Protection

We join you in prayer in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, confessing Him as Lord, our healer and our fortress in times of trouble. We have heard the weight you and your family have carried for these two years, the deep pain, the continuous hurdles and the severe medical challenges, and we bring your hidden burdens before the throne of grace.

The Lord knows your fear that spiritual forces of darkness may be working to bring harm against you. His Word teaches us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil, and it also teaches us that Christ has already triumphed over them. When He was crucified, the prison was burst open and the gates of brass were broken, and those who guarded the place of the dead cowered in fear. That same power belongs to Him now, and no weapon formed against those who are in Christ will stand.

Scripture also reminds us that Christ often comes to His people even in the fourth watch of the night, when the storm has lasted long. He does not always deliver at the first moment we ask, but He teaches us to bear what comes with courage and patient endurance while we wait for Him. This waiting is not in vain, for He is near and He sees you on the sea.

So we pray for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask for Your protection over this family. Cover them with Your presence as a fortress. Place Your hand upon their bodies and bring healing according to Your mercy and wisdom. Drive away all fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. Let Your perfect love cast out fear, and let Your peace guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Clothe them in the full armor of God, that they may stand firm, and teach them to remain rooted in Your Word, in prayer, and in continual trust. Where there has been oppression or attack, we ask You to break its power by the blood of Jesus, and to let no revenge or harm of the enemy prevail against them. Lead them to walk in faith, not in dread, and to seek You daily with a careful hearing of Your Word, with fortitude and with hope.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord in prayer and in the Scriptures, to remain in fellowship with faithful believers who can stand with you, and to continue to seek wise medical care while trusting the Lord as the ultimate healer. Keep your eyes on Christ, who is our salvation through faith in Him alone, and who keeps all who belong to Him secure.

May the Lord show you His nearness, strengthen you for each day, and bring you through this season to a place of rest and renewed health. We trust Him with you and for you.

Your prayer has been heard, and the pain you have carried for these two years is not hidden from the Lord. He sees the medical challenges, the continuous hurdles, and the hidden burdens that weigh on you and your family, and He hears you calling on Him as healer and fortress.

You are right to understand that the battle is not only what can be seen. Scripture says our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness. That means one of the first helps is to recognize when hardship has a spiritual dimension, because the enemy often works in quiet and cunning ways. Yet recognizing this is not so you will live in dread of a hex or revenge. There is no power that can put a curse on you that is greater than the presence of God with you. The eye that Scripture warns about is not a mystical power from another person, but a heart that looks toward evil. What matters is where your own heart is turned.

This is where the fear of the Lord becomes your strength. The beginning and the sum of true wisdom is to reverence God, and to reverence Him is to hate evil. We live in a time that asks us to tolerate evil and to make peace with it, but evil always asks to be tolerated so it can remain. God hates evil because evil destroys. It destroys bodies, minds, relationships, and values. If we are to walk in close fellowship with Him, we must also turn away from evil and not make room for it in our lives. That turning includes keeping our lips from deceit, departing from evil, doing good, and seeking and pursuing peace. Scripture says that by reverencing the Lord, people depart from evil, and that reverence tends to life. The one who lives in it will rest satisfied and not be overcome by evil. When our ways please the Lord, even our enemies can be made to be at peace with us, and the Lord redeems the soul of His servants so that those who trust in Him will not be left desolate.

Fear is one of the main tools the enemy uses against God's children, and fear and faith cannot occupy the same place. When fear is allowed to rule, faith leaves. When faith is strong, fear must leave. Fear grows when we forget the Lord and keep our eyes on the threat. The cure for fear is to remember the Lord. David said though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for You are with me. The same Lord who was with him is with you now. Greater is He who is with you than any power that is against you. Remembering that He is present, that He is on your side, quiets the heart and corrects the reactions that fear would push you to make. You can and should do what is wise and prudent for your family's health and safety, but do it from trust, not from terror. If God is your protector, He can keep you wherever you are. You do not need to hide in fear to find safety.

So continue to hate what God hates and love what God loves. Choose what is good, establish what is right in your home, and walk in the reverence of the Lord all day long. That daily awe of the Creator, not a cringing dread, is what brings health to your life and steadiness to your soul.

I pray for you and your family now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I ask You to be a fortress around this family. You know every medical need, every sleepless night, and every fear of harm. Let them know in a fresh way that You are with them. Replace fear with faith, and help them to keep their eyes on You. Teach them to turn fully from evil and to walk in what is good, to speak truth and to seek peace. Redeem and restore what has been worn down by this long season, bring healing according to Your mercy, and let them abide satisfied in Your care, not visited by evil but kept in Your peace. Guard them from the schemes of darkness and make Your presence their confidence each day. Amen.

We have asked the Lord who is your ultimate healer and fortress in times of trouble to step in on your behalf, to carry the hidden burdens you have shared, and to cover you where you have felt fear that ungodly powers or spiritual forces are working to bring harm or revenge against you. We take comfort that your battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of darkness as taught in Ephesians 6:12, and we have prayed that the Lord will be your refuge and fortress according to Psalm 91:2 and will guard you from all harm.
