God is a God of righteousness and justice, and He wants what is right and fair to prevail. His word calls us to keep judgment and do justice, to live honestly and not to cheat or take advantage of one another. A person who acts fairly and honestly in business is blessed by God, because that reflects His own character. It is right for you to desire that the dealership act honestly and do the right thing and return what is owed to you. We can pray that those responsible will choose to do what is just and fair.
At the same time Scripture is honest that in this world justice can often seem far off. Truth can seem fallen in the street and fairness hard to find, even where fairness should be most certain, like in the courts and in business dealings. Many have learned that you cannot always be assured of justice through human systems alone. That can leave you feeling as if you are groping in darkness, waiting for light. God sees that. He sees when people trust in emptiness and when wrong is done, and He cares. He often takes up the cause of those who are pressed upon and in need, and He calls those in authority to deliver the afflicted and to do justice.
Justice in its simplest sense is receiving what is due. Mercy is not receiving the penalty we do deserve, and we all need mercy before God. But God is not against you waiting to strike you. If God is for us, who can be against us. He is for you in this financial pressure. Even when there are real financial struggles and needs, He is able to sustain you and give you peace and even joy as you trust Him, and He is able to provide for your needs while you wait.
I encourage you to continue to pursue what is right in a calm and orderly way. Keep a clear record of what was promised and paid, seek wise counsel if needed, and use the proper and lawful steps available to you to ask for the return of your money. Do so with a spirit of honesty and patience, trusting God to work even when the process feels slow.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this financial need before You. You see this situation with the dealership and You know what is fair and right. We ask that You would move on the hearts of those responsible to do justice and to return what is owed without delay or deceit. We ask for wisdom and favor in every conversation and every step that must be taken, and for provision and peace in the meantime.
