Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we are deeply moved by the humility and compassion in your heart as you intercede even for those who have opposed you.

Your prayer reflects the heart of God, who desires truth in the innermost being and who does not delight in outward religious performance but in a broken and contrite heart. As you quoted, Psalm 51:16-17 says For you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. We agree with you that only God can work on the heart to bring that brokenness and godly sorrow that leads to repentance.

You are right to pray that the truth shall set them free, for Jesus said in John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. And Jesus himself is that truth, for in John 14:6 Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Those who are bound by lies are blinded, as 2 Corinthians 4:4 tells us the god of this age has blinded the unbelieving mind, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ should not dawn on them. Therefore our battle is not against flesh and blood, but for souls to be delivered from darkness.

We also hear your discernment that education and position do not guarantee righteousness, for Romans 3:23 reminds us all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. And Romans 3:10 says There is no one righteous, no, not one. We cannot expect the educated to act righteously apart from the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, and we must guard our own hearts from boasting or looking down on others, just as you prayed.

We take comfort in the promise of Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. God himself promises to fill those who truly hunger for Him, and Ezekiel 36:26 promises I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. That is our hope for the team and the lawyers and legal representatives you mentioned.

Together we pray

Heavenly Father, we come to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank you that through His precious blood we have access to your throne of grace. Lord, we lift up that team and their lawyers and legal representatives before you. You know them by name and you see their hearts. We ask that you would remove the veil of deception and shine the light of Christ upon them. Give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that only you can satisfy. Create in them a broken and contrite heart that hates sin and turns from evil. Forgive their sins as they repent, for 1 John 1:9 promises If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Cover those who are yours, who are chosen and walking with Christ, with the blood of Jesus. Grant them peace that passes all understanding and wisdom and understanding that comes from your Holy Spirit. Teach all involved to be righteous and compassionate, to love mercy and to do justly and to walk humbly with you, as Micah 6:8 instructs. Stir their hearts to regard human life with dignity and to speak with honesty, for you delight in truth and you abhor lying lips.

We do not pray for vengeance, for Romans 12:19 tells us Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. We pray for salvation, for restoration, and for your will to be done. May your Holy Spirit continue to intercede for us and for them according to your perfect will. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our only way to you. Let your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer, for 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says Pray without ceasing, and James 5:16 reminds us The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. Keep hungering for righteousness yourself, and trust that God who began a good work will be faithful to complete it and to bring truth to light in His perfect timing.

We hear the weight you are carrying in this prayer, and your hunger for truth and righteousness to prevail is a good and right burden to bring to the Lord. It grieves you to see human life disregarded and honest communication set aside, especially by people you expected to act with integrity, and it makes sense that you would keep bringing them before God.

We join you in asking for that deeper work in the heart you described, not just a moment of feeling sorry when confronted, but a real turning that leads to different choices going forward. That kind of change is not something education or pressure can produce, it is the Spirit's work over time, and it helps to remember confession and repentance are often a process of recognizing, owning, and turning from what is wrong.

One thing that can help when you are interceding like this over many days is to give the prayer a sustainable place. You might set a brief, regular time to lift this team, their lawyers, and those who are seeking to follow Christ in that environment for protection, peace, and clarity, and then consciously entrust the outcome to God again so the burden does not settle into bitterness in your own heart.

Father, we lift this team and those around them to You in Jesus' name. Work in their hearts to love what is true and to do what is right, cover those who are Yours with Your peace, and keep this praying friend steady and hopeful as they trust Your will to be done. Amen.

It is a good and right thing that you have brought this burden to the throne of grace, and that you have asked not for vengeance but for mercy, not for the prosperity of sin but for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Your prayer is scriptural. You have well quoted that a broken and contrite heart God will not despise, and that the truth shall set men free. Yet we must remember that truth does not set free by mere knowledge, but by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, who is the Truth, and by that true repentance which is the gift of the Spirit of God.

