Relationship

Beloved of All
If me and this man are meant to be then for God to open all the doors and make it obvious. His will be done. No confusion and if no for us both to handle ot gracefully. Pray in Jesus name amen.

We hear your heart’s desire for clarity and peace in this relationship, and we join you in seeking God’s perfect will. The longing for confirmation and the wisdom to accept His answer with grace is a beautiful posture of faith. Let us first affirm that relationships are a sacred trust from the Lord, and His Word provides clear guidance on how we are to approach them.

Scripture tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). This is a powerful promise, when we surrender our desires to Him, He will direct our steps. However, we must also remember that God’s will is not just about open doors but about holiness, purity, and alignment with His Word. If this man is not a believer in Jesus Christ, we must pause and examine whether this relationship honors God. The Apostle Paul warns, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). Marriage is a covenant before God, and it is meant to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If he does not share your faith, this is not a small matter, it is a foundational issue that will impact every area of your life together.

We also want to gently address the importance of purity in your relationship. If you are currently in a courtship or dating relationship, are you both honoring God with your bodies? Scripture is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If there has been any sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. True love waits and honors God’s design for intimacy within the bounds of marriage.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will in this relationship. Lord, we ask that You would make Your path clear, whether this man is the one You have ordained for her or if You have another plan. Remove all confusion, doubt, and fear, and replace them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. If this relationship is not of You, give both of them the strength and grace to walk away with dignity and trust in Your goodness. If it is Your will, open the doors in ways that are unmistakable, and prepare their hearts to honor You in every step.

Father, we also ask that You would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. If there has been any sin in this relationship, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Help them to walk in purity, honoring You with their bodies and their commitment to one another. Lord, if this man is not a believer, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself. Do not let this relationship become a stumbling block to either of their walks with You.

We surrender this situation into Your hands, trusting that Your plans are perfect. Give them the faith to wait on You and the courage to follow Your leading, even when it is difficult. May Your name be glorified in every decision they make. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in prayer and fasting, seeking the Lord’s face. Ask Him to reveal any areas where you may be leaning on your own understanding rather than His wisdom. Surround yourself with godly counsel, mature believers who can speak truth into your life and hold you accountable. Remember, God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). Whether this relationship is part of His plan or not, He has a purpose for your life, and it is good.

If you are not already doing so, we urge you to seek a spouse who shares your faith and your commitment to Christ. Marriage is a beautiful reflection of the Gospel, and it is worth waiting for a partner who will walk with you in righteousness. Keep your heart open to the Lord’s leading, and trust that He will guide you every step of the way. "Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4). This promise is not about getting what we want but about our desires aligning with His will. As you delight in Him, He will shape your heart to want what He wants for you.

We join you in this, asking the Lord to bring real clarity and peace. It can be so unsettling when we care about someone and genuinely want to honor God, yet the way forward feels foggy. Your prayer, that God would either open doors wide or give you both the grace to handle a no with dignity, shows a heart that’s already leaning into trust, not striving.

One thing we’ve seen help in moments like this is simply to quiet the noise and ask God to search your own heart first. Not to overanalyze the man, but to sit with the question, “What do I actually fear here?” Sometimes the desperation for a sign is really a fear of stepping wrong. And that fear can cloud the very peace you’re seeking. So a concrete step we’d gently suggest: this week, set aside a little unhurried time, maybe a walk or a quiet spot, and ask God to deepen your own calm. Clarity about the relationship often grows out of a deeper inner steadiness, not frantic looking around.

We also think it’s wise to involve a trusted, mature Christian in your life, someone who knows you well and can see things you might miss. Not to make the decision for you, but to help you notice whether this connection is bringing out the fruit of the Spirit in both of you, or whether something feels unsettled. Pay attention to the everyday fruit, not just the big signs. God’s guidance often comes through the slow, steady alignment of circumstances, wise counsel, and a growing sense of peace.

As we pray, we’re grateful you’re holding this with open hands.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to give our friend a clear, quiet knowing. Remove confusion and make the next step plain, whether together or apart. Grant wisdom and guard both hearts from unnecessary hurt. Whatever the answer, let it draw each of them closer to You. Amen.

The peril lies in seeking a sign when the revealed will of God is already before you. There are those who flip open the Scripture and light upon a text as if it were a fortune-teller's charm. Beware lest you find "He went and hanged himself" and then stumble upon "Go, and do thou likewise." That is no guidance, but a snare of your own making. The Lord does not deal with His children as with heathen who cast lots and search for omens gleaned by chance. You have asked that God make it obvious. Yet I must press this upon you: the clarity you seek often waits upon submission, not upon sight.

Bowing with submission to the will of God, by that very fact we are furnished with unerring guidance. As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, as certainly as His will is the great heart of providence sending its pulsings even through the most distant limbs of human act, so in grace let us rest assured that He is King. The question is not whether you can perceive every door swinging open before you step toward it. The question is whether your heart has yielded up its own desperate insistence. Young men have resolved that they will do so and so if they die for it. Yes, but the grace of God dethrones obstinacy and gives us, in its place, acquiescence in the divine will. That is where the confusion melts away. Not because all the map of your future is unrolled at your feet, but because you have entrusted the map to the One who drew it. I will no longer be a debater, but Thou shalt guide me.

