Reconciliation

Dhitlor

Beloved Servant
Please pray as I am in the process of trying to reconcile with people I have not spoken to in years. A lot of very negative things have happened between us (most occurring due to spiritual warfare). Pray for peace and healing and salvation for those who need it. Thank you.

We join with you in prayer as you step out in obedience to seek reconciliation after these years of separation and hurt, and we thank you for trusting us with this burden.

We hear your heart for peace and healing and we commend your desire to make things right. Scripture teaches us that reconciliation is at the very heart of God, for we are told that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation in 2 Corinthians 5:19. We are also called to do our part as far as it depends on us, to live peaceably with all men as Romans 12:18 says, and to seek to be peacemakers for blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God in Matthew 5:9. This means coming with humility, seeking forgiveness where we have sinned and extending forgiveness where we have been sinned against, for if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you in Matthew 6:14, and bearing with one another and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do in Colossians 3:13.

You rightly discern that spiritual warfare has been at work, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places in Ephesians 6:12. The enemy seeks to steal, kill and destroy relationships through bitterness, pride, and unforgiveness. Yet we must also honestly examine our own hearts and take responsibility for our part in the brokenness, confessing our sins, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. True healing comes not by blaming only spiritual forces but by repentance, forgiveness, and walking in truth and love.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved in Romans 10:9. It is through His blood that we have peace and healing.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one to You and ask for Your wisdom, courage and humility as they pursue reconciliation. Lord, search every heart involved and bring conviction where there is sin, comfort where there is pain, and softening where there is hardness. We ask that You would tear down every stronghold of the enemy that has kept division and bitterness alive, and that You would replace it with Your peace which surpasses all understanding which will guard hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:7. Grant healing to the wounds of the past, and help each person to forgive as You have forgiven us. We pray for salvation for those among this group who do not yet know You, that You would draw them to Yourself, open their eyes to the truth of the gospel, and bring them from darkness into Your marvelous light. Let this reconciliation, as far as it depends on all involved, bring glory to You and be a testimony of Your redeeming power. Guide every conversation, let words be spoken in love and truth, and let Your will be done. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bathe this process in prayer, to put on the whole armor of God daily in Ephesians 6:11, to speak the truth in love in Ephesians 4:15, and to trust the Lord with the outcome even if others are not yet ready to reconcile. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think in Ephesians 3:20, and we trust Him to bring the peace and healing you seek in His perfect timing.

We are thankful you shared this desire to pursue reconciliation after years of silence. Wanting peace and healing after a lot of hurt takes courage, and we are honored to pray with you for this.

One insight that often helps in this kind of journey is that forgiveness and reconciliation are related but not the same. You can make a quiet, personal decision to release resentment and to desire good for someone, even while rebuilding trust together is a slower process that requires willingness on both sides. Keeping that distinction in mind can take some pressure off and help you approach each conversation with more patience for yourself and for them.

As you move forward, it may help to go slowly and prayerfully, one relationship at a time. Before reaching out, spend time praying for that person and for wisdom about timing and words, and consider talking through what you hope to say with a trusted pastor or mature believer who knows your story. A brief, humble message that simply expresses care, owns your part, and leaves room for their response often opens the door more gently than trying to address everything at once.

We are praying for peace in these relationships, for healing where there has been pain, and for each person involved to be drawn closer to the Lord.

Father, we lift this dear one and each person they hope to reconnect with to You. Bring Your peace where there has been hurt, bring healing where there has been brokenness, and draw each heart toward Your grace and truth. Give wisdom, humility and right timing in every step, and let Your will be done in each relationship. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your desire for reconciliation is heard, and it is a gracious desire, for our God is a God of reconciliation and peace. We will pray with you and for you, that the Lord who alone can soften hearts and heal breaches will work in you and in those from whom you have been long separated.

First, let us remember where all true reconciliation must begin. There is forgiveness with God, and that forgiveness is only through Jesus Christ His Son. Whatever very negative things have happened, and whatever share of sin and sorrow has been on either side, the word stands sure, There is forgiveness with Thee, that Thou mayest be feared. It is a divine forgiveness, surprising and complete, purchased by the blood of Christ, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. Before we can rightly seek peace with others, we must know ourselves forgiven, and rest by faith upon that finished work. Believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, as you believe the Creed, and go your way in peace, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

From that forgiveness flows our calling to forgive one another. He not only forgave us at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive, and He teaches us that ours is to be a joint work of mutual forgiveness. Forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. This does not mean that all wounds are lightly passed over, but that where the Lord has shown us such manifest forgiveness, for us to forgive should become as natural as to open our hands. Pray that the Lord will give you a humble and tender heart, willing to confess where you have erred, willing to release debts where you have been wronged, and willing to leave the outcome in His hands.

You ask for peace, and we pray that you may know that perfect peace which the prophet describes, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. It is written, The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. This peace is not the absence of difficulty, but a present possession even when duties press and sorrows surge around. As you seek to do the will of Jesus in this matter, rest will come. Keep your mind stayed upon Him, trust Him with those loved ones far away and with every conversation yet to come, and He will keep you.

You ask also for healing. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and even His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. All our nations and all our hearts need healing, and there is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. We pray that He will heal what has been broken in these relationships so far as it depends upon you and is according to His wisdom, and that He will heal your own soul from bitterness or fear.

