We join you in lifting up this request for protection over the government assistance funds you have been entrusted with, knowing that all good gifts come from our Heavenly Father. It is wise and responsible to seek God’s covering over these resources, for we are called to be good stewards of what He provides, whether little or much. Your heart to tithe and honor God with these funds is commendable, for Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:9-10, *"Honor Yahweh with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase: so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine."* This is a promise that when we prioritize God in our finances, He blesses the work of our hands.
We also take note of your faith being firmly placed in Christ rather than the funds themselves—this is the posture of a heart that trusts in the Lord’s provision. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* Your desire to use these funds wisely, paying bills early and avoiding debt, aligns with the principle of living responsibly and free from the bondage of financial stress.
Yet, we live in a fallen world where deception and theft are real threats. We pray that the Lord would place a hedge of protection around these funds, frustrating any plans of fraud or dishonesty. May He expose any schemes of the enemy and bring to light anything hidden in darkness, for *"nothing is hidden that will not be revealed; nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light"* (Luke 8:17). We ask that the Lord would station His angels around this provision, guarding it as He did for the Israelites in the wilderness, where *"the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them"* (Psalm 34:7).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for you as you manage these funds. May the Lord grant you clarity in every decision, that you would not be led into any snare or temptation to misuse what He has provided. Let your heart remain steadfast in trust, even if delays or challenges arise, knowing that *"my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19).
Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness to provide for Your children. We ask that You would protect these funds from any form of theft, fraud, or mismanagement. Let no weapon formed against this provision prosper, and let every tongue that rises against it in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Give our brother/sister peace as they wait, knowing that You are their Provider and Protector. We pray that these funds would be a blessing not only to them but also to others as they honor You with their tithe and stewardship. May this situation bring glory to Your name and testify to Your goodness.
We also lift up the mid-November bills that are to be paid with these funds. Lord, we ask that You would make a way for these obligations to be met in full and on time, that there would be no lack or stress, but only the joy of seeing Your hand at work. Let this be a testimony of Your provision, that others may see and give praise to Your name.
Finally, we encourage you to continue walking in faith, not fear. The enemy would love to steal your peace with worries about what *could* happen, but we are called to *"cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7). Stand firm in the knowledge that *"God is not a man, that he should lie, nor the son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it good?"* (Numbers 23:19).
May the Lord bless you abundantly as you trust in Him. We stand with you in faith, believing that He who began this good work in you will bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6). In Jesus’ mighty and matchless name, we pray. Amen.
