Proverbs, Chapter 9

9:1 Wisdom has built her house; She has cut out her seven pillars:

9:2 She has killed her beasts; She has mingled her wine; She has also furnished her table:

9:3 She has sent forth her maidens; She cries on the highest places of the city:

9:4 Whoever is simple, let him turn in here: As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,

9:5 Come, eat+ of my bread, And drink of the wine which I have mingled.

9:6 Leave off, you+ simple ones, and live; And walk in the way of understanding.

9:7 He who corrects a scoffer gets to himself reviling; And he who reproves a wicked man [gets] himself a blot.

9:8 Don't reprove a scoffer, or else he will hate you: Reprove a wise man, and he will love you.

9:9 Give [instruction] to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

9:10 The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom; And knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

9:11 For by me your days will be multiplied, And the years of your life will be increased.

9:12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; And if you scoff, you alone will bear it.

9:13 The foolish woman is clamorous; [she is] simple, and knows nothing.

9:14 And she sits at the door of her house, On a seat in the high places of the city,

9:15 To call to those who pass by, Who go right on their ways:

9:16 Whoever is simple, let him turn in here; And as for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,

9:17 Stolen waters are sweet, And bread [eaten] in secret is pleasant.

9:18 But he does not know that the spirits of the dead are there; That her guests are in the depths of Sheol.

9 . 11 For by me your days will be multiplied. Our years are so short and there is trouble in them. But God gives us joy in living a holy life before Him and before others. Our days certainly will be multiplied if we honor our parents even in their old age. We see all around us how the elderly are forgotten or become shut ins and no one visits them. Dear Jesus please help us to open our hearts to see all these dear people who have become old and are lonely and forgotten. Help us to visit them and pray for them. In Jesus name Am,en

Lord, bring forth the simpleton from ignorance into wisdom. Open the eyes of the blind that they may see what you see. To choose ignorance, is to bring death and destruction, to entertain demons. Lord, you scripture promises that those who ask for wisdom shall be granted it. We asks for your wisdom now. We ask that you open our minds, our heart, our souls to you all-knowing wisdom. And that we are wise enought to LISTEN and FOLLOW instruction. In Jesus Name we pray.

Give instruction to a wise man....and he will get wiser. Lots of folks do not want to be instructed at all. They say you cannot teach new tricks to an old dog. But God is telling us to give instruction to a wise man. To stay away from sin a temptation. That is what no one can avoid. To be tempted to do evil whenever we are serving God. Jesus saves us from temptations and help us to be humble to receive instruction from others. In Jesus name. Amen

Do not reprove a scoffer... Sometimes when we try to do a good deed and advise someone about their wrongdoing they really get mad. God tells us not to reprove a scoffer because they may turn our well intention advised into an insult. Jesus already told us not to throw our pearls to the swine so... we should be careful when and where give a good advise. Dear Jesus please give us wisdom and understanding in trying to help someone in our church or any where else. In Jesus name. Amen

If you are wise,  you are wise for yourself. 9.12 Wisdom comes from God and we should be thankful. We adore you Oh God Almighty for the wisdom you have give to all of us. Jesus our eternal sheperd hear the prayers of your children who need wisdom from on high to fix their marriage, to pass a test, to get their economy in order and those who lost their jobs and are having family problems.  Increase our faith in you through our tribulations we can see your loving kindness that lead us to heaven. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil... for thou art with me. Wonderful father, blessed Lord. We worship you with bended knee.  May thy wounds be mine wounds and your pain my pain. So I can be humble and trusting in you at all times. Thank you Jesus for showing us the truth of your mercy. Amen

Jas 3:13 Who is there among you who is wise and intelligent? Then let him by his noble living show forth his [good] works with the [unobtrusive] humility [which is the proper attribute] of true wisdom.

Jas 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourselves on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth.

Jas 3:15 This [superficial] wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual (animal), even devilish (demoniacal).

Jas 3:16 For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices.

Jas 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [it is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity).

Jas 3:18 And the harvest of righteousness (of conformity to God's will in thought and deed) is [the fruit of seed] sown in peace by those who work for and make peace [in themselves and others, that peace which means concord, agreement, harmony between individuals, with undisturbedness, a peaceful mind free from fears agitating passions moral conflicts].

Wisdom has built her house... how nice to know that the Bible knows what we do in our own homes. The samaritan woman is a good example of this one. She goes to the well and starts drawing water from it. Then Jesus appears to her and asks for water. Give some water he told her. She was so surprised to see a Jew asking her for water. I will give you water that you will never thirst again. He said. What a wonderful example of finding Jesus in our own environment where we enjoy the most. If anyone builds her house on a sand... then the house will fall down. But if you build your house on a rock.. that is Jesus. Your house will be full of blessings. Your husband will love you more, your children also will take care of you in your old age.

Come Holy Spirit into our lives. Fill us with your love and power. Purify my soul, my mind, my heart. I am yours oh lord, Guide us with the light of your countenance. I give you oh lord my heart, use it for your glory and honor. Giver of all gifts. Of love, mercy, compassion. I beg you to stay with me with your grace and compassion. Grant me oh lord the gift of love, mercy and compassion. You are so precious to all of us who seek your face every single day of our lives.  Wisdom has built her house. 9.1 Grant me oh lord to build a house of prayer and worship down deep in my heart.  All I have is yours oh lord. Everything I give back to you. My house, my farm, my car, everything is yours. Nothing will I take with me to eternity. All I have to do is to be near your holy heart. Full of mercy and love. Grant me oh lord the gift of knowledge.. so I might know you better, teaching me to walk without deviation, towards our eternal home. To be with you forever Amen.