All things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan. There is a providential will which we should always consult, and with this guidance believers are familiar. But remember this: the revealed will of God must never be violated. Is this man a believer? Does this companionship draw you nearer to Christ, or does it dull the edge of your spiritual life? There is never an hour when God cannot be seen, never a moment when His door will not open to any who come to ask advice of Him, yet what need is there for a supernatural lightning flash when the steady lamp of His Word already shines upon the path? You say, "If we are meant to be." That "if" must bow before a greater "if" which you have rightly spoken: "If the Lord wills." We will go, or we will stay, if it is the will of God.

And what if the answer tarries? What if the obvious sign you crave does not come? It is there that grace must reign. Storms are the triumph of His art, and grace can steer the ship the better for tempestuous waves. When the water is very deep, He will put His hand beneath your chin, so that you shall not lose your breath. Do not mistake a delay for a denial. God’s promise may tarry, but it never fails. Meanwhile, consider this: the Lord desires you to open your mouth wide and He will fill it. It is easier for Him to give than for you to open your mouth. He encourages and requests you to bring large petitions with you when you come before His mercy seat. But let that large petition be for more of Himself. Oh, yes, if you live near God, He will say things to you that He will not tell anybody else.

You have spoken a good word: "His will be done... If no, for us both to handle it gracefully." That is the very spirit of grace, the grace that finds us polluted and obnoxious in God's sight, yet makes us accepted in the Beloved. It is not your capacity to handle disappointment gracefully that you must trust. Your capacity will fail long before the provision. All the mercy you have you once refused. If left to ourselves, we would laugh at the message and despise it. But sovereign grace comes in, making us willing in the day of His power. When you have once rightly uttered this blessed sentence, "Thou art my God," what more does a man need? What more can a man desire? The relationship may be granted or it may be withheld, but the God of the relationship is your portion forever. He will come to your deliverance in the time of trouble.

So go now. Do not sit down to fret because the heavens are silent. Think of His wonders of grace and be no more discouraged. Meditate also of all His work, and talk of His doings. Look to Christ, for all along, from sin's pit to heaven's gate, without a break the whole road is paved with divine grace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for clear signs, for doors flung wide, so that God’s will might be unmistakable. This desire for certainty is natural, yet the soul’s true posture before heaven is not charting portents but cultivating humility. Humility is the head of all virtue, the golden altar that bears a sacrifice pleasing to God. A contrite heart, not a map of open doors, is where the Lord draws near. If you seek first that lowly spirit, you will neither outrun His guidance nor mistake your own longing for His voice.

Consider how God’s doing often startles our expectations. The stone the builders rejected became the cornerstone: what seems a closed door or a silent sky may yet be His hidden work. Do not pin your peace on a relationship, as if your salvation rested in human ties. As I have said, what hindered many from coming to Christ was trusting in fleshly connection rather than in the will of God. So here, cling to Him more than to any outcome. Ask Him to make you grateful not only for your own blessings but for whatever He grants another, even if that means this man’s path diverges from yours. Thanksgiving for others’ goods is a sure cure for envy and a rivet for charity.

Charity itself must not be choosy, doling out kindness only to the obviously worthy. If you beg God for a sign, be ready to extend that same mercy to this man whether the answer is yes or no. Love that waits with conditions is no love. And remember, we need both our own part and God’s part: pray without ceasing, but also live in such obedience that even in uncertainty you remain fastened to Christ. Then, if the doors do not swing wide, you will handle it gracefully not by your own strength but by the grace that freed you from far greater bonds. His will is your salvation and your sanctification; let that be the one thing unmistakable, and the rest will fall into place, or fall away, in peace.

You have already prayed the prayer that matters most. You asked not for a certain outcome at any cost, but for His will to be done and for Him to make it obvious. That is what prayer is for: His will on earth as it is in heaven. And because you come in Jesus' name, you are not calling out from a distance. Prayer begins with relationship, and the Father's ear is open to His children.

Here is what I would encourage you to do with the doors. The Lord is the one who opens and no one can shut, and He shuts and no one can open. Do not try to force a door open or break it down. A closed door is not always rejection of you; it is often simply direction. I have learned to accept closed doors as well as open ones, because that takes the pressure off. If this relationship is His will, He will open the way and make it plain. If it is not, He will close it in a way that both of you can handle with grace.

Confusion usually comes when we are trying to push a door God has closed, or when we are listening more to our own urgency than to His peace. Ask Him for a white stone, the clear sign of acceptance, and trust Him to withhold what would harm you. Let His word and His peace be the witness. And let the standard be settled in your heart: if the Lord is leading you toward this man, the goal is not a vague romantic tie but a covenant of marriage, one man and one woman for life. That will simplify what you are asking.

Let me pray with you. Father, you know every detail of this relationship. If it is your will, open the doors and make the path unmistakable. If it is not, close the doors without confusion and give both of them grace to accept your answer. Keep their hearts yielded to you, and let your will be done in them. In Jesus' name, amen.
