Ps. 121, gratitude, deliverance, rest, peace, forgiveness, rebuke evil

JesusourLordandSavior

Beloved of All
Psalms‬ ‭121‬:‭1‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.“

Prayer:
Heavenly Father I thank you for this beautiful day. I pray again for peace, rest and deliverance from this evil that refuses to leave my home. Please Heavenly Father stop what it is constantly doing. Please Lord Jesus remove all the buzzing or whatever this is from my lower body. Please stop what it is doing right now making it hard for me to sit in peace. This evil has no right or authority to be here Father God. I demand it leaves Father God. Please grant me wisdom on what to do my Lord Jesus to make it go. I cleaned out most of my room and I know there is nothing in there that might be an open door. I rebuke it in the name of Jesus. Please heal any unforgiveness I might have. Please also forgive me for my sins my Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

We stand with you in agreement, lifting our voices together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to the Father and through whom all evil must flee. Your prayer is heard, and we join you in declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, for the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

The scripture you referenced from Psalm 121 is a powerful reminder of God’s unwavering protection and care. Let us look at it again in the World English Bible:

"I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore." (Psalm 121:1-8 WEB)

This passage assures us that the Lord does not slumber nor sleep, and He is fully aware of the evil you are facing. We take authority over this evil presence in the name of Jesus Christ, for He has given us power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We rebuke this torment in Jesus’ name and command it to leave your home and your body immediately. You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you, declaring that the blood of Jesus covers you and your household.

We also recognize the importance of forgiveness and repentance in breaking the chains of spiritual oppression. Unforgiveness can create footholds for the enemy, and we encourage you to examine your heart and release any bitterness or resentment you may be holding onto. The Lord is faithful to forgive us when we confess our sins, and He cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal any areas of unforgiveness or sin in your life so that you may fully walk in the freedom Christ has purchased for you.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us, and we stand on the truth that You are our protector and deliverer. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is enduring this torment, and we ask that You would arise in this situation. We rebuke every evil spirit that is harassing him/her, and we command it to leave in the name of Jesus. We declare that this home is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no evil shall remain.

Father, we ask that You would grant wisdom and discernment to know how to walk in complete freedom. Show him/her if there are any open doors that need to be closed, and lead him/her in the way of righteousness. We pray for healing in every area of his/her life, spirit, soul, and body. Touch him/her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let Your presence fill this home.

Lord, we also ask that You would search his/her heart and reveal any unforgiveness, bitterness, or sin that may be giving the enemy a foothold. We pray for a spirit of repentance and humility, that he/she may walk in the fullness of Your grace and mercy. Forgive him/her, Lord, and cleanse him/her from all unrighteousness.

We declare that the Lord watches over his/her coming and going, both now and forevermore. We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. We trust in You, and we believe that this evil will be completely removed. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing on the Word of God and declaring His promises over your life. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and support you in this battle. Remember, the enemy is already defeated, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). You are not fighting this battle alone, we stand with you, and the Lord of hosts is your defender.

We hear how exhausting this feels, when peace seems just out of reach and the disruption is so physical and persistent, it wears you down. The fact that you came back to Psalm 121 and asked the Lord to examine any unforgiveness shows real strength, not weakness. You are not losing ground; you are fighting well.

Sometimes when relief doesn’t come quickly, we can start to feel isolated, as if we have to figure out every next move alone. But the spiritual battle you’re describing isn’t meant to be carried in solitude. One of the most grounded steps you can take right now is to invite a trusted, spiritually mature friend or a couple from your church to come and simply sit with you in that room and pray. Let them agree together with you, in the name of Jesus, that your home is a place of quiet and shelter. Having others physically present can steady your own heart and remove the sense that it’s all on your shoulders. We are not meant to war alone; the body of Christ is given to us for exactly these stretches.

Also give yourself permission to not have an instant answer. You’ve cleaned the room, you’ve rebuked what shouldn’t be there, now let that be sufficient for tonight. You don’t have to hyper-focus on what the enemy might be doing. Instead, fill the space with worship music, speak aloud simple truths of God’s care over you, and let your mind rest in the fact that the One who watches over you truly does not slumber. Small, steady acts of faith matter deeply.

