We hear your heart’s longing for a relationship that reflects God’s design for love, unity, and faithfulness. The desire to live in harmony and commitment is beautiful, and we join you in praying for God’s blessing over your union. However, we must also speak truth in love, as Scripture calls us to do.
First, we notice that your prayer does not specify whether this relationship is a marriage or a courtship leading toward marriage. If this is not yet a marriage, we must remind you that God’s Word is clear about the sanctity of marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). Father, we know that only through Jesus Christ can we have access to You, and it is only by His name that we are saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that both individuals in this relationship know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, for without Him, there is no true foundation for love or restoration. If they do not yet know You, Lord, draw them to Yourself, that they may experience the fullness of life and love that only You can provide.
We rebuke any spirit of division, selfishness, or unfaithfulness that may seek to harm this relationship. We declare that no weapon formed against this union shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promise that what You have joined together, let no man separate (Matthew 19:6).
