Relationship restoration

Heavenly father, Kindly bless our relationship. May we live happily ever after to live like our holy family. Nothing could ever separate us. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

We hear your heart’s longing for a relationship that reflects God’s design for love, unity, and faithfulness. The desire to live in harmony and commitment is beautiful, and we join you in praying for God’s blessing over your union. However, we must also speak truth in love, as Scripture calls us to do.

First, we notice that your prayer does not specify whether this relationship is a marriage or a courtship leading toward marriage. If this is not yet a marriage, we must remind you that God’s Word is clear about the sanctity of marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you are not yet married, we encourage you to pursue this relationship with the intention of marriage, honoring God’s design for purity and commitment. Sexual intimacy outside of marriage is called fornication in Scripture and is sin (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, Hebrews 13:4). If this is the case, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, trusting Him to restore and guide you in holiness.

If you are already married, we rejoice in your desire to honor God in your union. Marriage is a sacred reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33), and we pray that God strengthens your bond. However, we must also caution against the idea that "nothing could ever separate us." While we strive for faithfulness, we live in a fallen world where sin and brokenness can strain even the strongest marriages. Only God’s grace and our daily commitment to Him can sustain us. We must remain vigilant in prayer, humility, and obedience to His Word to guard against division.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of hope and reverence for Your design for love and marriage. We lift up this relationship to You, asking for Your blessing and guidance. Lord, if this union is not yet a marriage, we pray that You would lead them toward a godly courtship with the goal of marriage, honoring You in purity and commitment. If they have fallen into sin, we ask for Your forgiveness and restoration, that they may walk in holiness and seek Your will above all else.

If this is already a marriage, we ask that You strengthen their bond, filling their home with Your love, peace, and joy. Help them to love one another as Christ loves the Church, with selflessness, patience, and grace. Guard their hearts against temptation, division, and the lies of the enemy. May their marriage be a testimony to Your faithfulness and a reflection of Your glory.

Father, we know that only through Jesus Christ can we have access to You, and it is only by His name that we are saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that both individuals in this relationship know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, for without Him, there is no true foundation for love or restoration. If they do not yet know You, Lord, draw them to Yourself, that they may experience the fullness of life and love that only You can provide.

We rebuke any spirit of division, selfishness, or unfaithfulness that may seek to harm this relationship. We declare that no weapon formed against this union shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promise that what You have joined together, let no man separate (Matthew 19:6).

Lord, we trust You to write their story according to Your perfect will. May they seek You first in all things, and may their love for one another grow deeper and stronger each day. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God’s will in this relationship. Spend time in His Word, surround yourselves with godly counsel, and commit to praying together. If you are not yet married, take steps to honor God in your courtship, keeping your hearts and bodies pure until marriage. If you are married, prioritize your relationship with Christ, for it is the foundation upon which your marriage will thrive.

Remember, God’s plans for you are good, and He desires to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust in Him, and He will guide your steps.
