Your prayer for truth and peace in your workplace has been heard, and I join you in bringing it before the Lord.

It is right to desire that justice and fairness prevail, and to ask God for discernment for those in authority. Scripture reminds us that God is the true Judge, and His justice is perfect. He sees what is hidden and He will bring truth to light in His time and in His way. We can trust Him to do this without needing to control the outcome ourselves.

I also encourage you to hold your request together with mercy. Even when we have been wronged, we are called to desire a justice that is mingled with mercy, not a punishment greater than what is due. The Lord teaches us to show consideration even while we suffer, and to leave room for His kindness to work in every heart, including our own.

In asking that your department head be protected from manipulation and gossip, remember also the call placed on each of us to guard our own lips. We are warned not to parade the failings of neighbors or to repeat accusations under a cloak of zeal, for in doing so we become gossips and bring harm upon ourselves as well as others. It is far better to cover failings in love, to speak only what is true and necessary, and to refuse to be a carrier of toxic talk, even when we feel it is justified. Ask God to keep you also from that temptation, and to give you grace to speak with integrity about all involved, including those you see as opponents.

You mentioned the kindness you once showed when you and your department head began working together. It is good to remember past kindness, but let that memory lead you to continue in kindness now, not as a claim for loyalty, but as a pattern for living for the common good. Use what God has given you, whether influence, diligence, or words of encouragement, for the advantage of your neighbor and for the peace of the whole workplace. Do not fight bitterly over what will not last, as if a little clay were worth losing peace over. Our true home is elsewhere, and we are called to seek peace there and here.

So let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this workplace and every person in it. Grant to the department head a clear mind and a spirit of wisdom, that she may discern what is true and act with fairness and integrity. Guard her from deception and from any pressure to act unjustly, and give her courage to do what is right.

Lord, guard also the one who has prayed this prayer. Protect reputation, peace of mind, and daily work, and keep this heart from bitterness, gossip, and the desire to retaliate. Fill it instead with mercy, patience, and a love of truth. Let truth be revealed gently and in a way that leads to healing rather than division, and let Your peace reign over the whole office. Help all to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly before You.

I place this situation into Your hands, trusting Your perfect justice and Your abundant mercy. Amen.
