Proverbs, Chapter 4

4:1 Hear, [my] sons, the instruction of a father, And attend to know understanding:

4:2 For I give you+ good doctrine; Don't forsake+ my law.

4:3 For I was a son to my father, Tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.

4:4 And he taught me, and said to me: Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commandments, and live;

4:5 Get wisdom, get understanding; Don't forget, neither decline from the words of my mouth;

4:6 Don't forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you.

4:7 Wisdom [is] the principal thing; [therefore] get wisdom; Yes, with all your getting get understanding.

4:8 Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you to honor, when you embrace her.

4:9 She will give to your head a chaplet of grace; A crown of beauty she will deliver to you.

4:10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; And the years of your life will be many.

4:11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in paths of uprightness.

4:12 When you go, your steps will not be straitened; And if you run, you will not stumble.

4:13 Take fast hold of instruction; don't let her go: Keep her; for she is your life.

4:14 Don't enter into the path of the wicked, And don't walk in the way of evil men.

4:15 Avoid it, don't pass by it; Turn from it, and pass on.

4:16 For they don't sleep, except they do evil; And their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

4:17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence.

4:18 But the path of the righteous is as the dawning light, That shines more and more to the perfect day.

4:19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: They don't know at what they stumble.

4:20 My son, attend to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.

4:21 Don't let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart.

4:22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.

4:24 Put away from you a wayward mouth, And perverse lips put far from you.

4:25 Let your eyes look right on, And let your eyelids look straight before you.

4:26 Make level the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.

4:27 Don't turn to the right hand nor to the left: Remove your foot from evil.

Happy 4th of July to everyone and let us all continue to pray for America.  A country that was founded on Gods word and to the spread of the gospel of Jesus to the whole world.  Pray that God will send the right candidated to govern this wonderful country and that America will continue to send missionaries to the whole world.  Hear my son the instruction of your father.   The whole Amican continent should hear Gods voice telling us to repent and come back to Him again.

Something I never got about Proverbs until I was much older was that Solomon kept using 2 women...one virtuous woman,....equals Godly wisdom.  One was a street walker, cheater, etc..equals worldly wisdom.    As a young man I thought he was just telling us not to run after bad women I didn't realize that He was just using an example young men would relate to.

Our Father in heaven knows your every thought, hears all our prayers.  We can see the beauty that surrounds all of us.  The beautiful rose, the wonderful clear skies and the mountain tops that glorify our wonderful heavenly Father.  We can hear His voice speaking softly to our hearts when we read His holy word.  But the path of the righteous is as a dawning light.   May our life shine before others just as Jesus would like to see us do.

Wisdom is a principal thing.... Yes, it is. I constantly ask the Lord to give me wisdom from heaven. I want to walk in the ways of the Lord He is my all in my life.

Smiling face is a beautiful face. Smiling heart is a happy heart because Jesus lives in it. Hearing the instruction of our heavenly Father will give us wisdom and understanding that comes from heaven. Hear the voice of the Lord and obey what He says.

Every single Christian, every one who loves the Lord our God then should obey this. My son, attend to My words, incline thine ear to My sayings. 4.20 Those who listen and obey this command blessings upon blessings shall come to them.

Sometimes we cannot sleep well at night and nightmares comes when we do. This is the work of the devil and he does not want us to be happy and joyful. He want us to be all nervous, full of anxiety and put all kinds of doubts in our heart. Dont let him do this to you. Just as the word says... For they do not sleep, unless they do evil. 16 Jesus alone can bring sweet peace down deep in your soul. Let Him in your heart and beautiful things will happen to anyone of us.

For I give you a good doctrine. Forsake it not. This is a wonderful advise to all of us who love the Lord. Read, hear, obey Gods word and He will bless our life.

Our eyes should be on Jesus alone. He is the provider of all good things and those who come to Him will never go out dissapointed. Just as this verse says. Let your eyes look right on. And your eyelids look straight on. Help us o Lord to look upon You alone. Our hope on earth is to see You face to face when we get to heaven. Amen
