hear the burden in your prayer and we are joining you in it. Wanting to see truth and righteousness take root, especially when you have seen dishonesty and a disregard for human life, is heavy to carry. We appreciate your humility too, not wanting to boast or look down on others while still naming what is wrong so honestly.

That unquenchable thirst you are asking God to give is something only He can create in a heart. We cannot argue someone into loving what is true, but we can keep bringing them before the Lord who is able to soften hearts, bring conviction, and change desires from the inside out. He hears your intercession for the team at ### and their lawyers and representatives, and He cares both about justice being done and about each person involved.

One simple rhythm that helps when a prayer like this stays on your heart is to set aside a brief time each day to lift those names to Jesus by name, ask for His mercy and for a growing love of what is true and right, and then consciously place them back in His hands for the rest of the day. It keeps the prayer faithful without letting the sorrow weigh on you alone.

Father, we bring this team and their legal representatives before You in Jesus' name. Have mercy on them and work in their hearts in the way only You can, giving them a real hunger for truth and for what is right in Your eyes. Cover those who belong to You with Your peace and wisdom, and help our friend who is praying to rest in Your good will being done. Amen.

We have heard your prayer and we join with you in it before the throne of grace, for it is a prayer which the Spirit of God Himself must have taught you to pray.

You grieve, and rightly, that men who are learned in the law should yet be found disregarding human life and honest communication. But herein we see again what Scripture declares, that there is no difference, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Education cannot give righteousness, nor can knowledge of statutes wash the heart. If Abraham had been justified by works he would have had something to boast about, but not before God. The righteousness which avails before God is that righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe. It is manifested without the law, though witnessed by the law and the prophets, and it must be received by faith alone.

You have prayed well from Psalm 51, that God desires not mere sacrifice but a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. This is true repentance, and it is inseparable from true faith. Repentance is to leave the sins we loved before and to show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with hearty and sincere repentance on account of past sin. Where there is real sorrow for sin, where there is an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, where there is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, that repentance has been produced by the Spirit of God and it is as much a gift of His grace as faith itself.

We pray then as you have asked, that the Lord would work upon the hearts of these men, the team at that place and their lawyers and representatives, and indeed upon all who are bound by Satan's lies. May the Lord give them that godly sorrow which gives glory to His omniscience and to the righteousness of His holy law, so that they may say, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. May they be brought not to a poor and short lived repentance which turns away for a time and then returns with greater gusto, but to that practical and lasting repentance which yields works meet for repentance and which needs not to be repented of.

And we pray that they may look to Jesus, who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood. God will never punish twice for one offense, first the Substitute and then the sinner for whom He stood. Christ has worked out and brought in a perfect righteousness, and that righteousness is available for the chief of sinners who will believe on Him that justifies the ungodly. For those who are already chosen and are in Christ, we ask that the precious blood may cover them indeed, and give them peace and understanding, and teach them to walk in compassion and truth. For those yet unconverted, we ask that the Sun of Righteousness may arise upon them, that they may see their sin as laid on Christ and find pardon for crimes of deepest dye, a pardon bought with Jesus' blood, and with it an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness which only He can satisfy.

Continue steadfast in this supplication. He who delights in a contrite heart will hear. Look to Jesus, for that sight begets repentance and faith together. May the Lord make you also to abound in that same thirst, and to find your satisfaction in Christ alone, who is our righteousness and our peace.

We commend you and those for whom you intercede to the mercy of our covenant God, praying that His will be done and His name exalted on high, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is right and pleasing to God, and I join my voice with yours in asking Him to grant it.

You have prayed as those who are thirsty pray. As it was said, they who come to the divine preaching must show the desire of thirsty men for water and kindle in themselves a similar longing. The Lord Himself stood and cried, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink. He does not draw us by force, but He calls those who are inflamed with desire. And He has promised, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. This is not a cold or half hearted wish, but a hunger pursued with all desire, as a man longs for food and drink. That is the thirst you have asked for, and it is good to ask for it without ceasing both for yourself and for others.

You ask it also for those who handle the law, and you do well to pray for them with compassion and not with boasting. For righteousness is not a matter of education or skill in argument, but of a life of virtue. As the breastplate guards the body, so righteousness guards the soul, and without it no learning can make a man secure. True righteousness, as it is written, is in holiness of truth, not in outward form only. Therefore we pray that God would make them lovers of truth in the inward parts.

You quoted rightly that God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone, but a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. That is the beginning of change. When the heart is broken over sin and learns to hate sin, then repentance is real. Tears alone are not enough if the heart does not turn, as we see in those who sought repentance carelessly and did not find it because they did not repent as they ought. But where there is a true turning, repentance is not shut out. God is able to renew the heart by His grace and to cover with the blood of Christ those who turn to Him in faith.

So let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask You to pour out living water upon all who thirst, and to kindle in these souls a deep and lasting hunger for truth and righteousness. Grant to those for whom we intercede a broken and contrite heart, that they may see their sin clearly, turn from what is evil in Your eyes, and walk in compassion and honesty. Guard those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding, teach them to love what You love, and make their lives firm in righteousness. Let Your will be done, and let Your Holy Spirit work in every heart to lead us into all truth. Amen.
