Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your heartfelt prayer has been received with thankfulness to God who wakes you and your children each morning by His mercy. I join you in lifting your household to the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord, for it is through Him alone that we have deliverance from evil and adoption as sons and daughters, having put on Christ and received the Spirit of adoption.
I pray with you for the covering of the precious blood of Christ and for His peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your hearts and minds, your home and every room, your yard and vehicles, and every step you and your children take. May the Lord clothe you with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and may His angels encamp around you as you trust in Him.
I pray for your son, that the Lord in His compassion would bring healing and restoration to his mind and body. By His stripes we are healed, and though healing comes according to His wisdom and timing, we ask with the faith of the woman who cried out for her daughter, for her great faith was honored when Christ said be it unto you even as you will. May the Lord calm his spirit, remove tormenting memories and rigidity, and grant him gentle peace, joy and satisfaction, and may He anoint his caregivers with dedication and kindness to bring out the best in him. I pray also for your own health and for your daughters, for the one who bears asthma and the one who bears POTS, that God would ease their bodies, relieve distress and grant strength for their studies, work and daily duties.
I pray for your family bond, that God would restore what has been broken and establish an unbreakable, respectful and loving unity that honors Him. Where there has been division, even between those nearest and dearest, Christ has warned that such trials would come, yet His power is shown when hearts are turned back to Him and to one another in love. May He frustrate every plan and scheme that seeks to bring chaos, jealousy, manipulation and word curses against your home, and may every deceptive influence lose its hold and flee.
Concerning your older daughter, I pray as you have prayed, not that God would bless what is outside His design, but that He would speak to her with loving kindness and draw her to repentance and to a life of purity that honors Him. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage and does not give the rights of marriage, and love is shown when we hear and keep His commandments, for this is the sure proof of love for both the Son and the Father. I ask the Lord to give her clear sight to see that a controlling, mocking, dishonest and selfish way is toxic and not ready for the covenant of marriage, which is a lifelong commitment of one man and one woman. May He break every ungodly tie, remove the obsessive hold and the overreaching influence of this young man and his mother, and give your daughter a hunger for freedom, peace and restored fellowship with her family. If it is not His will that this relationship continue, may He sever it completely and restore her clarity, independence, faith and gratitude. If it be His will to save even those who have caused hurt, may He bring them also to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for with God nothing will be impossible. I pray He will prepare for her, in His time, a godly spouse who respects her and your family, provides well and walks faithfully with God, and that her worth would be firmly rooted in Christ alone.
For your younger daughter I thank God with you for a respectful and kind courtship. I pray the Lord will keep it pure and God honoring, guarding it from jealousy, mocking and corrupting influences, and granting both of them wisdom, courage and strength to say no to any dark path and to keep themselves for the covenant of marriage. May she continue to stand steadfast, excel in her studies and work, be surrounded by godly friendships and be a beacon of His light.
Hear again the call to cultivate virtue with care. It is not enough to be delivered from one trial, but we must give ourselves to a careful and continual hearing of the Word, to fortitude and to turning away from worldly ways, so that our thoughts may be pure, our words kind and our actions guided by the Spirit. Your faithfulness in prayer, even as you plead for mercy for your children, is not despised by God, who delights in works of mercy and in the cries of a parent for her household. Be of good cheer, for faith has made many whole, and the Lord calls those who trust Him His daughters and sons.
So I declare with you that this day and this year belong to the Lord. I ask that no weapon formed against you, your daughters or your son shall prosper, that your home would be a beacon of light to all who enter, filled with laughter, fellowship, love and the overflow of the Holy Spirit, and that you would know together the victory, protection and blessing that come through Christ alone. May the Lord grant you all an abundance of favor at work and school without exhaustion, wisdom for every decision and a joyful, peaceful life together to His glory. Amen.