You rightly discern that we wrestle not only against flesh and blood. Yet the way of victory is still the way of the cross, through humbling, through confession, through faith in Christ. We will pray that where salvation is yet needed, the Lord will grant repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we must be saved.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, with whom there is forgiveness, we thank Thee for the blood of Jesus Christ which whispers peace within. Grant to this dear soul a fresh assurance of pardon through faith in Thy Son, and that peace of God which passeth all understanding to guard heart and mind. Give wisdom and meekness in every approach to those estranged, words seasoned with grace, and a spirit ready to forgive even as Thou hast forgiven. Where sin has wounded, bring healing by the leaves of the tree of life. Where hearts are yet unrenewed, grant salvation by Thy sovereign mercy, that they may be reconciled first to Thee. Keep all in perfect peace whose minds are stayed on Thee, and in Thy time and in Thy way work that reconciliation which will most glorify Thy name. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We are grateful you shared this burden and we join you in prayer for this desire for reconciliation.

It is good to seek peace and healing where there has been division and hurt. Scripture teaches that true peace and true reconciliation come through Jesus Christ alone, who made peace through the blood of His cross. He reconciled us to God when we were at enmity with Him, not by words only but by giving Himself for us, so that the war is ended and we can have peace with God. That same reconciliation is the foundation for any lasting peace with one another.

We pray that God will work in you and in those you have been estranged from, bringing healing where there has been pain and softening hearts where there has been hardness. We ask Him to guard you from the schemes of the enemy who seeks to stir up strife and division, and to fill you with wisdom, humility, and grace as you take steps toward reconciliation. Where conversation is possible, may it be marked by honesty, forgiveness, and love. Where it is not yet possible, may the Lord give you patience and peace as you entrust these relationships to Him.

We also pray as you asked for salvation for those who need it, that any who do not yet know Christ would come to know that salvation is through Jesus alone, and that they would turn to Him in faith. For those who do know Him, we pray they would walk in the peace He has given, remembering that peacemakers are blessed and called sons of God, and that peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy in the church and in the home.

We know that even as we seek peace, not every effort results in restored relationship in this life, for Christ Himself taught that faithfulness to Him can bring division. Yet we are called to pursue peace as far as it depends on us, and to rest in the peace Christ gives which remains even when circumstances are difficult.

We pray that the Lord will give you His peace that guards your heart and mind, that He will bring healing according to His will, and that He will be glorified in how you love and forgive as you have been forgiven in Christ.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart and your desire for reconciliation. It is a good and right desire to seek peace and healing where there has been hurt and separation, and to pray for salvation for those who do not yet know the Lord.

The first place peace begins is with God. Scripture says He offers peace to those who are near and to those who are far off, and He will heal them. Jesus Himself is our peace, the One who has broken down the walls that separate us from God and from each other. When we make peace with God through the forgiveness of sins in Jesus Christ, the war within our own hearts can end and we can know a deep peace that guards our minds and souls. Without that peace with God there is no lasting peace, the heart remains like a troubled sea, but when we turn to Christ and receive His forgiveness, He brings restoration and quietness within.

That forgiveness is also to be our example. We are called to follow God in the way He has forgiven us. That means not only asking for forgiveness but also extending it, forgiving others as we have been forgiven. This is one of the keys to wholeness in our relationships and in our own hearts. It does not mean that all wounds disappear instantly, but it means we sow peace rather than strife. The wisdom that comes from above is peaceable, and those who sow in peace will reap a harvest of righteousness. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they reflect the character of God.

It helps to remember that the vertical relationship must be right before the horizontal relationships can be healthy. When God is at the center of your life, the other relationships begin to find their proper balance. Your feet can be grounded in the gospel of peace, which is God's desire for you, to live at peace with Him and, as far as it depends on you, at peace with others.

You mentioned that much of the hurt has come through spiritual opposition. The Lord does provide both forgiveness and power to separate sin from us and to overcome evil, and He watches over His people with providential care even when circumstances seem dark. At the same time, peace and healing in relationships take time and truth. Speak truth in love, walk in truth, and let grace and mercy shape your words and actions as you reach out.

Healing is something we can bring to God in prayer with confidence, knowing He is the healer of hearts and lives. Sometimes His healing is immediate and complete, and sometimes He works through a longer process for purposes we do not fully understand, but His will is always to bring spiritual wholeness and peace to those who come to Him. We can trust Him with the outcome while we remain faithful to do what is right.

I will pray for you in this process.

Father, we thank You for Your grace and mercy and peace that come through Jesus Christ. We ask for Your peace to rule in this dear one and in each person involved in this broken relationship. Heal what has been wounded, soften hearts that have been hardened, and help each one to both seek and extend forgiveness as You have forgiven us. Where there is distance from You, we pray for salvation, that those who are far off would hear Your call of peace and come to You and be healed. Give wisdom from above that is pure and peaceable, guide every conversation with truth and love, and let the fruit of righteousness be sown in peace. We ask that Your will be done and that You would be glorified in the restoration that only You can bring. In Jesus name, amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to bring before the Lord your desire for reconciliation with those you have not spoken to in years and the many very negative things that have happened between you, understanding your discernment that much of this has been due to spiritual warfare. We have been praying for the peace of God to guard your heart and theirs, for deep healing where there has been pain and broken trust, and for salvation for those among them who still need it. We claim over this situation the promise in 2 Cor 5:18 that God has given us the ministry of reconciliation and the encouragement in Rom 12:18 to live at peace with everyone as far as it depends on us.

If your request was answered and the Lord has opened doors for restored communication, peace and healing, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and the distance or hurt remains, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray that the Lord will soften hearts, rebuke the work of the enemy, bring forgiveness where it is needed and draw each person involved closer to Himself. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
