Lord, please guide ### to move near me if it is Your will, and lead us toward marriage with love, faith, and commitment. Protect me from anyone with bad intentions, and keep all harmful people and influences far from me. Amen.

We hear your heart’s longing for a godly marriage and a spouse who will walk with you in love, faith, and commitment. Your desire to seek the Lord’s will in this matter is commendable, and we join you in praying for His perfect guidance. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." This is a beautiful foundation for any relationship, surrendering your plans to God and allowing Him to direct your steps.

However, we must gently address a concern in your prayer. You mention moving someone near you and leading toward marriage, but there is no mention of Jesus Christ, who is the cornerstone of any godly relationship. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and any relationship built without Christ at the center will struggle to stand firm. We encourage you to seek a spouse who shares your faith in Jesus, as 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" Marriage is a sacred covenant, and it must be entered into with two believers who are committed to honoring God together.

We also want to emphasize the importance of purity in your pursuit of marriage. If you are currently in a relationship that involves physical intimacy outside of marriage, we must rebuke that in the name of Jesus. The Bible is clear in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." If this applies to you, we urge you to repent and seek the Lord’s forgiveness, asking Him to restore purity to your life and relationship.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear one who desires a godly marriage. Lord, we ask that You would guide their steps and lead them to a spouse who loves You above all else. Protect them from those with impure intentions and surround them with Your hedge of safety. Father, if there is any unconfessed sin in their life, reveal it to them and grant them the strength to turn away from it. May their heart be fully surrendered to You, and may their future marriage bring glory to Your name. We pray that they would seek You first in all things, trusting in Your perfect timing. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word as you wait for His will to unfold. Psalm 37:4-5 reminds us, "Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this." Keep your heart open to His leading, and He will direct you to the spouse He has prepared for you. If you are not yet in a courtship, ask the Lord to prepare your heart and the heart of your future spouse, that you may both enter into marriage with purity, faith, and a deep love for Him.

It’s clear you’re bringing your desire for marriage to the Lord with an open heart, and we are joining you in prayer for His guidance and protection. Wanting a future spouse to be near you is a natural longing, but seeking God’s will in the timing and the details is exactly the right place to be.

When we pray for specific outcomes, it can be tempting to look for a sign or a strong feeling to confirm God’s direction. The journey toward clarity in a relationship is often less about a single inner prompting and more about seeing God’s fingerprints over time, through the counsel of wise believers, the way circumstances unfold, and a growing sense of peace that comes as we hold our plans loosely before Him. It might help to invite a mature Christian friend or a pastor you trust into this conversation, someone who can pray with you and offer an outside perspective you can’t give yourself. That kind of grounded support helps us separate what we want badly from what God is actually doing, and it keeps us from loneliness in the waiting.

We also thank God with you for your request to be kept from anyone with bad intentions. Asking for protection is wise, not fearful. He sees the dangers we don’t, and He cares deeply that you are safe. We pray that He will place a hedge around you and give you a quiet discernment that recognizes trouble before it gets close.

Let’s pray.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this sister who desires to honor You in her relationships. Guide the man she is praying about according to Your perfect will, whether that means nearness or another path. Give her patience to wait on You, clarity in her decisions, and genuine peace while she does. Protect her from anyone who would bring harm, and surround her with Your strong love. In Your name we pray, amen.

Consider the weight of your petition before the throne of grace. You ask for guidance in a matter that touches the deepest affections of the heart, and I would not dismiss such a cry as trifling. Yet, let us bring these longings into the light of God’s Word, for true prayer must bow beneath the scepter of His will. You pray for one to move near you and for a path toward holy matrimony. But have you first sought to be guided yourself, with childlike trust, into every step that pleases Him? There are great principles infused into every soul who takes God for his guide, first among them, avoid everything that is evil. Test every impulse by that rule. Is this affection pure, free from the world’s taint, and cemented by a mutual love that mirrors Christ’s own for His church? Marriage is no mere contract of convenience; it is a blessed choice on both sides, a union where two become one, and it must be entered with faith, not human haste.

Beware of that hastiness which authors much mischief in human life. You long for nearness, for a swift resolution, yet the Good Shepherd leads His sheep, He does not drive them. His wisdom is their guidance, His love their shield. If this bond is indeed of God, it will not wither in the waiting, nor will it demand shortcuts that wander from the King’s highway. You pray for protection from harmful persons and influences. That is a right and scriptural petition, for He has charged His angels concerning those who walk in His appointed ways. But mark this: he who travels on the King’s highway is under the King’s protection; he who takes to byroads must protect himself, and the probability is that he will meet with robbers. Therefore, let no desire for a certain dwelling place or a hasty union make you turn to the left or to the right. If you would know angelic keeping, yield yourself with complete submission to the will of God. That very act furnishes unerring guidance.

Set your affection not first on an earthly marriage, but on the marriage of the Lamb. Are you betrothed to Christ today by inseparable bonds? For only those who are called to that heavenly feast will truly know how to love a spouse without idolatry. A soul betrothed to the Savior need not fret that its lesser hopes will go unmet, for He who spared not His own life for His flock will certainly grant what is best. Perhaps the one you name is indeed part of His good purpose for you; perhaps not. Either way, the answer lies in bowing before His wisdom, not in bending Providence to your own longing. Keep harmful influences at bay by walking in the way of childlike trust, asking the Lord always to guide you and daring not to lean upon your own understanding. If this affection can stand in the white light of His holiness, commit it to Him to order and establish in His own time. The sure result of such guidance is that afterward He shall receive you to glory, and every lesser gift will be added as He sees fit. Until then, be more concerned with the purity of your own walk than with the relocation of another. Happy are all those who, with all their weaknesses, have divine strength for their protection, and that includes protection from a deceived heart.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
