Disciple of Prayer
Prayer that God removes any left over homosexual feelings and any attraction to the same sex. I was never "homosexual" persay but before Jesus Christ came into my life I watched the pornography quite a bit and I really want a healthy relationship with a godly woman one day I know it may be a few years as the Lord has a lot to work on in my life I have wanted a girlfriend since I was ### I am now ### please pray for speedy deliverance.

We hear your heart’s cry and stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting up your desire to walk in purity and godly masculinity according to God’s design. Your honesty about past struggles with pornography and lingering attractions is courageous, and we want to affirm that the Lord is near to those who seek Him with a repentant heart. The fact that you long for a godly marriage, a covenant between one man and one woman, reveals the Holy Spirit’s work in aligning your desires with Scripture. We rejoice in your commitment to Christ and your willingness to surrender even the deepest areas of your heart to Him.

The Bible is clear that sexual immorality, including pornography and homosexual behavior, grieves the heart of God. In 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, we are warned: "Flee sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body." Your past exposure to pornography may have distorted your perceptions of intimacy, but we declare that the blood of Jesus has the power to cleanse and restore. You are not defined by your struggles, but by your identity in Christ, a beloved son of the Most High, called to holiness.

We also want to address the reality that same-sex attraction is not part of God’s original design for humanity. In Romans 1:26-27, Scripture describes such desires as a result of humanity’s rebellion against God: "That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other, and the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved." However, this passage is not meant to condemn you, but to point you to the hope of transformation through Christ. Your desire to be free from these attractions is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s conviction and your willingness to submit to God’s will.

We rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells you this struggle is permanent or that you are "wired" to desire what God forbids. The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Jesus from the dead, and broke the chains of sin on the cross is able to renew your mind and heart. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we read: "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." This is not just a future hope, it is a present reality. The Lord is already at work in you, and we declare that every ungodly attraction will lose its power as you fix your eyes on Jesus.

We also want to encourage you to take practical steps in your walk with the Lord. Flee temptation by cutting off access to pornography and any media that stirs impure thoughts. Fill your mind with Scripture, worship, and godly fellowship. In Philippians 4:8, we are instructed: "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things." Surround yourself with brothers in Christ who can pray for you, hold you accountable, and speak life into your journey. You are not meant to fight this battle alone.

As you wait for the Lord’s timing in marriage, we encourage you to pursue godly friendships with women without the pressure of romantic expectations. Let your interactions be marked by purity, respect, and a shared love for Christ. Proverbs 18:22 reminds us: "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh." Trust that the Lord has a godly woman prepared for you, and that He will bring her into your life at the perfect time. Until then, focus on becoming the man God has called you to be, a man of integrity, prayer, and devotion to His Word.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear brother who is seeking Your face and Your deliverance. Lord, we thank You for his salvation and for the work You have already begun in his life. We declare that he is a new creation in Christ, and we ask that You would complete the good work You have started in him. Father, we rebuke every spirit of perversion, lust, and confusion that has tried to take root in his heart. We break the power of pornography and every ungodly attraction in Jesus’ name. We declare that his mind, body, and spirit belong to You, and we ask that You would renew his thoughts and desires according to Your Word.

Lord, we ask that You would remove every remnant of same-sex attraction and replace it with a holy desire for the wife You have prepared for him. We pray that You would heal any wounds or insecurities that may have contributed to these struggles, and that You would fill him with Your love, peace, and confidence in his identity as Your son. Father, we ask that You would guard his eyes, his heart, and his mind from temptation. Strengthen him to flee from sin and to run toward righteousness. Surround him with godly men who can encourage him, pray for him, and walk alongside him in this journey.

We also pray for his future marriage, Lord. Prepare him to be a godly husband, one who loves his wife as Christ loves the church, who leads with humility, and who honors You in all things. We ask that You would bring the right woman into his life at the perfect time, a woman who loves You with all her heart and who will be a helper suitable for him. Until that day, Lord, fill him with patience, joy, and an unshakable trust in Your timing.

Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We declare that this brother is more than a conqueror through Christ who strengthens him. We speak freedom, healing, and transformation over his life. May he walk in the fullness of Your purpose, and may his testimony bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

We want to leave you with this encouragement from 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5: "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God." The Lord is faithful, and He will do it. Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary in doing good. Your breakthrough is coming!

We appreciate your honesty in sharing this, and we hear both parts of what you carried - the long hope for a godly marriage since you were young, and the sincere desire now to be made whole and pure before the Lord.

Wanting speedy deliverance while also sensing God may be doing a slower, deeper work in you is a hard tension to hold at ###. It makes sense you would feel eager and also patient at the same time. In our experience that slower work is often how lasting freedom comes. It is less like a single moment and more like learning to walk faithfully day by day, with Jesus shaping desires, habits, and your sense of who you are in Him.

You don't have to walk that road alone. If you don't already have it, one steady, practical help many men have found is a trusted accountability relationship - a pastor, counselor, or mature brother in your church you can be honest with regularly, and perhaps a small group for men seeking purity after pornography use. Having that kind of quiet, consistent support can make the daily choices less isolating.

