Proverbs, Chapter 10

10:1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father; But a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

10:2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; But righteousness delivers from death.

10:3 Yahweh will not allow the soul of the righteous to famish; But he thrusts away the desire of the wicked.

10:4 He becomes poor who works with a slack hand; But the hand of the diligent makes rich.

10:5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son; [but] he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

10:6 Blessings are on the head of the righteous; But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

10:7 The memory of the righteous is blessed; But the name of the wicked will rot.

10:8 The wise in heart will receive commandments; But a prating fool will fall.

10:9 He who walks uprightly walks surely; But he who perverts his ways will be known.

10:10 He who winks with the eye causes sorrow; But a prating fool will fall.

10:11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life; But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

10:12 Hatred stirs up strifes; But love covers all transgressions.

10:13 In the lips of him who has discernment wisdom is found; But a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.

10:14 Wise men lay up knowledge; But the mouth of the foolish is a present destruction.

10:15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: The destruction of the poor is their poverty.

10:16 The labor of the righteous, to life; The increase of the wicked, to sin.

10:17 He is in the way to life who heeds correction; But he who forsakes reproof errs.

10:18 He who hides hatred is of lying lips; And he who utters a slander is a fool.

10:19 In the multitude of words transgression does not cease; But he who refrains his lips does wisely.

10:20 The tongue of the righteous is [as] choice silver: The heart of the wicked is worth little.

10:21 The lips of the righteous feed many; But the foolish die for lack of understanding.

10:22 The blessing of Yahweh, it makes rich; And he adds no sorrow with it.

10:23 It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness; And [so is] wisdom to a man of understanding.

10:24 The fear of the wicked, it will come upon him; And the desire of the righteous will be granted.

10:25 When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; But the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

10:26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, So is the sluggard to those who send him.

10:27 The fear of Yahweh prolongs days; But the years of the wicked will be shortened.

10:28 The hope of the righteous [will be] gladness; But the expectation of the wicked will perish.

10:29 The way of Yahweh is a stronghold to the upright; But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.

10:30 The righteous will never be removed; But the wicked will not stay in the land.

10:31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom; But the perverse tongue will be cut off.

10:32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable; But the mouth of the wicked [speaks] perverseness.

10.7 The memory of the righteous is blessed. I like that one because after we die people will remember us of how we were and what we did. My epitaph in the graveyard will be... Lived and died serving His Father. I really hope to Go people will remember me of what I have done for others. Specially voluteeting at the local homeless shelter where people of all walks of life come in. They have a chance to hear the Word of God and be helped with anything they need. God told us to love our brothers and sistes and serve the poor just as we do to Jesus himself. Thank you for posting this wonderful chapter. In Jesus name amen.

Hatred stirs up strife. But love covers all transgressions. This one verse is true in everyday life. TV programs are tuned to hate and destruction. One sin that God hates is hatred. We all are created in the image of God and should love one another. Praying for the souls of the lost not hating them of put them down. Jesus told us to love our neighbors as ourselves. The samaritan woman was hated by everyone for having too many husbands and for being a samaritan. Jesus talk to her and told her that He was the Redeemer . The messiah who will save us all. Dear Lord forgive us for not loving others as we should. We promise to do our best now and in the future. In Jesus name. Amen