Lord Jesus, you see every place where this person can find no rest. We ask you to silence what is harassing them, physically and spiritually. Cover their home, give them deep wisdom for any lingering door, and grant them the tangible peace of your presence. In your strong name we pray, Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, deliver, heal and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

The buzzing has worn you thin. I can hear it in your words, the pleading, the exhaustion, the desperate wish just to sit in peace without the assault. You have been cleaning your room, searching for an open door, commanding the evil to go, and yet the disturbance persists. It makes you feel exposed, as though your very body has become a battlefield. But I want you to listen again to that psalm you have read, for it is God’s own love-letter to you in this dark hour.

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Did you notice where the psalmist looks first? To the mountains, those towering things that seem so strong, so permanent. But help does not come from them. It comes from the One who made them. You have been looking at the trouble, measuring its height, and it has left you small and afraid. Now lift your eyes higher. Your help comes from the Maker of heaven and earth. The same hands that spread the stars and scooped the seas are beneath you, and they will not let your foot slip.

You speak of an evil that refuses to leave, a presence that has no right to be there. I do not need to tell you that the enemy is real; you know it by bitter experience. But I would remind you of something still more real: the Lord watches over you. He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. While you lie awake, wearied by the buzzing and the restlessness, your God has not closed His eyes. He is your shade at your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. This is not a pretty poem, it is a shield. Hold it up against the darkness. The Lord will keep you from all harm; He will watch over your life; He will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. No evil has authority here but that which He permits for a time, and even that must serve His loving purpose.

You have also asked for forgiveness, and I am glad you did. Sometimes the enemy’s sharpest dart is the whisper that your sins have cut you off from God’s help. When we stumble, when we fall into some sudden sin, conscience smites us, and at that very moment the dark suggestion comes: “God has forsaken you; He will never accept you again.” I have felt that arrow myself, and it is a lie from the pit. Listen, rather, to the word of the Lord: “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and remembers your sins no more.” Do you hear the tenderness in that? He does not merely overlook sin; He blots it out, He erases it from the record because of Jesus’ blood. The veil that separated you from the holiest place has been torn from top to bottom. There is no barrier now. You may come with boldness into the presence of your Father, not because you have cleaned your room or rebuked the darkness perfectly, but because Christ has made a new and living way through His own flesh. So do not let the accuser bind your conscience. Your sins are gone, buried in the depths of the sea, and the Lord has not forsaken you.

And what is it you truly need in the middle of this turmoil? You need rest. Not simply the cessation of trouble, but soul-rest. Jesus Himself gives it. He says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Notice that first rest is a gift, it comes when you cast your burden on Him and know that He has settled your account with heaven. But there is a second rest as well, a deeper one: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” This is not the peace of a quiet room; it is peace in the middle of duties that press, in the middle of a war that rages. When you do not know what to do next, when you have rebuked and cleaned and prayed and still the buzzing comes, then do the one thing Jesus would have you do: trust. Rest in His finished work. Leave the impossible things in His hand. You are not called to defeat the evil by your own frantic efforts, the serpent’s head was crushed at Calvary. Your calling now is to hide yourself in the shadow of the Almighty, to draw water from the well that never runs dry. Christ Himself is that well, and as often as you turn your thoughts to Him, you drink and are refreshed.

So tonight, if the disturbance returns, do not begin by rebuking. Begin by remembering. Say to your own heart, “The Lord is my keeper. He has blotted out my sins. He has rent the veil and opened the way. In Jesus, I have peace.” Then, from that quiet center, a simple word of trust will be stronger than a hundred anxious commands. The evil cannot abide where the peace of Christ rules.

Lord Jesus, this dear troubled one has lifted their eyes to the mountains and found only weariness. Now lift their eyes higher. Show them Your face. Speak Your peace into the depths of their body, into every corner of their home. Let the enemy’s voice be silenced, and let the gentle whisper of Your love drown out every buzzing threat. Grant them the deep rest that remains in the midst of the storm, the sure knowledge that they are forgiven, cleansed, and kept by the power of God. You are the Shepherd who watches over their coming and going, now and forevermore. In Your name we pray, Amen.
