Beloved of All
Your honest and heartfelt prayer has been heard, and thank you for sharing the weight your family has carried for these two years. The Lord knows the hidden burdens, the long season of pain and medical trials, and the fear that unseen spiritual forces are seeking to break you physically, mentally and financially. It is right to bring this to Him as your fortress and healer, and it is true that Scripture says our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness.
In times like this, fear can become the greatest battle. One psalm reminds us that even when we walk through the valley of death we need not fear evil because the Lord is with us. Fear grows when we forget the Lord and His nearness, and faith grows when we remember Him. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart together. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed aside, and where confident trust in God is strengthened, fear loses its hold. That is why the call of Scripture is again and again to remember God, to put trust in Him and not to be afraid.
Fear is also a snare. It can paralyze you, keep you in constant panic, and push you to make wrong decisions out of dread of what people or spiritual enemies might do. The wisdom of Proverbs says the fear of man brings a snare, but whoever puts trust in the Lord will be safe. You can take wise and prudent steps for your health and your family, and you should, but not from panic or from dread of the enemy. The Lord is able to protect you whether you are on the wall or in the open. His protection is not limited to one place or one method.
The true protection God offers is described as being under His wings, with His truth as a shield. Jesus Himself met the attacks of the enemy with the truth of God's Word. As you stay close to Him, you can trust His promise that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who reverence Him and delivers them, that those who trust in Him will taste and see that He is good, and that He will be with you in trouble, answer prayer, and bring deliverance. The Lord also promises to be your confidence and to keep your foot from being caught when sudden fear or desolation comes.
This reverence for the Lord is not a cringing terror, but a holy awe that loves what He loves and hates what He hates. It is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge, the starting place for a clear mind and steady heart. To fear the Lord in this way and to turn from evil brings health and strength to life in the ways He chooses.
He is the ultimate healer, and all healing comes from Him. Sometimes He heals instantly, sometimes gradually, sometimes through the natural processes He built into our bodies, sometimes through touch and sometimes through His word alone. He is not confined to one pattern. You can ask Him for healing while also trusting His wisdom and timing, knowing that He is already at work to restore and to heal wounds of body, mind and heart.
May the Lord lift your soul as you remember Him. May He replace fear with faith, guard your family under His wings, surround you with His truth, and give you peace that is not driven by fear of man or of spiritual darkness. May He show Himself as your helper, so you can say with confidence that you will not fear what man or any dark power can do, because the Lord is with you. We are praying that He brings protection, provision, healing according to His perfect will, and a renewed confidence in His presence each day.
