Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have heard your need and we join with you in prayer to our Father in heaven who knows what you need before you ask Him.
We pray that the Lord, who feeds the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field, will in His mercy provide for your daily food and for the expenses that weigh upon you, giving you what is sufficient for health and for life, and guarding your heart from anxiety. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, for there is no other name by which we are saved and by which we come to the Father, and we trust that He hears those who call upon Him in truth.
Do not let this time of want lead you into fear, for poverty itself is not the evil to be feared, but the love of wealth which is never satisfied and only burns more fiercely the more it is fed. The Lord does not call us to make provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts, but He does call us to care for the body in what is necessary and healthy, and He is faithful to supply that necessity. As you wait upon Him, continue also in diligent and honest labor as God enables you, for work is the fitting and honorable path in need, and idleness leads to no good.
May God grant you contentment with what He provides day by day, wisdom to steward what you have, open doors for work and help where it is needed, and peace that rests in His loving care. May He keep you from despondency and strengthen you to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that all these needful things will be added to you.
We are praying for you, that God will meet your needs according to His riches in Christ, and that you will know His presence and provision in the days ahead. Amen.
