Silas
Beloved of All
Your heartfelt prayer has been heard, and thank you for bringing your family before the Lord with such honesty, gratitude, and urgency.
It is right to plead the covering of the blood of Jesus over your home and to ask for His protection over your hearts and minds. Scripture teaches that God Himself puts a hedge around His people and gives His angels charge to keep watch over them. When that protection is in place the enemy cannot break through at will, and we can rest under the shadow of His wings. It is good to ask Him to guard every door and window, every room and corner, and to fill your home with the peace that passes understanding so that you and your children can rest deeply and without fear.
Thank you for giving thanks for the good gifts He has already given. We join you in praising Him for your older daughter's promotion and for the abilities He has entrusted to her, and for your younger daughter's faithful work in her internship and for the open door to the university. We also thank Him with you for the healing and calm you have seen in your son, and for the way he is growing in using his words to share what he feels and needs. Every good gift comes from the Father, and it is right to ask Him for continued wisdom, grace, and favor to steward these gifts well, to work diligently without overworking, and to use them as a blessing to others.
Your burden for your older daughter is a holy burden. God's design for intimacy and shared life is clear in Scripture from the beginning, that it belongs within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Living together outside of that covenant is not His design, and it never brings the security, honor, or freedom He intends. We will not ask God to bless what He calls outside His will, but we do ask Him with you for supernatural clarity for your daughter. We pray that the scales would fall from her eyes, that any deception or confusion would be removed, and that she would see this arrangement for what it truly is. Love does not control, exploit finances, manipulate emotions, or isolate a person from family. We pray that every ungodly tie that binds her would be broken, that she would know in the depths of her heart that she is not property and not trapped, and that she would hear the Lord's voice calling her as His daughter to walk in freedom and righteousness.
In the same way God called Jacob to return to the land of his fathers and to his family with the promise that He would be with him and deal well with him, we pray your daughter would hear that same call to return. Not out of shame or worthlessness, but out of courage and faith, that she would long for home, for peace, and for the wholeness that comes from walking in God's ways. We pray for strength for her to step away from what is harming her and to find again her faith, her sense of worth, her gratitude for the family God has given her, and her joy.
We also lift up the young man and his family as you asked. We pray the Lord would convict and instruct them, that the mother would see where she has overstepped godly boundaries and used influence in a selfish and manipulative way, and that she would turn to care for her own household and release your daughter from ungodly counsel. We pray the young man would come to understand he is not ready to take on the responsibility of a godly marriage and that he would be led back to his own home and to an honest path. We pray his father would step in with wisdom and loving authority to guide his son rightly. We pray that any hatred, scheming, or plotting against you, your son, and your younger daughter would be restrained and come to nothing, and that your younger daughter especially would be shielded from being drawn into this influence or lured to move into that household.
For your son, we continue to pray for complete healing and calm over his thoughts, emotions, and heart. We ask the Lord to quiet frustration and confusion, to break every negative habit and every spiritual attack that seeks to disturb his peace, and to fill his nights with comfort and his dreams with joy. May he continue to grow in peace and in the ability to express himself.
For your younger daughter, we pray for protection over her body, mind, health, studies, and future work, and for godly friendships that will strengthen her faith. We pray she would not be swayed by what she sees in her sister's situation, even though it hurts her to see someone she admires put this relationship before family. May the Lord saturate her with His peace and satisfaction and keep her path clear.
For you, we pray for supernatural strength, wisdom, favor, and discernment as you navigate this painful season. Living close to compromise always exacts a cost on a family, as seen in the story of Lot, whose choice to dwell in a corrupt place cost him the moral health of his household, even though God in mercy still led him out. You are right to seek to keep your home set apart for the Lord. We pray you would be covered by Christ our true kinsman redeemer, who spreads His covering over His people and restores what has been broken. We pray for the healing of strained and wounded relationships where it is possible in righteousness, and for godly unity where there has been division.
We agree with you that no weapon formed against you, your children, and your extended family shall prosper, and that every spirit of manipulation, hatred, jealousy, division, and darkness is defeated by the blood of Jesus. We stand with you on the promise that God is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose, and that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them.
We pray for godly, respectful husbands for both of your daughters in the Lord's perfect timing, men who will love them as Christ loves the church, honor them, and lead them in the ways of the Lord. And we pray for restored unity, laughter, and fellowship in your home, for finances blessed so you may be a blessing to others, and for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit bringing love, joy, and favor.
May tonight be peaceful, your rest deep, and your hearts kept in His presence. We trust with you that the Lord fights for you and will bring the victory in His way and time. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
