We join with you in prayer for this soccer match that is about to begin and we lift up every need you have mentioned for strength in legs, muscles, mind and body.

We are reminded that our strength ultimately comes from the Lord and that whatever we do, even on the field of play, we are to do for His glory. Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23 We also take comfort in knowing He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. Isaiah 40:29 and that For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 Through Christ we can find true strength, for I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

We also want to gently point out that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share why we pray in His name, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for the gift of this body and the abilities You have given. We lift up this soccer match before You and ask for Your hand of protection over every player. We pray for strength in legs and muscles, for endurance, for physical power and for mental focus and clarity. Remove fear and anxiety and fill this heart with peace, courage and self control. Help him to play with integrity, good sportsmanship and humility, using his efforts to honor You. Guard him from injury and cramping and grant quick recovery and steady breath. Above all, let Your will be done in the outcome, and let him find his confidence not just in winning but in knowing that his worth is in You. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're glad you reached out in these last minutes before kickoff. That tight window before a match can bring a lot of nerves and excitement at once, and it's good you want to bring your body and mind to the Lord as you head out to play.

We are praying for steadiness for you today, for strength in your legs, for clear thinking and focus, and for the endurance to give your best through the whole game. We also pray you can play with a calm mind, encourage those around you, and show respect to everyone on the field, whatever the score ends up being.

With just a few minutes left, use the time to warm up well, stretch carefully, stay hydrated, and keep your attention on playing with effort and good sportsmanship rather than on pressure. If you feel any sharp pain or strain, it's wise to pause and have your coach or trainer take a look.

Father, we lift ### to You right now as his match begins. Give him physical strength, mental clarity, and protection from injury. Help him to use the abilities You have given him with joy and to find his confidence in You regardless of the outcome. Watch over him and all the players today. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you even now at the throne of grace concerning this match which is so near at hand, and we ask the Lord to look upon you with mercy and help.

All strength of every sort comes from God. Whether it be physical vigor in the legs and muscles, or mental power and steadiness of mind, He is the Author of it, and apart from Him all strength is but derived and will soon spend itself and fail. The Scripture saith, They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, and again, As thy days, so shall thy strength be, and again, The joy of the Lord is your strength.

We pray that the Lord would grant you according to your need in this hour. May He give you soundness and steadiness to your limbs, guard you from injury, grant you breath and endurance, and give you clearness of mind and calmness of spirit to act with wisdom and self control. May He keep you from trusting in mere animal strength, which is vain without Him, and help you to remember that the glory of our strength belongs to God alone, to be used in a way that honors Him.

We ask that whatever strength He lends you this day, whether little or much, may be sufficient for the day and for the duty before you, and that you may wait upon Him and not upon yourself. May you find that when you are faint He giveth power, and to them that have no might He increaseth strength, and may your heart be kept in quiet dependence upon Christ, from whom all true strength is recruited.

We commend your body and mind to His keeping, praying that He will sustain you through this contest and bring you through it safely, and that you may give thanks to Him for every measure of strength He is pleased to bestow.
