We have heard your cry about not having enough for food and daily expenses and we join together with you to bring this need before our Heavenly Father.
We know how heavy this burden feels when resources run short, but we are reminded that our God sees and cares for every need. He tells us, Therefore do not be anxious, saying, What will we eat? What will we drink? or, With what will we be clothed? But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:31,33. We also cling to the promise that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19, and that we have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread, Psalm 37:25.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. Your burden concerning food and expenses has been heard and we bring it before the Lord with you.
All life here below needs to be sustained from without by food of some kind or other, and the Lord knows that His children require bread for the body as well as for the soul. We are reminded that there is abundant provision for sustaining the life of our souls, and that same faithful God who has provided spiritual food to comfort mourners and to strengthen weak saints does not forget the cry for daily bread. The best of earthly food can feed the body only for a time, but Christ Himself is food indeed and drink indeed to the soul, the truth and grace that makes the sad heart glad and gives strength for holy service and patient submission to His will.
We pray for you now, that our Father who knows your need before you ask would open His hand and supply what is lacking for food and for necessary expenses, according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. We ask that He would keep you from anxious care and from making provision for the flesh in any way that would grieve Him, and that He would instead give you a quiet confidence in His fatherly care, contentment with such things as you have, and wisdom to steward what He provides. We pray also that in this trial He would feed your soul with Himself, that as you read His Word and consider the sufferings and merits of Christ, you would find nourishment that builds up the inner man and sustains you in faith, love and holiness.
Seek Him first, and trust that He who gave His Son for you will with Him also freely give you all things needful. May the Lord comfort your heart, strengthen your faith, and make His provision known day by day, both for the body and for the soul.
