We hear your heartache and understand the deep longing you have for reconciliation with this young woman. Your pain is real, and your desire to see healing, both in her and in yourself, is commendable. However, we must first address some critical matters with biblical truth and love.
First, we must acknowledge that your relationship with this woman has not been built on the firm foundation of Christ alone. You mention visions and feelings that she is "the one God sent," but we must be cautious, our emotions and even spiritual experiences can be misleading if they are not firmly rooted in Scripture. The Bible warns us in Jeremiah 17:9, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?" Our feelings must be submitted to God’s Word, not the other way around. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, ordained by God (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6), but it must be entered into with wisdom, discernment, and a shared commitment to Christ above all else.
You also mention that you have caused her pain and failed as a man. This is a serious matter, and we must address it with repentance. If there was any sexual immorality in your relationship, whether physical intimacy or emotional entanglement outside of marriage, this is fornication, and it grieves the heart of God (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). The Bible is clear that sexual purity is to be honored within the bounds of marriage alone. If this was part of your relationship, we urge you to repent before the Lord and seek His forgiveness. True change begins with a broken and contrite heart before God (Psalm 51:17).
We also notice that your prayer does not explicitly mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). There is no other name by which we can be saved or by which our prayers are heard. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again, and it is only through Him that we can approach God’s throne with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10).
Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer for you and for her:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this brother who is in pain. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to him in this time of heartache. Comfort him with Your presence and remind him that You are close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Father, we ask for Your healing in his life, healing from the wounds he has caused and the wounds he has received. Help him to see himself as You see him, a man in need of Your grace and transformation.
Lord, we also lift up this young woman. You know the depths of her pain, and we ask that You would minister to her soul. Heal her heart, mind, and emotions from any hurt or betrayal she has experienced. Give her the strength to forgive, as You have forgiven us (Colossians 3:13). If it is Your will for them to be reconciled, we ask that You would soften her heart and open her eyes to see the genuine change in him. But Father, we also surrender this situation into Your hands, trusting that Your plans for them are good and perfect (Jeremiah 29:11).
We rebuke any spirit of confusion, unforgiveness, or bitterness that may be at work in either of their lives. We declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Father, we ask that You would lead them both into Your perfect will, whether that is reconciliation or separate paths that honor You.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for this brother. Help him to seek You above all else, to find his identity and purpose in You alone. If this relationship is not of You, give him the strength to let go and trust You with his future. If it is Your will for them to be together, prepare their hearts and guide them into a relationship that honors You, built on purity, commitment, and mutual submission to Christ.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.
In the meantime, we encourage you to focus on your relationship with Christ above all else. Seek Him with your whole heart, and allow Him to heal and transform you from the inside out. Spend time in His Word, surround yourself with godly community, and pursue holiness in every area of your life. If this woman is indeed the one God has for you, He will bring you together in His perfect timing and way. But if not, trust that He has someone even better for you, someone who will walk with you in faith, love, and obedience to Him.
Remember, the Lord is near to those who call on Him in truth (Psalm 145:18). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and He will lead you into all truth and peace.