There is a repentance which is poor and short lived, where men turn from sin for a time and then return to it with greater gusto. That is not the repentance which God accepts. True repentance gives glory to God. It confesses that God is omniscient and sees all, and it justifies His holy law, saying with the penitent, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. As the children's hymn so simply puts it, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more.

This is practical repentance, yielding works meet for repentance, and it lasts. It is not a sudden flush of feeling which passes away, but a complete change of mind with regard to sin, a hatred of sin itself because it offended a gracious God. And such repentance is inseparable from faith. No faith can be genuine but such as is consistent with hearty and sincere repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Him who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through His precious blood.

Therefore let us pray thus for these men and women, for the team and for their lawyers and representatives, as you have begun to do. Let us not boast before God, for we also have fallen short of His glory, and let us not despair of them, for the goodness of God is meant to lead sinners to repentance. He spares them, He gives them breath and time, not that they may continue in evil, but that they may turn to Him.

We will pray that the Lord in His mercy would break and bruise their hearts, not with a bitter and slavish fear, but with that sweet sorrow at the feet of Jesus which is sorrow for pardoned sin, and that He would grant them that godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of. May He teach them to hate the sin they once loved, to speak truthfully and to regard human life as made in His image, to do justly and to love mercy. May He give them that thirst for righteousness which only Christ can satisfy, and may He open their eyes to see that remission of sins is preached in Christ's name alone, and that there is pardon for crimes of deepest dye, pardon bought with Jesus blood, for all who truly repent and believe.

Let us continue to plead His blood over those who are His, that they may have peace and understanding, and let us plead with Him for those yet bound by Satan's lies, that they may be delivered. Look to Jesus, for repentance flows from the sight of Him who bled and died. May the Lord work this gracious work in them, and give Him all the glory.

We join you in praying, Heavenly Father, let Thy will be done, and let Thy Son be exalted, for Christ's sake. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in lifting this prayer before the Lord, and we thank you for bringing it with such humility and care.

Your longing is itself blessed. Christ said, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink, and He promised that blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. God does not draw us by force, but He calls those who are inflamed with desire for what is true and good, and He satisfies that desire when we come to Him. Your prayer that these men and women would receive an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is therefore according to His own heart.

We pray with you that the team you named, with their lawyers and representatives, would come to know the truth that sets free, which is Jesus Christ Himself. There is a righteousness that is only a figure, a matter of outward observance or legal knowledge, and there is a righteousness and holiness of truth that comes only through being made new in Christ. The first cannot save. The second is given when a person is born anew, forgiven, and made a partaker of the Holy Spirit. We ask the Father to lead them from the shadow to the reality, from mere knowledge of the law to the doing of righteousness that is rooted in Christ.

You prayed rightly from Psalm 51, that God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone but in a broken and contrite heart. We join you in asking that God would work in their hearts to bring that brokenness, not as a passing sorrow, but as true repentance that hates sin and turns from it. Tears alone are not repentance, but a heart that is pierced, that sees sin as God sees it, and that turns to the cross for mercy. There the blood of Christ covers those who believe, gives peace and understanding, and teaches us to be compassionate as He is compassionate.

We also pray that those who are already chosen in Christ among them would be guarded and given peace, and that they would put on righteousness as a breastplate, living a life of universal virtue that no temptation can easily pierce. Such a life is firm because it hungers not for gain or advantage, but for what is right before God, and it shows itself in honest speech, in regard for human life, and in mercy toward others.

You have done well not to boast and not to look down on those who fall short, for we all fall short of the glory of God. We too need the same mercy. So we continue to pray that the Holy Spirit, who intercedes for us, would stir these hearts, open their eyes to see their need, and draw them to drink deeply of the living water. May they come thirsting to Christ, taste the heavenly gift of forgiveness, receive His word with eagerness, and bear the fruit of righteousness in all their dealings.

We will keep this burden in prayer with you, asking that the Father’s will be done, that Christ be exalted, and that all who are thirsty would find in Him the fullness they seek. Amen.