We are praying for you and standing with you in this.

Father, we lift our brother to You. Thank You for drawing him to Jesus and for his desire for purity. We ask You to heal what still feels tangled, to quiet what torments him, and to strengthen him to walk in holiness. Give him wisdom, faithful friendships, and clear direction for the years ahead, and prepare him for the future You have for him. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we bring it before the Lord with thankfulness for your honesty and for the work of grace already begun in you. We rejoice that Jesus Christ has come into your life, for where He comes He brings deliverance, and we do not doubt that He who has delivered you from the guilt of sin is able also to deliver you from the power of sin.

We take comfort in this truth, that God has found a ransom. The Lord Jesus has shed His blood and has been lifted up, and there is in His cross a great attraction and a great power to draw the heart away from all that defiles and to draw it to Himself. It is not by our own strength that we are kept, for we can do nothing and we know it, but He brings forth His people with His own hand. He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and that same deliverance He will work in you as you look to Him alone for both justification and sanctification.

We will pray that the Lord will be pleased to grant you speedy deliverance, and that He will wash your mind and heart clean from all that remains of former habits and from the images and desires sown by pornography. We ask that He will remove every lingering attraction to the same sex and renew your mind by His Spirit and by His Word, that you may be made whole and pure, and that your affections may be ordered according to His good design. We pray that He will keep you in the hour of temptation, and that when old sins assault you on the way to heaven you may find that the clock of mercy has struck the hour of your deliverance.

We also thank God for the holy desire He has placed in you for a healthy relationship with a godly woman in the covenant of marriage as He ordained it, one man and one woman joined for life, with all intimacy kept within that covenant. This is a good desire. We will pray that the Lord will prepare you in these years for that calling, and prepare also, in His perfect timing, a godly wife for you if it be His will, and that He will teach you patience and contentment while He works on in your life.

Take this as a word of exhortation. Will you always call upon God. Let not your religion be a thing of novelty that fades, but continue in prayer, in the Word, in the fellowship of the saints, and in fleeing from every occasion to sin. Trust not in your own resolutions, but in the risen Christ who lives to plead for you, to whom all power is given in heaven and in earth, and who causes all things to work together for your good. Confess your weakness to Him daily, look to His finished work, and declare the works of the Lord who has brought you out.

We pray now for you. O Lord our God, who has found a ransom and who delivers from going down to the pit, deliver this Your servant. Wash him, cleanse his thoughts, set his affections on Christ, and make him pure in heart. Keep him close to the cross, give him strength to walk in holiness, grant him speedy and abiding deliverance, and in Your time grant him, if it please You, a godly marriage to Your glory. Teach him to trust Your timing and to have confidence in Your faithful promises. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest and humble request has been heard, and we thank you for bringing it before the Lord and before the church with such openness. To desire purity, to turn away from what defiles the soul, and to long for a healthy marriage as God ordained it is a good and godly desire, and God is pleased when His children seek Him for cleansing and renewal.

We rejoice that Jesus Christ has come into your life, for He alone saves and makes all things new. The feelings you describe and the struggle that came through giving yourself to pornography are not beyond His power to heal. That habit, like the spectacles and stages of old, feeds lust and corrupts the mind, making the heart restless and drawing it away from what is pure. Scripture teaches that God made marriage from the beginning to be the union of one man and one woman, two becoming one flesh for life, and that all sexual life belongs within that covenant. Outside of it, whether in lust of the eyes or in acts contrary to nature, the soul is led into confusion. But where sin once abounded, grace can much more abound to wash, to sanctify, and to restore.

We will pray with you for deliverance, for the renewing of your mind, and for strength to walk in holiness. We pray not only for a quick relief, but for a deep and lasting work, that whatever remains of that old attraction would be removed and that your heart would be made whole and fixed on Christ.

Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your mercy through Jesus Christ Your Son, by whom we have forgiveness and new life. We ask You to cleanse our brother completely, to wash his mind and heart, to remove every lingering desire that is not according to Your holy will, and to free him from the memory and power of pornography. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, give him strength to flee from temptation, to guard his eyes and his heart, and to walk in reverence and godly fear. Grant him patience and hope as You continue Your work in him, and in Your perfect time, if it is Your will, provide for him a godly wife that they may enter into marriage according to Your design, in purity and faithfulness. Keep him close to You, rooted in Your Word and in the fellowship of Your people, that he may not be isolated but upheld by brothers who love him. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Continue steadfastly in the assembling together with other believers, in prayer, and in the reading of Scripture, for there we are kept and strengthened. Turn decisively from every source of temptation, put away what stirs lust, and invite trusted and mature believers to walk with you and hold you accountable. Do not be discouraged if the deliverance is not all in a moment, for God often works both suddenly and gradually to make us holy. He who has begun a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. Trust His timing, seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and rest in the certainty that He hears the prayer of a contrite heart and is able to present you pure and blameless before Him.
