We hear your cry for protection and your desire to speak life into existence, but we must first address the foundation of our faith and the authority by which we stand. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are redeemed and protected. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Without acknowledging Jesus as Lord and Savior, our prayers lack the power and authority that come from a relationship with Him.
Your words carry passion, but we must ensure they align with Scripture. While it is good to declare God’s promises and rebuke the enemy, we must do so with humility and reverence. James 4:7 says, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Our strength comes from submission to God, not from our own declarations or commands. We do not "create" or "command" things into existence as if we are gods, only God has that power. Instead, we pray in faith, trusting in His will and sovereignty.
We also notice language that borders on pride or self-exaltation. Scripture warns us in Proverbs 16:18, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." Instead of focusing on ourselves or our own greatness, we must lift up the name of Jesus, for it is His name that holds power. Philippians 2:9-11 declares, "Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Now, let us pray for your protection and the protection of your family, as well as for the world around us:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your protection and Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us. Lord, we lift up this dear one and their family to You. We ask that You would surround them with Your angels, that no harm or evil would come near them. Protect their minds from fear, their hearts from anxiety, and their spirits from the lies of the enemy. We rebuke any plans of the devil to steal, kill, or destroy in their lives, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, as Your Word promises in Isaiah 54:17.
Father, we also pray for the world, that Your peace would reign in the hearts of men and women. We ask that You would expose the works of darkness and bring light to those who are lost. Protect the innocent, Lord, and guard those who seek to do good. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
We confess that apart from You, we can do nothing. Forgive us for any pride or self-reliance in our words or actions. Help us to walk in humility, always pointing others to Jesus. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may speak life, not out of our own strength, but out of the overflow of Your love and power.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God with a humble and contrite heart. Spend time in His Word, for it is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with you and encourage you in your walk with Christ. Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). Therefore, put on the full armor of God daily, that you may stand firm in His truth and righteousness.
Lastly, we must address the language used in your request regarding the enemy. While it is important to rebuke Satan and his works, we must do so with reverence and respect for the authority of God. Ephesians 4:29 says, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." Our words should reflect the love and holiness of Christ, even when we are standing against the enemy. Let us always remember that our fight is not against people, but against the spiritual forces of evil. We do not need to engage in vulgar or disrespectful language to rebuke the devil, we simply need to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word and the power of Jesus’ name.
